Chapter 32 How Dare He, Being So Dirty?

Sierra lost her job and didn't want to worry Olivia, so she didn't tell her for the time being. She sat alone on a bench in the park, lost in thought. The sun was shining brightly, but Sierra felt cold. She calculated her finances at home and realized that she had to pay a large sum of money to Lucas's lawyer soon. In addition, she needed to take care of things with her father as well. There wasn't much money left at home.
Sierra gently pulled out a thin chain from around her neck with a light pink diamond pendant hanging from it. She caressed it for a long time before finally gritting her teeth and finding a pawnshop. The manager looked at it for quite some time before giving an offer: "If you want to keep it alive, I can only give you $60,000; but if you don’t mind selling it completely, how about $200,000?"
The pink diamond was worth at least $500,000 but Sierra couldn't afford not to sell it.
She needed the money!
Sierra smiled bitterly and said: "Okay!"
She received a check for $200k and added some more money from home before going to Lucas's office to pay off the fees.
Just as she came out of his office building Sarah called.
Sarah had already heard about Sierra losing her job from someone else and said: "Where are you? Come over here and let me treat you."
Since Sierra couldn't go back home conveniently right now so she agreed.
"Don’t be sad because of that scumbag," Sarah said.
Sierra shook her head: "I won’t."
Sarah sighed: "That’s good! Money is more important than men after all."
She worried that Sierra might not have enough money so she took out one of her bank cards... but Sierra refused and said softly: "I don't need it for now."
Sarah didn't believe her.
Sierra whispered: "I sold my necklace."
Sarah was stunned.
After a while, she trembled and said: "Why didn’t you discuss it with me? This is the only thing your mother left you. You've been wearing it since childhood."
Sierra patted her hand and was about to comfort her when the phone on the table rang.
It was from the restaurant manager where she worked part-time.
After listening for a few moments, Sierra slowly put down the phone and told Sarah: "The restaurant fired me."
Sarah exploded in anger.
She said: "Is this Roger's doing again? Sierra, let's go find him. I have to get justice for you! This bastard not only cheated on your feelings for four years but also wants to drive you to death now?"
Sierra held onto Sarah’s arm tightly.
She begged Sarah not to go because she knew that everything Roger did was just to force her into compromising by becoming his mistress!
Sarah cried out in anger after hearing this news: “How could Roger do this to you!”
