Chapter 5 How many times have you slept with him?
From beginning to end, Sierra didn't fight back against Roger, just like their fading relationship. She looked at Roger with nothing but hatred in her eyes.
Roger let go of her and sneered, "You want to get close to Eric? Do you have what it takes? Everyone in the circle knows that he has high standards and doesn't easily get involved with women."
Sierra didn't want to look at his face. She lowered her head and said, "This is my business and has nothing to do with you!"
Roger looked down on her from a superior position and spoke softly, "Or maybe you can't forget about me at all. You deliberately approached Eric in front of me. Do you think I care?"
Sierra was disgusted by him. She raised her eyes to look at him and said, "Roger, if it weren't for your framing my father, whoever you marry would have nothing to do with me! Don't flatter yourself!"
Roger stared at her.
Sierra forced herself to meet his gaze; she didn't want to appear weak in front of him.
For a long time, Roger's mouth curled into a mocking smile: "Sierra, will you be willing to be mine? Let's wait and see!"
After saying these words, he opened the door and left.
The luxurious wooden door slammed shut as it swayed back-and-forth... Sierra's legs went weak as she leaned against the wall beside her; tears slowly slid down from the corners of her eyes.
He was really cruel!
Four years of love had led up only betrayal from him!
It wasn’t until now that Sierra realized that Roger had been playing around with her all along; he never intended on marrying her!
And yet she still fantasized about their wedding day...
With tears streaming down Sierra’s face she laughed bitterly at herself.
...
"Sierra."
Sarah's voice came from beside her ear.
Sierra wiped away her tears and looked up, then immediately froze in place.
Outside the door were not only Sarah and her husband but also Eric.
Eric had changed into a new outfit: a deep blue shirt with iron-gray trousers, looking very business-like.
Sarah was worried about Sierra, but she didn't mention anything about Roger; instead, she explained: "It suddenly started raining heavily so we can't play golf for now."
Her husband chimed in: "Yeah! Let's make another appointment... Mr. Howard, why don't you give Sierra a ride? My wife and I have something to do anyway."
Eric glanced at Sierra’s red eyes before nodding his head slightly.
Afterwards there was heavy rain outside with thunder and lightning. The parking lot was open-air so Eric went to get the car while they waited inside.
A moment later, a golden Continental slowly pulled up in front of Sierra. She didn’t have an umbrella on hand nor did she dare ask Eric to come out of the car to pick her up.
She walked over towards him with several steps as half of her clothes got wet already.
Once seated inside the car she felt uneasy, afraid that Eric would be unhappy with this arrangement.
Eric turned his head slightly towards her without saying anything before starting the engine.
The club was halfway up the mountain; it took several turns before reaching its base whereupon he turned on the air conditioning within moments making it cold inside causing Sierra to shiver uncontrollably while turning pale around her lips.
When waiting at a red light, Eric took out a pack of cigarettes from storage compartment lighting one after lowering his head asking casually: “How long were you dating Roger?”
Sierra hesitated for a moment but still told him truthfully: “Four years.”
Eric seemed somewhat surprised as he glanced over her slender and fair legs, his eyes showing a hint of desire.
He shifted his body slightly while appearing nonchalant: “How many times have you slept with him?”
