CHAPTER 10

I STILL LOVE HER.
Ava decided to be strong for herself. Despite her heart being heavy and her chest feeling tight, she picked herself up.

She did not see the need to insist that she did meet with witch Jezebel because they were never going to believe her anyway.

She slowly walked out of the Alpha's house.

She was almost getting into their house when someone called her. Turning to face the person, she realised that it was none other than Beta Ian.

"How can I help you?" Ava asked as she eyed him up and down. She was so tired dealing with him right now.

"Can we talk in private?" Beta Ian asked and hoped that she would say yes to him. He had this idea that if he starts dating Ava, Cynthia's sister, then Cynthia would be jealous and realise that she loves him and therefore she would go back to him.

"Just say what you want to say. I do not have time to go with you to a private place. " Ava shrugged.

"Ava, you know that I love you and I have always loved you. I want to be with you," Beta Ian said but Ava shook her head in disapproval. She knew that Beta Ian was a liar. If he loved her as he says then he would never be involved with her sister.

"I am not stupid the way my sister was. I know my worth. I cannot be with someone who does not treat me right. You are a piece of shit, you know that, right?" Ava seethed.

"Cynthia was just lying because she knows that I love you so much,she was jealous"Beta Ian defended himself.

"I am going through a lot right now. The Alpha hurt me and I need to heal,so, please excuse me. I have to go" Ava found herself being open with what she was going through.

"How did the Alpha hurt you? Okay, let me confess, the Alpha hurt me too. We can always work together to bring him down,"Beta Ian suggested.

"Are you out of your mind? How can you say something like that? Alpha is powerful and he still has werewolf powers. To go against him you must be powerful!" Ava explained.

"You are right," Beta Ian agreed with her. Why had he not thought about this before?

"Now, excuse me. I need to rest," Ava said before going into their house and locking herself in.

Beta Ian remained outside, contemplating on what Ava had just told him. He realised that he had to come up with a better plan. Killing Alpha Kane would not be as easy as he thought it would.

Ava got into her bed after changing to her nightdress. She tried to sleep but it was a waste of time. How could she sleep with this storm raging through her mind?

She stared at the ceiling board thinking hard and she concluded that she could not stay in the pack. Seeing her sister with her lover Alpha Kane brought her so much pain. She needed to be as far away from them as possible.

Also, she needed to be strong to prove to the pack that she can also make a good Luna.

Immediately this thought sank, Ava took her suitcase from under her bed and stuffed all her clothes in it. In the process, she found herself crying. Never had she ever thought that she would leave the pack but now she had to leave thanks to the bitter betrayal from her sister and the love of her life. Her parents have always told her to stick with the pack but she can't anymore. Not with the betrayal.

After ensuring that all her belongings were in the suitcase, she scribbled a small note and left it on her bedside table. Once she was done, she dressed warmly. She was going to leave the pack and go to the city. She will start all over again and she will feel better with time. Staying in the pack will make her a bitter person. Their betrayal hits a different kind of nerve.

Ava did not want to wait for early in the morning so as to leave, she dragged her suitcase with her as she headed to the train station that was four kilometers away.

One thing was clear in her mind though and that is that she is going to carry out revenge on Alpha Kane and Cynthia after she comes back when she is stronger, sexy and more powerful.

The warm rays of the morning sun fizzling in through the gray curtains hit Cynthia on her face waking her up. She opened her eyes and found herself lying next to the most powerful man of their pack, Alpha Kane.

Cynthia was so happy. She kissed him on the lips before running her fingers through his hair, waking him up.

"What time is it?" Alpha Kane asked, he was half asleep. They had made lov almost half of the night and he did not want to wake up already. Cynthia was far above what he had expected. She had all it takes to make him feel good, just like her sister did.

"8:00am if I am not wrong,"Cynthia purred inching closer to kiss him again.

"I wish I would stay with you in bed but I have a meeting with Beta Ian in my study. I will join you as soon as I am done. " Alpha Kane promised. He pulled Cynthia close to him and soon enough they were kissing like crazy. Like their lives depend on it. His tongue slips inside her mouth, gentle but demanding, and it’s nothing like she has ever experienced, and she suddenly understood why people describe kissing as melting because every square inch of her body dissolves into his. Her fingers grip his hair, pulling him closer. Her veins throb and my heart explodes. She has never wanted anyone like this before. Ever.

"I am sorry but I have to go," Alpha Kane excused himself after pulling away. He showered and dressed. Before he left, he promised to make love to her once he is done attending to his Alpha duties.

When Cynthia thought of the orgasms she had last night, her body yearned for more. Anyway, before Alpha Kane comes back to make love to her, she decides to go and fetch her things from their house. In the process, she would confront Ava for being against her happiness. She should put her jealousy and her obsession to be with the Alpha aside and be happy for her. Right now she is the Luna of their pack and Ava should rejoice because her late parents are also proud of her.

Cynthia hit the shower and wore Alpha Kane's baggy sweatshirt and sweatpants. After that, she left to go to their house.

She knocked on the door and waited for a minute but no one was answering. When she decided to turn the door knob, she realised that the door was open. This was weird. Where the heck is Ava? She would have gotten the door already. This is unlike her.

She stormed to her room looking for her and that is when she walked into clean wardrobes and a striped bed. Ava was not there and neither were her things.

Cynthia's stomach becomes a pit of nerves. She recalled what her parents' dying wish was and that is, she needed to ensure that Ava stays in the pack. She should never leave the pack.

Cynthia felt horrible because she had failed her parents. Clearly, Ava left the pack. I mean, where else could she be. Her suitcase was also missing.

Cynthia decided to look around for a note or something that would maybe explain where she was so that she could bring her back to the pack and she found it.

Hi Cynthia,
I cannot call you my sister anymore because you are evil. You stole my lover away from me. Don't kid yourself, Alpha Kane was mine for three years but you stole him away from me. I will not forgive you. I will hurt you just like the way you hurt me. I have gone, don't be too excited because it will not be for too long. I will come back to take what is mine. When I come back, Alpha Kane will be all mine. He will barely look at you twice. I know how to get him to his knees, something that you will never achieve no matter how hard you try. For the record, I hate you and I don't think of you as my sister anymore. Anyway, pass my message to Alpha Kane. Tell him that he will pay the price of rejecting me in front of the entire pack. I will come back stronger, sexier and powerful. I will be a little poison but he will still want me.
Bye, but not for too long Cynthia.

Cynthia dropped the note. Her hands were shaking, her body was sweating profusely and her heart was racing in her chest. The feeling of helplessness swept through her when she realised that Alpha Kane lied to her yesterday.

She collapsed on the bed and tried to control the throbbing of her gut but it was impossible. Tears formed at the slit ends of her eyes. She bit on her lower lip to prevent them from falling.

Cynthia contemplated leaving Alpha Kane but it was impossible. He already gave her so much to remember. She cannot give him up. Not now, not ever.

Cynthia eventually decided that she was going to burn the note and pretend that she never came across it. She was not going to tell Alpha Kane about the note. Instead, she is going to do everything in her power to ensure that Alpha Kane falls deeply in love with her. She cannot bear to lose him to her sister.

When Ava returns, she will not accomplish her mission because Alpha Kane will be fully hers.

Beta Ian impatiently tapped on the mahogany table as he awaited Alpha Kane's arrival. He had been here for an hour, waiting for him.

"What took you so long?" Beta Ian whined as soon as Alpha Kane walked into the room with a mug of coffee in his hand.

"Well, as you know. Last night I had an intense love making session with Luna Cynthia," Alpha Kane said with a warm smile.

"She is so sweet,"He added before bursting into a rib cracking laughter as he recalled last night's events and Beta Ian could feel his stomach churn.

"I see,"He hissed, barely hiding his emotions.

"Are you okay?" Alpha Kane implored.

"Yea, I am fine. It is just that I waited for you for too long,"Beta Ian complained.

"You have to understand that now I have a Luna. You have to be patient," Alpha Kane advised.

"Tell Witch Jezebel that she needs to be patient because you have Luna Cynthia and let's see if she will listen. She is ready to attack again. If you keep wasting your time, don't blame anyone when she burns this pack to the ground," Beta Ian warned.

"I get your point. I am sorry for wasting time. It will not happen again. Without further ado let us start our meeting right away. Okay tell me Beta, what were the scouts up to?" Alpha Kane implored.

"Scout Caleb, come in," Beta Ian called for him and he came in.

Scout Caleb courteously saluted before he was allowed to sit.

"So, what do you have for us?" Alpha Kane asked.

"Well I have two things. My first report is that, witch Jezebel was sighted next to the rain forest. " Scout Caleb announced and Alpha Kane knew that he had to do something about it. If he wastes more time then the witch will end up killing all of them.

"What is the second news?" Beta Ian asked.

"Ava Rose left the pack. She travelled last night. " Scout Caleb announced and Alpha Kane felt his heart tingling in pain.

It is all his fault.

"Are you okay Alpha?" Beta Ian turned to face the Alpha who was so disturbed.

"I need some time alone. Leave! Leave my office!" Alpha Kane yelled and Beta Ian and Scout Caleb looked at each other in confusion.

"Leave!" He shouted once again and they had to leave, shutting the door behind them.

Alpha Kane smashed his mug of coffee against the wall. His palms were sweating and he was shaking in rage.

It is all his fault that Ava left the pack. He should not have denied dating her last night. He needs to do something about this. Ava should be here.

How is he supposed to live knowing that she is far away from her yet he still loves her?
