CHAPTER 31

SHE IS THE ONE.
"Actually Daya, what you are saying is true. I have never been in a relationship let alone being in love. I don't know what being in love feels like. Anyway, from the many novels that I have read, I want you to know that him abusing you emotionally is not right. No matter what you are going through in the relationship, he is not supposed to make you feel awful. What Iam telling you is a fact. I don't need to be in a relationship to know that," Jez told Ava.

"You are right but right now I really need you to give me some space. I need to feel this pain so that it will be easy for me to let him out of my heart. I want to be done with him once and for all," Ava requested and Jez listened.

Jez was going to sit outside when she decided to make her a cup of coffee and hoped that by the time she is done, Ava will be okay.

She had just reunited with her and the last thing that she wanted was to see her in pain. They had a lot to catch up and that is what she wanted at the moment. Not to nurse her broken heart.

Ava tried to stop herself from crying but she couldn't do it. The love that she had for him was way too deep. They had shared so much in the three years that they had been together. Therefore, she continued crying and wondering why Alpha Kane could not find it in his heart to forgive her yet she had done so much to prove herself. She has proven so much that she is worthy of his love.

A few minutes later, Jez came back with a cup of coffee.

"Drink this," She gave it to Ava who sat upright.

"I am sorry to see you this way. But I have thought of a great distraction," Jez said and Ava was keen to listen. She wanted the numbing pain that she was feeling to go away.

"What do you have in mind?" Ava asked.

"How about I teach you a few spells. You are a witch and I want to train you to be a good witch," Jez said and Ava was really into it. At least she was going to do something to lift up her spirits.

"Yes, sure, let's do it," Ava said.

"Now?" Jez mumbled. She had thought that Ava would request for more time so as to heal from the breakup.

"Yes now. I am more than ready," Ava said with a small smile.

As Alpha Kane was walking towards the pack jurisdiction, he couldn't help but be angry at himself for falling in love with Ava three years back. Honestly that was the biggest mistake of his life.

Look at him now. He has lost his werewolf powers because of following some girl who has been a nightmare in his life.

He was glad however that he was still alive to make the right choice and the choice is going back to be with the true love of his life, Luna Cynthia. Luna Cynthia has been nothing but kind and loving towards him. She is the one who deserves him.

He was going to do everything possible to ensure that she forgives him for hurting her when she ran away with Ava. He must do all it takes to win her love.

Even if Ava saved him after he slipped and fell down the cliff, he cannot agree with her being friends with Witch Jezebel. Witch Jezebel was a murderer. He killed his parents and took away their werewolf powers including his. Why can't Ava see that?

Truth be told, Alpha Kane must avenge. He must kill her just like the way she killed his parents. He will never compromise on that.

He cannot drop his quest for revenge just because she helped Ava in saving his life. Blood must be paid with blood. She must die for justice to prevail.

Alpha Kane also knew that Ava was lying about Luna Cynthia and Beta Ian betraying him. She was just jealous that Alpha Kane chose her.

First of all, Luna Cynthia was so in love with him. She could never betray him. She loved him with her entire heart and he could see her pain when he chose Ava over her before they fled the pack.

As for Beta Ian, they have literally grown up being friends. There is no possible way that he would ever betray him. They go way back. They have so many good memories together and he once confessed that he loves working under him and also, the Alpha position was created only for him.

As for his werewolf powers, Alpha Kane had decided that he was not going on his knees to ask witch Jezebel for his werewolf powers back.

He knew for sure that if he demanded Witch Jezebel to restore his werewolf powers, then she would have forced him to be with Ava so that she could fulfil his dream of getting his werewolf powers back yet in reality his werewolf powers belonged to him.

There is no way that he was going to be with Ava let alone swallow his pride to ask Witch Jezebel for that favor. Ava does not have a space in his heart. Not anymore.

The only person who owns his heart at the moment and always is Luna Cynthia.

Alpha Kane decided to keep the fact that he had lost his powers a secret. He did not want to lose the respect that the pack members had accorded to him simply because he was so powerful.

He was going to pretend to have his werewolf powers until he found ways to fix it.

"Alpha!" He was on his way uphill when he heard the call.

Alpha Kane turned around and saw Gamma Malcom.

"Hi Malcolm," He greeted him as he watched him come up to where he was.

"Finally you are back. Seeing you gives me so much excitement to know that you are going to save us all," Gamma Malcom said with so much enthusiasm.

"What are you talking about?" Alpha Kane was confused. What do they need saving for ?

"We are sick and tired of living under oppression. Luna Cynthia and Alpha Ian are dictators. They ended up killing Mark Birgam because he was loyal to you. They have added the taxes and it is hell to live in Midnight pack," Gamma Malcom explained and it finally hit Alpha Kane that Ava was telling the truth.

"Are you sure about this?" Alpha Kane asked as he felt a single sweat trickling down his forehead.

"Of course. Thank goodness you are back to save us all. We desperately need you to use your werewolf powers to save us," Gamma Malcom added and Alpha Kane felt a swarm of butterflies being released on his stomach.

What is he going to do? The people of Midnight pack need him to save them from this situation that he himself started when he followed Ava out of the pack.

"I will be there to save you all. I will attack at midnight," Alpha Kane lied to him. There was no way that he was going back to the pack without his werewolf powers. The people will know that he is weak and powerless. He cannot risk that. He has to go back to get help.

It is such a shame that he hated them earlier but right now he has to go back and seek help from Ava and Witch Jezebel. He cannot comprehend the fact that Luna Cynthia and Beta Ian were oppressing their own people.

"Thank you Alpha. I will leave you to prepare. We need you," Gamma Malcom said before he walked away.

As soon as Gamma Malcom was out of sight, Alpha Kane started walking back. He was going back to the cave.

He felt stupid to having trusted Beta Ian and Luna Cynthia who turned out to be selfish people. He will definitely make them pay for the betrayal. Despite having this in mind, he found himself crying. He was so stupid to trust the wrong people.

Ava is clearly the one for him but he has been treating her like shit. He needs to make amends with her before it is too late.

She might have made a mistake once but she has done many things right and therefore she deserves to be forgiven.

Considering how much he had hurt her, he was not sure if she was going to find it in her heart to forgive him.

Honestly, he does not deserve the forgiveness that he is asking for but everyone deserves a second chance.

He has acknowledged that he made a mistake and therefore he must make amends to win back her heart.

In the end, he hopes that the two of them will reunite, he will hear her out and maybe they will start a nice relationship, just like the one they had before he rejected her.
