CHAPTER 13

DOING ALL THAT IT TAKES.
Ava had a second thought about everything to do with the revenge. What if this was meant to happen and that she did not deserve to be Luna? Let's be real, she doesn't know how to fight and the pack considers her as weak.

What if revenge is not going to help her get Alpha Kane back?

She had been told by her mother sometime back that revenge is not usually a nice thing. The best form of "revenge" is being better and doing better.

Plus, who said that she will not find another man who will deserve her? There are so many men out there who would be pleased to have her as their lover. They would love her genuinely, the way that she deserved.

Ava decided to forget about Alpha Kane and her sister Cynthia by moving on with someone new.

Ava did not want to waste any more time. She got out of bed and went to her wardrobe. She ran her fingers through her stack of clothes as she looked for a perfect one to wear. She finally decided to wear a brown figure hugging dress with one strap. The dress accentuated her figure and she loved this. After that, she wore heels, tied her hair in a neat bun before doing a full makeup on her face.

As she set her makeup with the makeup spray, she couldn't help but acknowledge how beautiful she was. She realised that she didn't have to cry for a man because she would always find another one. There are plenty of fish in the ocean. Alpha Kane is not the only man in the world who can love her.

Tucking her small statement handbag under her arms, she stepped out of the house and made for the gate. She felt so confident. Ava took a taxi which dropped her right outside The Black Pearl club.

The club was noisy and filled to the brim. Everyone was having a good time. She made for the bar where she asked for six shots. She sat right at the bar area as she slowly gulped down her shots, one by one.

She looked around aiming to find a man who would be Alpha Kane's replacement and she finally noticed one.

Right across the club, she saw Billy, the trainer who trained her in the gym early this morning. She took her time to admire his biceps and his perfectly sculpted chest that showed under his tight white t-shirt.

She decided that she was going for him. This is the 21st century meaning that it is perfectly normal for a lady to ask a man out.

"Hi," She said loud enough to gather his attention.

Billy was seated all alone enjoying the company of music and sipping on his beer when he heard her greet her.

Billy marvelled when she saw Ava. She was still the most pretty woman that he had ever met in his life. Ever since he saw her this morning, something in him made him feel drawn to her like a month to a flame.

Actually, he was trying to forget about her by drinking but she showed up. Maybe this was another way of the universe telling him that he can have something with her.

"Can I join you?" Ava asked as she played with the neon green straw of her cosmopolitan cocktail.

"Yes, sure," Billy moved a chair close to him and asked her to sit.

Ava smiled at him before she took a seat next to him.

They sat in silence until Billy decided to say what was on his mind.

"By the way Ava..." He paused waiting for her reaction.

"What?" Ava asked, jutting her eyebrows up.

"You are so pretty. I swear, since the first time I saw you, something in me changed. I have this desire to get to know you. I want to be with you. " Billy confessed and Ava smiled.

This is what she wanted to hear. Turns out that she can not only make an Alpha fall in love with her but she can also make humans be crazy about her. She is the real deal, isn't she.

"I see," Ava said as she arched her lips upwards.

"I am not playing with you. I have fallen in love with you so deeply," Billy added.

"How can you prove it?" Ava flirted with him.

"We can go over to my house. I can show you how deep my love for you is," Billy said, crossing his fingers and hoping that he was not going to offend her with his request. He did not want to sound like a creep.

"Let us go then. " Ava said. She wanted to be with him so that she could forget Alpha Kane completely.

"Really?" Billy was so excited. He wanted confirmation.

"Yes, really. Let us go now before I change my mind," Ava insisted and Billy was down for the idea.

They got out of the club and took a cab to Billy's apartment.

"Should I prepare something for you to eat?" Billy asked as soon as he welcomed her to his apartment.

"Yea, of course," Ava said.

"What do you want me to cook for you? Tell me your favourite dish and I will prepare it for you." Billy said.

"Cook anything with beef, I will really appreciate it. I love beef" Ava said.

"Would you mind ? I might need a helper in the kitchen to help me as I am cooking," Billy requested.

"I am sorry but I don't like cooking. I can sit and watch you cook as I drink a glass of wine," Ava said and Billy agreed.

Billy served her wine and she drank as she sat at the kitchen counter.

"Now that you don't normally cook, who cooks for you?" Billy asked as he sauteed the onions to make burgers.

"My sister Cynthia," Ava mentioned and her mood suddenly changed when she recalled the betrayal.

"Wow, you have a sister. How nice, I can't wait to meet her, you know," Billy said , looking up to smile at her but he realised that her once smiley face was covered with a frown.

"Are you okay? Did I mention something that offended you?"Billy wiped his hand with a kitchen towel before he went over to hug her from behind.

"My sister betrayed me and that is why I am sad," Ava said as she stared deeply into space.

"I am so sorry about that. Would you mind sharing?" Billy asked as he assumed a position between her legs.

"No, just make me forget everything," Ava said.

"Are you sure that this is what you want or you probably had too much wine?" Billy implored.

"Billy, don't ask so many questions. I want you to kiss me, romance me, own me as you make love to me," Ava said without blinking and Billy knew that this is what she wanted.

Since Billy had so many feelings for her, he did not hold back.

Billy leaned in close, so close that their noses were touching. He captured Ava's lips in a kiss.

Ava felt the warmth of his tongue as he rolled it against hers. Anyway, there was something missing. The heat she used to feel when Alpha Kane kissed her was no longer there. The spark she felt when they kissed was hardly there. There was no passion at all.

She could not do it. It was not worth it. She pulled away from him.

"Are you okay? Is everything okay?" Billy asked. His heart was beating so hard on his chest threatening to burst. He wanted more of the kiss because on his end, her lips tasted like honey.

"With you I don't feel the spark I am supposed to be feeling. I am sorry to have tried to use you as a rebound. I have to go. It is clear to me that I am still in love with my ex-," Ava confessed as she took her bag and rushed out of the place.

"What about the meal?" Billy asked as he placed his hands on top of his head but she had already left.

Damn! Billy thought that Ava would be her ex-girlfriend's replacement but it turns out that she really didn't like him. She was just using him.

Billy drank the remaining wine and went to sit at the coach. He binge-watched his favourite show on Netflix hoping that Ava would come back but she didn't.

Ava ran as fast as she could. Once she was exhausted, she walked till she got back to her house. She was so tired. She kicked her heels out of her legs and got rid of her clothes before she stepped into the shower.

As she allowed the warm water to run down her hair, she realised that she needed Alpha Kane. She was going to avenge the hurt first so that he could learn his lesson concerning rejecting her and after that she would consider forgiving him.

She was not going to waste any more time. She had to look for the shortest route possible.

She knew that asking witch Jezebel for assistance would backfire on her at some point but right now she was so desperate. She needed help.

She wanted to be confident, sexy and powerful.

"I knew that you would want to be my friend," She heard Witch Jezebel's voice.

Heck, had she been following her?

No, she cannot do this. This will be betraying the entire pack. This is wrong.
