CHAPTER 40

A SISTER'S LOVE
Ava passed by the cave in the company of Alpha Kane where she packed up the wand and the spell books. She was going to make good use of them and become the most powerful good witch ever.

She felt nostalgic knowing that she was never coming here unless if she was coming to pay tribute to Jez. A lot had happened while she was in the cave and her heart was feeling heavy to let go of everything and walk away.

It was a lot to take in.

Alpha Kane hugged her and this was enough to give her the support that she wanted to finally let go and go back to the pack.

"Let us go already, I am sick and tired of seeing the two of you together!" Luna Cynthia yelled when she saw the two of them hugging.

"Just admit that you are just jealous," Ava rolled her eyes.

"What is there to be jealous about? As a matter of fact, I feel sorry for you. You are a desperate woman," Luna Cynthia said.

"Desperate? How am I desperate?" Ava asked as she shook her head in disagreement.

"How could you take back a man who rejected you? If that is not enough, he went ahead to marry and fuck your sister. I thought that you knew your worth, it seems like you were giving me advice that you can barely put in practice," Luna Cynthia said before she laughed, hurting Ava's feelings.

"Shut up! I don't want to hear any words from you!" Ava yelled at her.

"Whatever, I am just telling the truth," Luna Cynthia added.

"Walk right ahead and shut your mouth. We are sick and tired of your bitterness!" Alpha Kane ordered.

"If you want me Alpha Kane, just say it, I am available," Luna Cynthia continued, making them uncomfortable.

"Shut up! I won't repeat myself!" Alpha Kane yelled.

After Jez killed the witch without asking her to fix their powers back, Beta Ian went back with a divided team of warriors. Each of them was angry. They were not loyal to anyone and they did not care about any leadership because of how Luna Cynthia betrayed them.

They had given Luna Cynthia their full support and trust but she ended up failing them.

They wanted nothing to do with her,Beta Ian included. One they got back to the pack, he went to the Alpha's room and took his belongings . He did not want to be an Alpha anymore. He accepted his position to be the Beta other than an Alpha who failed his pack.

After the warriors told the rest of the pack members what happened, they organised a peaceful demonstration and Beta Ian knew that as the Beta he had to step in.

The people did not want to see his face but he went ahead to tell them that he hopes that Alpha Kane comes soon. He also apologized for taking his position because he did not deserve it. He was not meant to be the Alpha and that is why he failed the entire pack.

More than ever, Beta Ian regretted ever making a deal with Luna Cynthia because it has cost her and the entire pack their werewolf powers.
If he had backed down from the deal then maybe none of this would have happened.

Come to think of it, what was he going to tell Alpha Kane when they meet eye to eye? He had been friends with him for a long time but he ended up betraying him because of his selfishness. He should have known better instead of betraying him.

As for Luna Cynthia, he hoped that she would never show her face in the pack. She doesn't deserve to be a member of the same pack that she betrayed because of her selfishness.

Beta Ian went to bed hoping for a miracle. That is what the pack needed more than ever. If they continue like this, without a very able leader like Alpha Kane, then it is not going to end well. They are surely going to hurt each other. The pack needs their true leader and that is none other than Alpha Kane.

By the way, where could he be?

Luna Cynthia, Alpha Kane and Ava walked all the way to the pack jurisdiction then to the Alpha's quarters.

Since Beta Ian's betrayal hit the most, Alpha Kane decided that he was going to deal with him first before anyone else.

He kicked his door open and found Beta Ian sleeping.

He slapped him hard on the cheek, waking him up.

"Alpha," Beta Ian called when he saw Alpha Kane. He knew that he deserved the slap. He was not resentful about it.

"No, you are the Alpha, aren't you? Or have you forgotten the time you betrayed me?" Alpha Kane mocked him.

"I am really sorry, your grace. I was so stupid to listen to Luna Cynthia. She is the one who came up with the idea. " Beta Ian went on his knees and apologized.

"I am right here. No one forced you to do anything. You betrayed him because that is what you have been meaning to do for a long time. You kept telling me of how much you wanted to be the Alpha," Luna Cynthia heard him lying hence she intervened.

"Really? Is that what you wanted?" Alpha Kane asked him while maintaining eye contact.

Beta Ian could not answer him and this was an answer on itself.

"From now onwards, you are no longer the Beta!" Alpha Kane said and he was not going to change his decision. Beta's are supposed to be loyal to the Alpha, if he was not loyal, then it means that he does not deserve the position.

"No Alpha, please forgive me. I cannot lose my position," Beta Ian begged. He couldn't imagine being just another member of the pack.

"My decision is final. Please leave this Beta quarters before dawn. From now on, I denounce you as the Beta. Moving forward, you will just be an ordinary member of the pack!" Alpha Kane added and Beta Ian lost it. He wanted someone whom he would pour his frustration on.

He went to where Luna Cynthia was standing.

"You stupid whore, you are the cause of this!" Beta Ian yelled at Luna Cynthia.

"You deserve what you are getting Ian. You have not only hurt my feelings but you have used so many ladies of this pack just because you are the Beta. You deserve everything coming your way. I hate you!" Luna Cynthia spat.

She cursed the day that she met him. She got to know that Ian was using her when he failed to stand by her side at that time when she needed him the most.

He might have convinced the pack not to kill her but that is not enough. He should have been loyal to her.

"You have hurt so many people. You will never be happy! It will never go well with you!" Ian cursed her.

"Whatever! What's the worst that can happen? I am already a prisoner," Luna Cynthia said.

"Baby, that's enough, we should go now," Ava told Alpha Kane after Beta Ian walked away, throwing his fists in anger.

"What about her?" Alpha Kane referred to Luna Cynthia.

"I never knew that I would say this but set her free. She has already lost everything. She will lose her title to me. That is enough punishment for her. Plus, she is my sister. Despite everything wrong she has done, I have to forgive her," Ava said everything that she had been thinking about as they walked back to the pack.

Luna Cynthia could not believe this. Was Ava trying to be kind to her?

"No baby, no. She is a monster!" Alpha Kane disagreed with her.

" I am going to change. I promise you. I really do," Luna Cynthia tried to talk Alpha Kane into forgiving her.

"Look, she has changed," Ava said.

"I don't know about this but I will have to think about it. " Alpha Kane said .

"Meanwhile, go home Cynthia," Ava said before holding Alpha Kane's hand to affirm to him that everything will be okay.

Luna Cynthia was moved by Ava's decision. She was not expecting that from her. She could not comprehend that after everything that she has done to hurt her, her sister is still very kind towards her.

Luna Cynthia freed her hands once she got into the house. She was exhausted hence she went to bed. She also had a lot to think about based on Ava's actions. That was so unexpected yet she had been mean towards her for a long time.

As Ava walks into Alpha Kane's bedroom, she couldn't help but feel excited. Finally this had happened. She was going to occupy the position that she deserved in Alpha Kane's life, to be her Luna.

Alpha Kane might not be in total agreement with Ava's kindness which made her free her sister but he was happy to see her by his side. Finally, the two of them are together, just like they have always wanted.

"Baby, I want to shower. Will you please join me?" Ava requested him after they settled in.
