CHAPTER 19

HIS OBSESSION.
For a second or so, Ava allowed Alpha Kane to hold her hands.

She looked at him begging and telling her sweet nothings but after the betrayal, Ava could not believe anything that was coming from his mouth. It was all lies.

If he cared enough like the way he is confessing now, then he should not have rejected her. He should have told the pack about her as he made her the Luna of Midnight pack.

"Baby, I am begging you. Please forgive me. Once we kill Witch Jezebel after getting our powers back, I will divorce Luna Cynthia and make you Luna.Just think about it. The people will address you as Luna Ava or her Grace. I love you Ava. I love you my dear," Alpha Kane begged her hoping that she was going to say yes to him and forgive him for rejecting her.

"No Alpha Kane. I am not naive anymore. I know that you are a liar and a deceiver. You deceived me before and I cannot allow you to deceive me once again. Right now I know my worth. You cannot tell me otherwise," Ava said.

"Come on baby, give me a second chance. We can make love in the woods just like the way we used to do before. You loved that, remember," Alpha Kane continued begging.

"You think that I am stupid, huh?" Ava asked before she laughed dramatically.

"What's wrong baby, did I do anything wrong?" Alpha Kane was confused.

"Quit calling me baby, I am not your baby. " Ava warned.

"Come on Ava. You know that I love you. Please give me a second chance," Alpha Kane continued begging.

"Actually it's the audacity for me. What makes you think that I can forgive you after the humiliation you made me go through?" Ava spat.

"Come on baby, don't say that. You love me. I know that you still love me. You cannot forget about me. We were together for three years, my love. " Alpha Kane countered and Ava decided that she had heard enough from him.

"I cannot lie to you. I loved you. But after you disrespected me, I stopped loving you. I know my worth now, I cannot take back someone who treats me like shit. So quit apologising. " Ava explained.

Alpha Kane was not going to give up. He wanted to be with her tonight. He was willing to do anything to move her and make her change her mind about forgiving him.

"I can never forgive you Alpha Kane. Go away. You are just wasting your precious time,you should be with Luna Cynthia right now," Ava said.

Alpha Kane went on his knees. He was willing to do anything to show that he was remorseful.

Ava couldn't believe that this was happening. The Alpha is kneeling in front of her yet he is the highest in command? Maybe he is remorseful. Maybe he regrets everything that he did to hurt her.

"I don't like your sister. I was fooled into marrying her," Alpha Kane explained.

"Wow, but you make love to her every night, huh," Ava shook her head in disagreement. Alpha Kane was not remorseful as she thought of him to be. It turns out that he is just lying to her. Nothing that comes from his mouth is the truth.

"How did you know about that?" Alpha Kane was surprised that Ava knew his bedroom issues. Well, it seems like Cynthia spilled the beans already.

"So it's true. Wow! You are just something else," Ava said.

"Don't say that Ava. I love you. You know that I do," Alpha Kane continued begging.

"I will make you Luna, soon. Give me time my love," Alpha Kane added.

"Stand up. Stop being dramatic. Now that you want me to forgive you. I will forgive you," Ava said and Alpha Kane got to his feet. He was so excited that finally Ava was going to forgive him.

"Really my love?" Alpha Kane asked with a smile playing on his lips.

"Of course. But under one condition," Ava said.

"What is the condition? I am willing to do everything that I can to regain your trust. Just mention it," Alpha Kane promised and Ava was happy because this is what she had wanted to hear for the longest time.

"I will say yes to you, if you tell Luna Cynthia the truth about the love that you feel for me. After that, I will want you to make an announcement to the pack about me being the next Luna because you have rejected Cynthia as your Luna," Ava suggested and Alpha Kane was lost for words.

What Ava was asking for was impossible. How can he reject Luna Cynthia yet he needed her for revenge. No, he can't reject her.

"Please ask something else. Come on baby. What you are asking for is too much," Alpha Kane complained.

"If it is too much then you are not doing all it takes to get my forgiveness and this means that you are playing me. You don't love me. You just want to use me. You want me as a mistress and not as a Luna and I am never going to agree to that crap. " Ava had made her decision.

"Do not say that baby. I still love you. My darling Ava, I never understood what it means to be truly loved, what it is to have your love wholly accepted, until you. You make me feel whole, not because you make up half of me, but because you accept all of me into the life we share together. I promise to always do the same for you. I love you more than you could ever have imagined. Alpha Kane confessed what he felt towards Ava for all the time that they had been together.

"I don't love you Alpha Kane. The love that I felt for you ended when you rejected me. Right now I love someone else and that person is none other than Beta Ian. I cannot wait for you to pardon him so that I can give him a chance. " Ava said this and it made Alpha Kane feel like he was practically breathing fire.

He loved Ava so much and he could barely think of her with another man. The thought of another man making love to her made his wolf turn into a beast but he did his best to contain him.

"If I cannot have you, no one else can," Alpha Kane said as he huffed and puffed in anger.

" Are you sure about that?" Ava implored.

Luna Cynthia had this weird dream that Witch Jezebel used someone in the kingdom to kill them all. It was too late for her to save anyone in the pack because every house in the pack was on fire. They had been defeated.

Luna Cynthia woke up and she was sweating profusely. She thanked the moon goddess that this was a dream. What if it was a reality? She has to do something about the witch or else she will have this bad dream come to pass.

Luna Cynthia felt that she did not have to worry about any betrayal from the pack because Midnighters were very loyal. Their parents had given them a good foundation about the pack that made each of them very loyal to the pack.

As Luna Cynthia thought hard about tackling Witch Jezebel, it hit her that Alpha Kane was not sleeping next to her. This was unexpected. Where could he be for goodness sake? It is 2:00am in the night. They had slept together after making love. Could he have run away from her?

Luna Cynthia covered her body and got out of their bedroom after looking for him on the balcony. She went to his office but he was not there either.

Where the heck is he?

Luna Cynthia was still thinking of where to find him when she decided to go and see her sister. Ava was still in love with Alpha Kane and she hoped that the two of them were not together. If they are then that would break her. He had been with Alpha Kane for weeks now and they had been together for three years. How could she ever compete with that? For the second time, she regretted getting married to Alpha Kane. If she knew that Alpha Kane was so obsessed with her sister then she should never have said yes to him.

Now that she is already caught up in this mess, this is going to be a tough one because she had to win Alpha Kane's love. She loves him so much and she wishes that he could love her with so much intensity just like the way that she loved him.

Actually the only thing giving her hope about their relationship is the fact that the pack is on her side. Hence, Ava cannot win. Plus, she also has a good backup plan. As she said before, no one can take Alpha Kane from her.

That will only happen if she is dead. Before that, she cannot give him up . She will fight for him till the end.

Luna Cynthia was walking to their house when she saw the two of them together. Instantly, Luna Cynthia was overcome with jealousy. She felt bitter stinging pain at the back of her throat that left her shedding tears and her having a runny nose.

She hid behind a tree as she tried to calm herself down before she decided that she was going to confront the two of them. She was not going to take this form of disrespect from the two of them. She is the Luna of Midnight pack and she must be respected.

Alpha Kane and Ava were busy talking to notice Luna Cynthia's arrival. As usual, Luna Cynthia wanted to slap Ava but this time round, she held her hand and pushed her to the ground.

Luna Cynthia could not believe this. Did Ava just humiliate her in front of the Alpha?

Also, when did she become powerful? She knew her sister so well. Something might have happened that made her so powerful.

Alpha Kane was too shocked to react. He was worried that Luna Cynthia would throw Ava to jail and he did not want that for her. If she throws her there then Luna Cynthia will bond with Beta Ian who will take her away from him.

Luna Cynthia got to her feet and dusted herself with her hands.

"You need to apologize to Luna Cynthia," Alpha Kane told Ava who did not feel guilty for pushing her sister like that. She deserved it. Didn't she? She had been telling so many lies about her and therefore she needed to be taught a lesson.

"I am not going to apologize. Maybe she should because she has been telling you lies about me," Ava said.

"We are not done here. " Luna Cynthia hissed before she walked away.
