CHAPTER 6

A DREAM COME TRUE.
Eventually, Cynthia settled for the yellow dress. She loved how it fitted her body perfectly. She styled her hair in a neat bun and after that she wore dangling earrings made of brass.

She applied a vamp-red lipstick and that completed her look. She was stunning. Her green eyes were highlighted well with the light face beat on her face.

She was confident that if Beta Ian sees her tonight then he would be more sure with her. He would want a committed relationship with her.

Wearing nude heels, she stepped out of their house and waited for Beta Ian who had promised to be there in a few minutes.

Ava was forced to leave Alpha Kane's room and go back home because he constantly avoided her and that broke her heart. As she walked home, she hoped that this was a bad nightmare that she could wake up from. She could not take the rejection. She tried to but it is impossible to forget Alpha Kane who had given her so many memories to remember.

Tears formed a stream down her face as she took the last turn to get home.

Cynthia was looking around impatiently as she waited for Beta Ian to arrive when she saw her sister approaching.

From where she was standing,she could see that her sister's face was covered in tears. Her mascara was all over her face due to too much crying.

She knew of the only thing that could make her feel this way and hence she addresses it.

"I warned you about the guy you dated secretly but you did not listen to me. Look at you now, he dumped you, didn't he?" Cynthia asked as she smiled a little. She was happy that her little prediction came to pass.

"Mind your own business!" Ava said between sobs. That is why she hated her sister. Her sister loved seeing her in pain.

"I am minding my business, as you can see, I am going out for a date with the love of my life,"Cynthia bragged as she fanned herself with her right hand.

"I pray that the two of you break up!" Ava shouted as her body shook with rage.

"I am sorry darling but unlike you, we won't break up. In fact, we are fixing our relationship," Cynthia said. She was so confident with her relationship with Beta Ian. She hoped that things would turn out well.

Ava's heartbreak was grief that comes in waves, gruelling, stealing appetite and sleep alike. It is a shard in her guts that never leaves, though perhaps in time the edges will dull. It feels like death just the same as bereavement and in quiet moments it chokes the breath from her body and short circuits her mind. What was once whole is shattered; where once was peace is emptiness, echoes of a love that she put her everything into.

Tucking herself in bed, she hoped that tomorrow would be a better day. However, she tossed and turned because one thing disturbed her mind and that is who Alpha Kane is going to choose as his mate and lover. Who could it be? Alpha Kane had mentioned that it was someone that she loved but she could not think of anyone. Who could it be?

Anyway, Ava promised herself one thing and that is to fight for the love of her life till the end. She loves Alpha Kane so much and she cannot bear seeing him with another woman. She cannot give him up for some woman.

She would go after the woman. She will ensure that their relationship fails to work so that she will be with Alpha Kane once again.

She is the only one who deserves to be with Alpha Kane, no one else and that is it.

She has declared a war. She is not going to stop until Alpha Kane is hers once again. She is going to do all it takes to win his love again.

Cynthia had been standing out of their house for ten minutes and then she started getting worried. Could it be that Beta Ian was making a fool of her. Could it be that he is doing this to hurt her again?

What if he thrives in making her feel awful. He promised to be here ten minutes ago but up to now he is nowhere to be seen.

Cynthia's anxiety started creeping in as she battled her eyelids. She started having a feeling that Beta Ian was going to stand her up. She could feel her stomach becoming a pit of nerves.

When twenty minutes passed, Cynthia's insides curved in. She felt as if someone had spread gasoline over her heart then set fire on it. The pain that came with that was so excruciating.

She decided to go back to the house to comfort herself because this was a bad joke from Beta Ian who wanted to see her heart broken. He hates her so much to do this to her.

Tears formed at the split ends of her eyes. However, she fanned her face as she bit her lower lip to stop the tears from falling down.

Alpha Kane got out of his bedroom fully dressed in a black tuxedo and a white shirt. Instead of a typical tie, he went for a black bow-tie. He was so elegant and classy especially with the silver watch and the shiny shoes.

He tried to smell her scent but he couldn't feel any. To mean that Cynthia was not here.

"Beta Ian!" He yelled his name.

"Yes sir!" He came right away when he heard his call.

"Where is he?" Alpha Kane asked.

"Sir…''Beta Ian stammered. He had thought that Alpha Kane was going to change his mind about going for a dinner date with his ex-girlfriend, Cynthia Rose.

"Go get her immediately! Don't piss me off. You know what I am capable of doing once I am angry," Alpha Kane shouted at him.

Beta Ian hated that this was happening. He wished that there was another way. When he advised Alpha Kane on getting a strong Luna, the last thing that he expected was for him to choose Cynthia out of all the warrior girls.Cynthia was good in the battle ring, but Beta Ian had thought that she was never going to be his type.

Right now he does not have a choice but to allow her to see Alpha Kane. It was a command. The earlier he accepts it, the better.

"Cynthia, wait," His voice eased to Cynthia's ears, preventing her from going back into the house. She had lost all hope but eventually Beta Ian showed up. It turned out that he was not toying with her feelings.

Cynthia's mood changed from sadness to pure happiness. She was so excited. She looked forward to the dinner that the two of them were going to have.

"I am so…" Cynthia had to pause when she noticed that Beta Ian was not happy to go on the date with her. Wait, what the heck is happening here? Wasn't this his idea?

Beta Ian felt like a damn fool as his eyes feasted on Cynthia's body. Cynthia was so beautiful. She was perfect too. He wondered why he had never treated her right. He should have settled down with her when she wanted to settle. He let her out of his hand and right now he is paying for it because she is going to be with someone better than him and that is none other than Alpha Kane who has a higher rank than him.

He was so stupid to leave her because of a stupid crush that he had on her sister, Ava, who barely looked at him twice.

"Baby, are you okay? You seem off," Cynthia noticed.

"Quit calling me baby!" Beta Ian warned. The last thing that he wanted was for Alpha Kane to know that Cynthia and him were an item in the past.

Who knows, if Cynthia loves him as she swore she did, maybe he can use her in his deals. There is a lot to avenge for when it comes to what Alpha Kane did to hurt him

Cynthia was confused with his reaction. Beta Ian was acting so strange.If he did not want the affection, then he should not have asked her out for a date in the first place.

"What is wrong with you? I thought that this is what you wanted," Cynthia said.

"Just be quiet for once and follow me!" Beta Ian Instructed.

Cynthia thought that they were going to his house but they ended up going to Alpha Kane's house.

"Why are we going to the Alpha's house?" Cynthia addressed her concern.

"Shut up okay? Stop making things harder than they are," Beta Ian whined.

"No, don't tell me to shut up, okay? You have to tell me the truth. I deserve to know the truth. I don't have time to contemplate on your missed signals. By the way, you know what? I am sick and tired of your manipulations. You have always made me feel small but this time round I am going to stand for myself. So listen to me and listen to me clearly. Beta Ian, what is going on?" Cynthia asked as she suddenly halted and crossed her hands in front of her.

Alpha Kane was ensuring that everything was on point in the dining table when he heard her scent. She smelled like roses and this made him feel that he had made the right choice.

When he listened closely to their conversation, he heard her questioning Beta Ian about the dinner and that is when he decided to intervene.

He quickly adjusted his bow tie and made for the door. They were next to his house hence he cleared his voice to gather their attention.

Cynthia turned and her eyes locked with that of the Alpha. Alpha Kane was so handsome and she could feel herself losing guard. Heck, if she could only have a one night stand with him.

"Good day your honor," Cynthia greeted him courteously.

"Your grace," Beta Ian added.

"My dear Cynthia Rose. I know that you are confused about dinner, I am sorry for planning it on short notice. Anyway, let me keep you informed about everything. I am a transparent guy unlike some people here. My beautiful Cynthia with a sweet scent of roses, it would be a pleasure to go on a dinner date with you. Will you please say yes to your Alpha?" Alpha Kane asked and Cynthia's heart rammed in her chest.

Alpha Kane has been her crush for the longest time and now he is asking her for a date? This is a dream come true.

"Yes, Alpha. Yes!" Cynthia did not think twice about her answer.

This is what she has always wanted for as long as she could remember.
