CHAPTER 27

ENDING THE PAIN.
"You must listen to me. You are my sister. For the longest time I thought that you were dead but look at you. You are here with you, you are really alive Daya. You don't know how happy I feel to know that you are alive," Witch Jezebel told Ava with a smile plastered on her face.

"I can never be your sister. You are wicked. I hate you so much,"Ava said through gritted teeth.

"Don't say that. You are the one who made me this way, Daya. Your absence is what made me bitter and also a bad person. I was trying to kill Alpha Kane to avenge your death. I did not know that you were alive all this while. I am glad that you are here with me Daya," Witch Jezebel said as tears formed at the slit ends of her eyes.

"Don't call me Daya. My name is Ava!" Ava countered.

"You will always be my Daya. My powerful little sister," Witch Jezebel said.

This was a dream to her. She never once thought that her sister was alive and she was none other than Ava.

Ava could not continue listening to her. She knew that Witch Jezebel was cunning. Maybe she was telling her that she is her sister so that she can use her again to kill Alpha Kane. Ava therefore decided to run away. She was going to look for Alpha Kane. She was going to beg him for forgiveness. Once he forgives her, they will look for a way forward and with that is coming up with damage control.

Alpha Kane kept running for his safety after Ava finally decided to let him be. He still could not get over the fact that the girl he loved so much would set him up. Ava knew how much he hated Witch Jezebel but still she brought him to her to have him killed.

Running without the werewolf powers was tiring and after running for about two kilometres, Alpha Kane became so tired.

He pushed himself to walk for a few yards which made him arrive at the cliff that underneath lay Virgin River. The River that separates their pack from other packs.

The River was a huge one and it is best known for breaking banks.

As Alpha Kane stood by the cliff and watched the bottomless cliff, he thought to himself, how about he kills himself and joins his father and mother in the afterworld. He had been through too much already and there is honestly nothing left for him to live for. He cannot lead the pack, Luna Cynthia will not respect him now that he has lost his powers and also Ava betrayed him,she wants him dead.

Alpha Kane could never think that he could ever kill himself but Ava pushed him to this. He started sobbing as he waited for that gut feeling to convince him otherwise about killing himself but it didn't come. Killing himself felt like the right thing to do.

He was scared to jump off the cliff because of the many rocks that were at the bed of Virgin River but he had to do it anyway. He wished for someone to find him at this moment and stop him but no one was in the vicinity.

Ava walked deeper into the rainforest as she called Alpha Kane's name. She had cried so much, her eyes were red and swollen but she couldn't stop crying.

The thing is ,she could not handle losing Alpha Kane. She loved him way too much. She kept on shouting his name but it did not seem to work. The forest was dense and her voice barely penetrated through a couple of trees.

She wanted to meet Alpha Kane and talk to him. She was going to do everything in her power to fix what had happened. Even if it will get her killed, she must do all for his sake.

Ava was also puzzled by Witch Jezebel referring to her as her sister yet she is a werewolf. Maybe she is confused after the collision with the hard ground. Ava did not believe that she had powers that everyone was talking about. She knew nothing about that. She knows that she is purely a werewolf. She is not Daya, the powerful girl witch Jezebel was talking about.

Ava realised that she was wasting so much time walking and calling his name. She could feel that Alpha Kane needed her and therefore she had to find him fast.

She had to do something real quick.

Alpha Kane closed his eyes. His heart was palpitating loudly and he was sweating profusely. What he was about to do was not easy. It was frightening but that seemed like the only way out. He closed his eyes and counted to three.

He wanted to go ahead and throw himself off the cliff but he could not do it. Instead, he went on his knees and started sobbing. He cried ferociously as he tried to let out his pain and hurt that was eating him alive.

He cried for a few minutes and once he let out all that hurt, he felt that there was no need to end his life. He deserves a second chance and he was going to make better decisions. This is life anyway. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. The important thing is to understand that even if we are hit the hardest, we need to get up and try again.

With this in mind, Alpha Kane decided that he was going to avoid Ava like a plague. He was going back to the pack and then he would ask Luna Cynthia for forgiveness in front of every member of the pack. He is going to renew his vows with her before everyone. The two of them will avenge what Witch Jezebel did and they will banish Ava from the kingdom for treason. After that, the pack will be peaceful and he will live happily ever after with Luna Cynthia by her side. She will give him so many pups who will make him happy.

Luna Cynthia loves him and she is loyal to him and she is actually the one who is making him give life another chance.

As Alpha Kane was standing to head home, he slipped and he fell off the cliff. His body went stiff and he knew that he was definitely going to die. It is over for him.

His life ended because of a bitter betrayal from his lover, Ava. He was right when he said that Ava was going to be the end of him one day. His prediction has passed.

Ava realised that it was pointless looking for him in human form. She quickly transformed into her wolf and started sniffing him as she followed his scent.

Well, she was too disturbed earlier with what Witch Jezebel had said to her to recall that she could actually sniff her lover Alpha Kane and locate him.

Ava ran as she followed his trail of scent. One kilometre in and she did not give up. She was going after the man that she loves more than anything else in the entire universe.

She kept running and finally she ended up at the cliff when suddenly his scent disappeared. Ava wondered what might have happened when it hit her that he might have jumped off the cliff and ended his life.

I mean, where else could he be?

Ava howled and groaned in pain as he ran down the hill.She could not believe that Alpha Kane ended his life because of her.

She wanted to kill herself too. She rolled downhill and tried to hurt herself but that did not let the pain and the bitterness that she was feeling inside disappear.

Virgin River had killed so many people. It is crystal clear that he is dead. There is no way that he might throw himself into the river then come out alive. That was almost impossible.

Amidst all the pain, Ava kept running down the cliff. She hoped that a miracle might have happened and Alpha Kane would be alive if not, she wanted to see his body and mourn the death of his lover.

She felt pathetic. She hated herself for allowing this to happen. She does not deserve to live after what she has done.

She sniffed around for his scent when she got to the bank of the riber but there was none. Maybe the river carried him after killing him.

Ava turned to her human form. She was in so much pain. She did not see a future without him. She closed her eyes and yelled, baby I need you. By baby, she was referring to Alpha Kane.

She wanted to see him or else she was going to end her life too and this would result in a Romeo and Juliet ending.

As she shouted his name with her eyes closed, she felt a kind of energy leave her body. It felt uncomfortable and she quickly opened her eyes.

"What!" She gasped when she saw Alpha Kane's body lying in front of her.

What happened? Does she have another kind of power because what the heck had just happened?

Did she just command his body to appear and it did appear?

She thought as she moved towards his body.
