CHAPTER 29

THE TRUTH.
Ava walked deeper into the cave and true to Witch Jezebel's word, Alpha Kane was sleeping on her bed.

Ava moved closer to him and observed him for a while. Ava realised that he looked better than when she left him by the river. Even though Witch Jezebel is a bad person, she did a kind thing by ensuring that Alpha Kane was warm in her
bed.

Maybe she has changed then. If she would still be the same evil witch, she would have decided to kill him.

Ava gave Alpha Kane a kiss on the forehead before she decided to give him time to rest. Being able to rest is what will make him recover easily.

Alpha Kane looked so adorable and Ava was grateful that he was still alive. This gave Ava the confidence that they would soon sort their issues out and be in love once again.

Ava walked out of the cave and sat at the nearby rock. So many things had happened in just a couple of hours and that was enough to weigh her down. She took deep breaths to calm her nerves but Witch Jezebel showed up and she knew that she was there to ruin her moods once again.

"Just because you helped Alpha Kane doesn't mean that the two of us are friends. I hate you so much," Ava said without looking at her.

"I am so sorry. You need to find it in your heart to forgive me. I did all it takes," Witch Jezebel begged.

"You wanted him dead. I will never ever forgive you for that," Ava warned.

"You need to forgive me for that because I was doing all that for you. I thought that I had lost you. Anyway, you will be pleased to know that now that you are here with me, I can never hurt you or him. " Witch Jezebel explained.

"You tricked me once and I learnt my lesson. I can not allow you to trick me once again," Ava chuckled.

"I want us to be okay. You are my sister and I have always loved you. As for Alpha Kane, I want him to be okay too because he is the love of your life and I want you to be happy. For the record, I have given him some drugs, hence I promise you that he is going to be okay in a couple of hours." Witch Jezebel explained.

Ava didn't know if she should believe her or not. She had betrayed her before. Ava did not say anything to her and therefore an awkward moment of silence reverberated in the air. No words were exchanged between the two of them at this time.

The silence was enough for the two of them to hear the wind whistling through the trees and the birds chirping, something that they had not paid enough attention to hear ever since they started sitting outside.

In this silence, Ava realised that she needed to know who she was. Things have happened that she can't explain and also she has been told things that make her question who she really is. She needed answers so that she could stay sane.

"Witch Jezebel, can I ask you something?" Ava asked.

"Yes, of course. Please call me Jez. That's what mom used to call me," Witch Jezebel hoped that she was going to refer to her as Jez.

"So, Jez, if you say that I am your sister Daya, how come I am able to turn into a werewolf?" Ava asked.

"I am glad that you have asked. "Jez said with a smile.

" Tell me," Ava begged.

" Well, after mom gave birth to me, dad left. He disappeared leaving me and mum. I have never heard from him ever since. Anyways mom ended up becoming a single mother. She did a good job raising me and I was happy when she finally found love. Little did I know that she ended up in a forbidden relationship. Werewolves and witches have never been friends ever since way before we were born and it has always been this way.

So, the fruit of that forbidden relationship was you my darling. That is why you are able to switch to your wolf and back. You have both the werewolf blood and the witch blood. " Jez explained everything to Ava.

Ava felt like her life had been a lie. All along, ever since she was young, she thought that Luna Cynthia's parents were her parents but that turned out to be untrue.

She wondered why they never told her the truth. Anyway, she finally got to understand why they always told her that she was special. To mean they meant that she was both a werewolf and a witch.

Things suddenly made sense. She understands why she doesn't resemble Luna Cynthia so much. Now that Jez has switched to being her normal self and not an old granny, she can see a slight resemblance between the two of them.

This is happening. It is actually true that she is sisters with Witch Jezebel aka Jez.

"You have explained everything so clearly and I now understand how my werewolf blood came along. What I don't understand is why you hate the pack so much. Why did you kill all the parents of the members of the pack? Why did you take away their werewolf powers?" Ava asked, paying attention to Jez's facial expression.

She wanted to understand the whole point of her actions. She has done many evil things and now that they are sisters, Ava wanted to know what pushed her to do all those horrible things.

"Well let me answer you. Daya, all was well. You were born okay and mom was fine too. A few months after you were born however, things went south. I was still young, but not too young to see what was going on. " Jez said as tears formed in his eyes.

This is the nightmare that she had been trying to forget for the longest time but it was all in vain. At least now that she has Daya with her, she feels just a little hurt thinking about what happened on that fateful day.

"Talk to me," Ava had to hold her hand when she realised that she was at the verge of breaking down.

Witch Jezebel couldn't do it. She watched in horror as tears started trickling down her cheeks. She had promised herself not to cry when she thinks of that fateful day but she couldn't do it anymore.

Her walls, her guard. Everything that held her up suddenly broke and she became so vulnerable. She however felt safe that she was showing her broken side to her sister. She was confident that she was not going to use her weakness against her.

Ava felt sorry for her. She hugged her tightly and allowed her to let out all her pain and hurt.

After Jez finally managed to calm down, she was ready to tell Ava the events of that horrible night.

"So, this is what happened sister. This happened on the night that I lost you," Jez said.

"Talk to me," Ava murmured.

"Well, we were okay. On that fateful night, you were asleep and mom was plaiting my hair. She was excited about how happy you turned out to be and she was telling me of how she loves the bond the two of us share when. She was telling me to always take care of you when suddenly someone kicked the main door open.

Mother hastily pushed me under the bed and started looking for ways to save you but a Large Black wolf came in and sucked blood and life out of her.

I couldn't cry. I was petrified as I saw my mother's body lying lifelessly on the ground.

I was so scared about what they did to you. One of them switched to their human form and I could hear them say that this is her, the fruit of their forbidden relationship. They mentioned that you deserved to die hence they left with you.

Ava, baby, I thought that they killed you. I was left alone from that day to date. I decided not to have friends. I wanted to be by myself as I find justice for mum and you. " She explained and started crying all over again.

Ava felt really sorry for her. She felt her pain. She pulled her closer to her and hugged her tightly.

She understood where she was coming from. She understood how the pack ruined her life when she was still a little girl.

That was a lot to take in. Ava found herself crying with her.

"Everything will be okay. I want you to know that soon things will be okay," Ava said after a long while of trying to find the perfect words to reassure her.

"Well, I did not want to be this way. I was a happy kid. They ruined my life and hence I turned out to be this evil and unwanted witch," Jez cried.

"So where is my dad , now?" Ava found herself asking.

"I really don't know but I heard that he was killed for being with mum. He was killed by Alpha Kane's parents," Jez explained and Ava could feel her heart literally bleeding.

"How dare they!" Ava said in anger.

"That's why I killed them. I wanted to kill Alpha Kane too but I ended up finding you," Jez explained.

"What happens now? " Ava asked.
