CHAPTER 37

BEAUTY WITH BRAINS.
Ava immersed herself into reading the pages of the book. She was just three pages into it when she realised that she could not do it with her sister's body lying dead in front of her. She definitely had to do something about it.

Now that she has accepted what had happened, she decided that she was going to give her a decent send off that deserves. She was a good person especially when she got to know her personally and therefore she had to do it.

What gave Ava strength to make peace with what had happened to her is that Jez had reunited with their mom. Their mom was robbed away from her at a very young age but now she is with her in the after world .

As for Ava,she realised that she had a reason to smile because she has two guardian angels looking down at her. That is her mum and her sister Jez.

Ava closed the book and kept it aside but she promised herself that it was not going to be for too long.

She then walked outside and identified a spot where she was going to bury her. Ava went back to the house and looked for something to cover her body with but she could not find any.

She then remembered that she could make things appear.

She took the wand and chanted for a coffin to appear. It did appear and she placed Jez in it, trying to join her head to her neck.

She thought this would be easy for her but she found herself crying in pain once again after she shut the coffin. It was hard to let go. She decided not to be hard on herself for feeling things so deeply. It is okay to cry when we feel overwhelmed with emotions.

Ava dragged the coffin out and she chanted a spell to make a fork jembe appear. She used it to dig a shallow grave for her. She placed her coffin inside and covered up with soul until her coffin was no longer visible.

Ava knew that this was the last day of mourning her hence she decided to say a few things to her.

"My dear sister Jez, you were so kind and warm when you realised that I am your sister. By now I know for sure that you were not a bad person. It was just the unfortunate situations that pushed you to be a bad person. You went too quickly and honestly I wish that you would still be here with me. I had already envisioned us being best of friends but now I can't do that anymore because you are no longer here with me. The truth remains that I miss you. I miss you so much and it really hurts me to let you go. I hope that you have reunited with mum and that she makes you happy. Till we meet again sister. Please, look over me. " Ava said before she wiped the tears that had streamed down her face. She threw some soil to her grave and walked away.

Ava decided that she was no longer going to cry for what had passed. She was going to think about her future. She was going to move on with her life.

She could not stay in a bloody stained cave hence she cleaned the place after making the bucket, mop and detergent appear. Maybe with time she was going to learn more spells like maybe cleaning spells and cooking spells.

She cleaned the cave until it was sparkling and she was proud of herself. Eventually, she showered and wore one of Jez's clothes.

She had not forgotten about reading. She was more than ready to continue reading the book. Not immediately though, she was hungry. She turned to her wolf and went uphill in the dense forest to hunt for hares. She devoured their flesh and felt so happy to be her wolf. Hares were definitely her favourite me.

Right now, Ava loved her both identities and she was not going to give up either of them.

Once she was full, she ran by the stream to drink water before she went back to the cave. She switched back to her human form and continued reading the book.

Thw book was talking about how she had so many powers and reading further she knew that by the end of the book, she would be able to use her powers to do great things. She was going to be a good witch, just like Jez wanted.

The fact that Daylight pack had declared a war on Midnight pack did not sit right with Alpha Kane. He wanted to do something to stop this war from happening because the pack members would surely die.

Alpha Daniel of Daylight pack was not a good person. He was ruthless. If he plans attacking them then he would really finish Midnight pack.

Alpha Kane figured that he had to do something to protect his people. He was not going to allow the war to happen. Not on his watch. The people need him the most at this time hence he has to show up for them.

Alpha Kane could not walk away anymore, so he decided to go and talk to Ava about the war. Back in the day, Ava was a good advisor and he knew abd he could feel it in his bones that Ava was going to give him a perfect solution.

Alpha Kane rushed back to the cave. He hoped that Ava was going to give him a warm reception. He hoped that Ava had found it in her heart to forgive him for not taking her seriously after she begged them to go home.

He was not sure of her reaction but he went ahead to go inside the cave after he reached there.

Ava was reading the book when she looked up and her eyes met his. For a moment, she could not believe that this had happened. Alpha Kane actually came back to be with her, once again. She was taken aback by his decision to come back to her.

"I know…" Alpha Kane started off but Ava interrupted.

"Alpha Kane, I am really sorry for blaming you for my sister's death. I am really sorry. I acted out of anger and that was so wrong of me . Please find it in your heart to forgive me," Ava begged.

Alpha Kane was not expecting her to be sorry. He smiled widely and that is when Ava picked the cue and went ahead to embrace him.

They all hugged for way too long before they broke apart.

"So, why did you come back?" Ava was curious to know.

"Well, I think Alpha Daniel of Daylight pack killed your sister," Alpha Kane said and Ava was shocked.

"What!" All along she thought that warriors from Midnight pack were the ones who killed Jez. They were the only people who wanted her sister dead.

"Why do you say so?" Ava asked.

"I want you to think about it. If it was Luna Cynthia and the warriors from Midnight pack who killed your sister, I would have my werewolf powers because they would have asked her to fix their powers back before they kill her," Alpha Kane explained.

"Wait, you are right. What you are saying is definitely true. If you are not able to turn and be your wolf then someone else did it," Ava agreed with him.

"So, Alpha Daniel did it because he has always wanted his pack to occupy our land. You know so well that our land is the best in the region," Alpha Kane added.

"Yes, that makes sense. Then, what are we going to do about this? This is a call for a war. To make matters worse, he knows the truth that we don't have werewolf powers except me," Ava mumbled.

"He knows our weakness and this will make things harder," Alpha Kane mumbled.

He was so tense. He knew that he had to act fast or else everyone in the Midnight pack would die in the war.

"What if it's not him? What if we are overreacting?" Ava asked, faltering Alpha Kane from his thoughts.

"What are you talking about ?" Alpha Kane implored.

"I can switch to my wolf and we can go and follow the scent of her blood. I am sure if it is Alpha Daniel, they will not be far from here. They are probably in the bushes celebrating their victory," Ava explained and it made total sense.

Aloha Kane couldn't help but think of how smart she was.

"Why are you staring at me?" Ava asked when she caught me staring.

"You have beauty with brains. I love you. I regret the day I rejected you because you will make the best Luna ever," Alpha Kane confessed, melting Ava's heart.

Damn, this man means so much to her. She had never stopped loving him more so now that he is telling her what she wanted to hear for a long time.
