CHAPTER 12

I MUST REVENGE .
Ava took a seat next to the window immediately she boarded the train. She was the only person leaving Midnight pack and this made her feel sad. This was unheard of. People barely left the pack, not unless they were banished, of which it was rare. She swallowed the bitterness tasting at the back of her throat and looked through the window as the train started moving. At this point, she barely held her tears, tears started rolling down her cheeks.

This was not the life that she wanted. All that she wanted was to be Luna of Midnight pack and Alpha Kane to be the Alpha of Midnight pack. Ava loved him so much and she also loved the pack hence she believed that the two of them would make great leaders. It is such a shame that Alpha Kane rejected her and in turn she was forced to leave the pack.

Her parents had warned her against leaving the pack but she had no other way out. She had to leave so that she can heal.

How could she stay and watch her sister flaunt with Alpha Kane yet he was hers before Cynthia took him away from her? How could she sit there and watch her get pregnant for him and give him so many pups, something that she had always wanted for the longest time. She could not stay there.

Who knows, maybe the world has a different plan for her. Maybe by going to the city, she will be able to find new love. Maybe her mate is a human or a werewolf from another pack.

Ava swallowed the bitterness and wiped away the tears from her eyes. She had cried so much and she needed to stop. This was a new beginning for her and she needed to be happy.

The journey to the city took seven hours but Ava barely slept. She kept staring through the window until dawn. Once she alighted from the train at Kisumu City, she started looking around for a house to stay. Specifically she wanted an AirBnb. After scouting for it for an hour or so, she managed to get one.

She paid with the little amount of money that she had with her and moved her things into her tiny little space. The space she had rented was more of a studio apartment but she was going to make it her home.

Ava took a warm shower and changed into a comfortable pair of clothing before she left the house. She was starving. She barely remembered the last time that she ate. Her stomach was rumbling. Ever since the rejection, she had lost her appetite due to the heartbreak and this was not good for her health.

She finally walked into a restaurant and ordered fries together with chicken and juice. Some men nearby stared at her as she ate but she ignored them. She was not about to flirt with anyone. She was beautiful, yes but she was not ready to move on. Not with anyone.

I guess this is how the breakup affected her. Up to now, she considers love as nothing but a scam and a waste of time. Alpha Kane is the biggest scammer of all because he lied to her for three years. She would have done a lot with the three years that he wasted for her.

Heck, she needs to stop thinking about him. He means nothing to her right now. He is her past and someone that she wishes she had never met before because of how he rejected her making her look like a fool.

After paying for the meal, Ava decided to look for a job. She was running out of money and yet in order to survive the city life, she needed so much money.

Ava walked along the streets of Kisumu City asking for any odd job that did not need any qualification whatsoever but at the end of the day, she did not manage to get one.

She went home feeling disappointed. She hated her life. She really did not understand why things were becoming difficult for her. Did she do something that offended the Moon goddess and this was her punishment?

She could not fathom.

Ava made herself a cup of coffee and tucked herself in bed. Even if she wanted to move forward so badly, it dawned on her that she won't move forward as long as Cynthia is dating Alpha Kane.

Ava was a great painter in Midnight pack. She did so many portraits of great people. She even met with Alpha Kane when she was looking for flowers for her painting project . But she suddenly had to give up her passion because of the bitter betrayal of her sister and the man that he had been dating for the past three years. As we speak, her workshop is accumulating with dust because she gave up everything and left the pack.

Walking along the streets of Kisumu made her realise that this was not the type of life that she wanted. She does not belong here. She needed to go where she belongs and that is, home. She needs to continue with her painting because that is the only thing that fulfils her heart, soul and mind.

But she cannot go back like this. Not like this. She had promised herself to go back when she is ready to avenge what Alpha Kane and Cynthia did. She cannot find it in her heart to forgive them. They don't deserve her forgiveness. They deserve to go through the same pain and hurt that they caused her.

When she goes back to the pack, she intends not only to go back to painting but also to assume her position as Luna. Cynthia went behind her back and assumed that position but that position belonged to her. As for Alpha Kane, he has to pay for humiliating her, even though she has some feelings for him, he must be punished for his betrayal first.

Ava wanted to go back when she is more beautiful and powerful. It would be better if she works on that immediately. The earlier, the better. She cannot wait for that moment when she would seduce Alpha Kane and make love with him so that she can hurt her sister Cynthia. She can't wait to show her that she is the only one who owns Alpha Kane's heart, just as she had mentioned ealier. Heck, she needed to go back home, as soon as possible.

The next morning, at the crack of dawn, Ava changed to a sports bra and a pair of joggers. She left her place jogging until she reached a gym that she had located the previous day.

She found the first workout session in progress hence she joined in. She was full of enthusiasm. She worked out hard enough, sweated profusely and at the end of it all, she was so tired.

This is actually the reason she hates training to fight or any other hard physical exercise. Fighting and working out make her extremely tired. She would rather go for a walk. Before Witch Jezebel took their powers, she loved walking in the evening after she turned into her wolf. Her fur was light brown in colour and she had green eyes. Her wolf enjoyed hunting small squirrels and wild hares.

Other than walking to be fit, she never engaged herself in fighting tournaments. That was Cynthia's cup of tea and she became even more aggressive in the ring after the death of their parents. May their souls rest in peace.

Ava called the trainer of the session at the end of it and he gladly accepted her call.

"Hi dear. I have never seen you before. Are you really from this town?" The trainer asked her.

"Well, actually you are right. I am new in town. This is my second day here. But that is not why I called you here," Ava said.

"Okay, talk to me, my name is Billy by the way," Billy said, stretching his hand to meet hers.

"Hi Billy, my name is Ava," Ava said, shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you Ava. How can I help you?" Billy implored.

"Well, I wanted to ask you a question. " Ava said.

"Go ahead," Billy said with a friendly smile.

"How long will it take me to come out stronger after intense training? I want to learn boxing and I also need to gather some muscles," Ava explained.

"Wow, I love your enthusiasm. But to achieve this, you need so much commitment and discipline. I am not going to lie to you, it won't be easy. To answer your question, It will take you almost a year to achieve what you want. On the bright side, I will be here to help,"Billy said and suddenly all her hopes were crushed.

One year was such a long time. By the time she gets back home, Cynthia would be already pregnant or she might have popped some pups.

"No!" Ava never knew that she had shouted till Billy said something.

"Is everything okay?" Billy implored.

"I have to go, excuse me," Ava said before running out of the gym all the way to her house. She quickly removed her clothes and stood in the shower. She allowed the cold water to run down her body as she thought about what Billy had said.

One year is so long. She needed to find another way. She needs this revenge soon. Very soon.
