CHAPTER 30

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
"Honestly Daya, I have decided to put what happened in the past behind me. I am no longer going to avenge what happened. Right now I want to focus on bettering our relationship, as sisters. I want us to be close just as mum wanted" Jez said.

"What about me? You are my sister, but what about my pack? They are my people. I cannot let go of them. Also, there is something that has been bothering me. The pack members hate you and they want you dead," Ava admitted.

"You will have to talk to them. I am never going to harm them. I have changed. Look at me now I am even caring for the Alpha. That should be enough for me to earn their forgiveness. They need to let it go," Jez defended herself.

"It is not as easy as you think. You took their powers away and also killed their parents. That is not easy to forget. " Ava reminded her.

"What will I do now Ava?I cannot bring their parents back to life. Also, I don't want to die," Jez said with a shaky voice.

"Calm down," Ava begged. She did not want to see her in that state.

"No Daya, don't tell me to calm down. I cannot die. I want to be with you. This will make mum happy," Jez countered.

"Calm down. We will think about what to do next. Just relax," Ava tried to convince her.

"I don't want to lose you," Jez scoffed.

"No, you won't, you will never lose me" Ava said and decided to reassure her more by hugging her tightly.

Jez was happy that she had reunited with her sister Daya. She hoped that the pack was not going to take her away from her just like the way they did many years ago.

Alpha Kane tried to open his eyes and when he finally did, he was taken aback when he found himself in a very dark room. Where the hell was he?

He was tucked in bed and this made him jump to his feet. What the heck is going on ? Upon jumping up, his body, especially his lower back was hurting but he had to persevere through the pain because he wanted answers.

Where is he and what is he doing here? Where is her lover Luna Cynthia? She should be here with him.

Alpha Kane forced himself to walk out despite the pain and that is when he realised that he was in a cave that belonged to the evil witch.He was still figuring out what the heck happened now that he ended up here when he found Ava hugging the witch.

Alpha Kane's heart beat so loudly threatening to reap out of its cage as anger took over him. He clenched his fist. How dare she! Witch Jezebel killed their parents and took their powers but Ava was hugging with her.

Ava broke from the hug quickly when he heard Alpha Kane clearing his throat.

Ava was so excited to see him fully recovered and therefore she went to hug him tightly. Alpha Kane is finally back to normal quickly. Jez is indeed a healer. Anyways this is the best surprise ever.

Seeing Ava laughing with the same woman who ruined their lives made Alpha Kane's stomach churn. He pushed Ava away. He did not want her to touch him with her filthy hands. Ava fell on the nearby small rocks with a thud but she stood up and started chasing after him.

"Don't go away. You have not fully healed," Ava cried and Alpha Kane decided to stand and give her a piece of his mind once and for all.

"Leave me alone. Besides, aren't you the one who wanted me dead? Stop with the hypocrisy Ava,!" Alpha Kane said.

"I did not push you off the cliff. I did not want to kill you. Why did you want to end your life?" Ava found herself questioning.

"Leave me the fuck alone!" Alpha Kane yelled at her and Ava felt so hurt.

Why is he failing to appreciate her after everything that she has done to fix what happened between them. She is literally the reason that he is alive today. Why is he being so cold towards her?

"You should thank me. I am the reason why you are alive today. " Ava said even if her voice cracked as she spoke.

"No, I will never thank you for anything. The only person that I should be thanking is Luna Cynthia. She warned me about you but I did not listen. I have later come to learn my lesson the hard way. With that said, leave me alone. I don't care about you. I don't love you. I never have," Alpha Kane shouted and Ava felt her heart breaking into half. She could not stop tears that were rolling down her eyes.

She had promised not to tell him about Luna Cynthia's betrayal but Alpha Kane has pushed her to do this.

"Luna Cynthia has betrayed you. If you are going to the pack, there is nothing left for you there," Ava spat.

"What are you talking about?" Alpha Kane chuckled.

"Luna Cynthia turned the pack against you. She appointed Beta Ian as the new Alpha. He is now Alpha Ian of Midnight Pack," Ava told him the truth.

"You are such a disgusting liar. Luna Cynthia could never do such a thing to me. You are just bitter and hurt that I chose her over you. You know what, she is better than you in a million ways," Alpha Kane said these mean words to hurt Ava.

Ava couldn't talk anymore. Those words got to her. Her body started shaking in pain. Her tears betrayed her because she ended up crying uncontrollably.

"I cannot sit here and watch you hurt my sister," Witch Jezebel who had been listening and watching from a distance decided to intervene because Ava was sobbing. She was in so much pain. It is true that she loved Alpha Kane genuinely. It is such a shame that Alpha Kane is taking her for granted.

"Sister? Wait, what did I miss?" Alpha Kane laughed and this tore Ava's heart. She was hyperventilating. She wanted to die. She could not handle this second rejection from Alpha Kane.

"Ava is the sister your father took away from me!" Witch Jezebel said with a shaky voice. Each time she recalls the event of that fateful night,she is filled with so much pain.

"Just shut up. The both of you! You are just bitter. By the way Witch Jezebel, I am not done with you. I will never be okay with you until the day I will kill you with my bare hands. She might have forgiven you but I won't. " Alpha Kane made it clear before he started walking away.

Jez was overcome with rage, she wanted to clock him and kill him but she had to let him leave because of her sister. Ava loves him.

"Don't let him leave," Despite the pain that he caused her, Ava begged for him to stay.

No this is more of an obsession. This was not love. How can Ava continue wanting him despite the pain that he had made her go through?

"That is enough," Jez helped Ava up and walked with her to the cave.

She wanted her to stop crying over that loser. Alpha Kane of all people does not deserve her tears. She should get over him.

"I don't know how you will take what I am about to tell you but I will say it anyway. Alpha Kane does not love you. Love is not supposed to be pain. He is not supposed to tell you hurtful words even if he is angry," Jez advised Ava.

"No, I am the one in the wrong. I am the one who hurt his feelings," Ava blamed herself.

"Don't be too naive. He doesn't want you Ava. Open your eyes and see. If he wanted you, he would never have rejected you in the first place," Jez added but Ava did not want her advice.

"Stop, stop talking. You are making things harder than what they already are," Ava said.

Jez decided to keep quiet. Her sister was in so much pain and she did not want to add to that. They will talk about all this later, when she calms down.

As Ava tried to manage the pain from the heartbreak, she wished that Alpha Kane would come back to be with her. Despite everything that he has done that has hurt her, she still loves her.

"I want you to rest. Cry for him now but once you are done crying, don't ever cry for him again. You deserve a good man who will love you unconditionally. Not him. '' Jez advised Ava.

"What if he is the one for me? Relationships are rocky. Anyway, I don't expect you to understand because you have never been in one," Ava said.
