CHAPTER 23

BITTER BETRAYAL.
Beta Ian looked at Luna Cynthia then he realised that he could not be in her team. He cannot forgive someone who threw her to jail, tainting his reputation. She betrayed him when she got a chance to do so, how sure is he that she cannot betray him again. The fact remains that Luna Cynthia cannot be trusted.

"I am sorry but I cannot do it. I cannot be in your team. You betrayed me and I cannot forget. I hate Alpha Kane and how I would wish to carry out my revenge but I can't do it with you. I better do it alone because who knows if this is another plan to ruin me as the Beta of this pack. I am tired of fighting with you, I want to do my roles and be loyal to the pack. The pack needs a Beta who cares about them and works well," Beta Ian said and Luna Cynthia frowned. She had not expected a no from him.

Luna was confused. The desk was too good for him to turn her down. Why could Beta Ian give up on being the Alpha just because of how she treated him in the past. He should fight for his selfish interest in this quest and be mad at her if that is what he wants later on once they get what they want.

"Come on, you will be the Alpha. You will be the first in command. This is what you have always wanted," Luna Cynthia begged him hoping that he was going to say yes to her.

"No, I don't want to be in your team, okay. Stop convincing me because I am never going to change my mind. " He shrugged and this made Luna Cynthia realise that she is all alone in this. No one was ever going to stand with her during this harsh storm. She is all alone.

In this moment, the betrayal from Alpha Kane and Ava hit her once again and this prompted fat tears falling from her eyes.

"I am sorry but you have to leave my house! I need to be by myself!" Beta Ian commanded and Luna Cynthia did not have an option but to leave the house.

She hastily walked back to the Alpha's house but on her way there, she was stopped by one of the pack members who was concerned about her.

She lied that everything was fine but the truth is she was falling apart. What they did to her hit her hard and she could not think that she could ever recover from this situation.

Luna Cynthia tried tucking herself in bed so that she could sleep and forget about all that had happened but she couldn't. Her heart was hurting and she felt nauseated. She wished that she had not closed that stupid window. Now, she has to live with the fact that Alpha Kane doesn't love her and it hurts.

She got off the bed and walked to the closet where she started packing her things. She was going to leave the pack. There was nothing left for her. She wished that she had not fallen to Alpha Kane's charms. If she did not love him then how he treated her today could not hurt her this much.

Ava won, fair and square. She had to leave the pack so that she could be Luna.

"I am proud that you defended our relationship. At that moment I believed that you really love me," Ava thanked Alpha Kane as they walked away from where they had left Luna Cynthia being dramatic and crying like a little baby.

"I shouldn't have chosen her baby. I should have chosen you as Luna. It has always been you my love. I love you more than life itself. I should never have rejected you," Alpha Kane told her of how he felt at that time. .

"You have me now and therefore you have nothing to worry about. You will never lose me again" Ava assured him.

Alpha Kane stopped walking and pulled her close to him. He lifted her up and Ava snaked her legs around his waist.

"Promise me that you will never leave the pack. Your absence scared the hell out of me. What if I lost you?" Alpha Kane asked as he maintained eye contact with her.

"I promise baby," Ava was glad that Alpha Kane noticed her absence. This means that even after the rejection, he still loved her. The love that he has for her has never changed.

"Ok, baby,"

Alpha Kane started kissing her but Ava pulled away when the kiss escalated.

"Not here. Carry me. I want us to go to the rain forest," Ava suggested.

"That is far away, besides I want you now. I am turned on and you know how aggressive my wolf gets when I am turned on. I want you so badly. I want to own your body just like the olden times," Alpha Kane confessed.

"This is my only request. You owe me this favor after everything that you have done to hurt me," Ava victimized herself so as to get what she wanted. Witch Jezebel had assigned her her first job and she did not want to fail.

"Okay baby. You know that I can never say no to you. I love you. Your wish is always my command," Alpha Kane said before he kissed her briefly.

Ava gave him a nod after breaking the kiss and Alpha Kane aligned with his inner wolf before he turned into a very huge wolf with his dark fur. Ava caressed the fur of his neck then head. She wished that she could switch so that they could enjoy running through the grass together but she still had to keep her werewolf powers a secret. Otherwise Alpha Kane would know that she made a deal with the enemy and this will make him turn against her.

They will even banish her from the pack. The pack has zero tolerance towards the people who betray the pack.

Ava climbed the back of Alpha Kane and held him tightly as he ran across the lands. In a couple of minutes, they were in the rainforest. Alpha Kane shifted to his human form as he grabbed her.

He wanted her already. He had waited for her for way too long. He was busy undressing her and at this time Ava hoped that Witch Jezebel would show up any minute from now. She wanted them to meet up and solve the conflicts that they had been having, for the longest time.

"Why did you want us to come this far? So that you can scream your lungs out when we fuck," Alpha Kane asked with a smirk playing on his lips as he removed Ava's short leaving her with only the fishnet.

"Damn,you are so hot. Come here," Alpha Kane pulled her close to him. He wanted to own her as he made love to her.

Alpha Kane was about to open the zippers of his trousers to let out his long erect shaft when she saw her appear.

She was an old witch with several wrinkles. She had that evil wand in her hand. Alpha Kane pushed Ava aside and moved closer to her. How did she find him? Wait, was this a plan?

"Finally, I met the last of them. The Alpha of Midnight pack," Witch Jezebel said before she burst into a rib cracking laughter.

At this point, Ava was confused. She did not understand why Witch Jezebel decided to show up like an old granny. Secondly, the way she laughed when she saw Alpha Kane was sarcastic. Like she was going to do a bad thing to him.

"I will kill you!" Alpha Kane was shaking in anger. He wanted to grab her by the neck once and for all and kill her but Witch Jezebel who sensed danger clocked him. There was nothing that he could do to hurt her despite all the pain that she had put them through.

"Your work is done Ava. Please leave us alone," Witch Jezebel requested and at this time, tears formed at the slit ends of her eyes.

Ava could sense trouble. She could feel that witch Jezebel wanted to hurt Alpha Kane. It finally dawned on her that she loves him. She was no longer after revenge. She wanted what they had before, true love.

But isn't this too late for that?

Witch Jezebel already has Alpha Kane and she can easily kill him.

Alpha Kane popped his eyes out as his heart broke in half. He could not believe that Ava of all people betrayed him like this. She said that she loved him. But is this love, really? A love filled with bitter betrayal?

If she loved him as she normally says then she would never have betrayed him. She is a liar. Luna Cynthia was telling the truth. Ava is a liar.

"You piece of shit! I will kill you with my bare hands!" Alpha Kane threatened Ava when he looked at her.

"Shut up! How will you get revenge when I am going to kill you? Your kind killed my sister and therefore I am going to kill you today!" Witch Jezebel said without blinking.
