Wedded to the monster Alpha II
Marsai’s POV
Fenrir turned to me and held my hands in his, making me flinch as I stared into his grey eyes.
"And as your Alpha and husband, I proclaim you Luna over this pack," he said with a smirk, it was as if that was all that mattered to him. "All hail the Luna"
"All hail the Luna!" Everyone responded back.
"Congratulations, Alpha Fenrir." Rudolph bowed, "and Luna Marsai." I sighed inwardly. I was now married, I was now the wife of the person who had destroyed my life in less than a week. I felt so helpless knowing there was nothing I could do, Fenrir escorted me to the throne and sat down.
"Sit," he told me as I stood in front of the Luna throne, "Sit, Luna Marsai."
I gulped. Well played, Fenrir. I sat gingerly with a stoic smile on my face. This isn't the end, Fenrir. I swear I'll get away from here as soon as I can, and I'll make you pay.
The thoughts running through my head calmed me for a while.
Soon enough, the celebrations started and the room was filled with fake laughter, music, food and lots of other entertainments, ones I didn't care for.
"Let's dance,” Fenrir said, pulling me up as we walked to the middle of the room. The music went slow, his hand finding its way to my waist as he waltzed me around, his menacing grey eyes not leaving mine for a split second. He danced pretty well, for someone who acts like a monster. Eww, why am I thinking of his dance expertise? I must be crazy.
I tried to look away, but it was pointless, he pushed my face back to him again, over and over again. It was embarrassing. As soon as the music stopped, I wiggled out of his hold.
"I…uh…I need to get something to drink." I didn't wait for his answer and bolted in the direction of the drinks table.
Heavens, please give me strength. I could hardly take this anymore. Tears were building and choking my throat. I'd always imagined my wedding to be something wonderful and spectacular. I envisioned marrying that special someone- my destined mate, having butterflies in my stomach, and getting all giddy when I see him… waiting for me at the altar.
I would happily dance and waltz with him and my parents…..my parents…. hold yourself Marsai. My parents would give us their blessings. But look what happened now. My wedding feels like a funeral to me, I'm not happy at all, and instead of butterflies or feelings of giddiness—all I feel is anger, hurt, and hate.
My parents aren't by my side. There was no one to bless my marriage, no friends, not even my best friend, Leah, or well-wishers, no true laughter and genuine smiles. No love. Just me and a possible demon. Perhaps the devil himself.
What if he was sent here?—I wondered. Where the hell did he even come from? Who was he anyway?
It was too late to worry about that now. Far too late. He was here and it seems like he was here to stay.
"Luna?" I heard someone say, but I didn't respond. For a second I forgot about my new given position until the person tapped me.
Turning around, I met the fidgeting figure of a woman, short and chubby with wispy blonde hair that had now been tinted with grey. She was one of the pack Elders, I had forgotten her name, but I was wondering what she wanted to talk to me about.
"Congratulations on your wedding, Luna Marsai," she said, holding the edge of her pale green dress that hugged her chubby body in undesirable ways.
"Thank you" was all I said as I prepared to turn away and start initiating my escape.
"I know you don't want this," the words floated like a whisper to my ears and I looked back at her.
"Pardon?"
"I can help you escape, Milady." I paused and looked at her squarely. Help me escape?
"How did you…." I paused. "What are you talking about?"
The woman held my arm and edged closer to me, keeping a tight smile on her face as she talked to me, "I can help you run away from here Marsai. You don’t deserve this, you don’t deserve to be married to a monster."
I gulped as I looked around. I didn't know if Fenrir was looking at me right now so I poured myself a cup of some juice and sipped it, slowly, "How?"
"Tonight. There's a meeting that the Alpha and we the Elders have to attend, it will give you ten minutes, max"
I took another sip, "Why are you helping you?,"do you know that you could get killed?"
"Yes, Luna, but—"
"Elder Fiona, evening." Rudolph's voice came from behind me and I almost choked on my drink.
"Is something wrong?" He asked with a raise of his brows." You were both engrossed in whatever you were talking about."
Elder Fiona shook her head and immediately, "I was just congratulating Luna Marsai here on her wedding and giving her some…umm…pep talks on marriage life." she smiled unconvincingly that I had to look away. She shouldn't blow our cover!
"How very nice of you" Rudolph said, without smiling back.
"Yes," she cleared her throat.
"Is that all? I mean I'd love to…hear this, pep talk" Rodulph asserted, and I turned sharply to blink at Elder Fiona, who coughed and shook her head.
"No, we are done. Excuse me." She said and walked away. I swallowed as I turned to Rudolph, trying so hard to keep a straight face. I can't trust him, he was Fenrir's Beta and held strong loyalty to him, and if there was one thing I knew about Rudolph was his blind Loyalty. Even my mother could never trust him to keep something from my father.
"Are you okay?" He asked me and I nodded.
"I'm fine"
"Good, Alpha Fenrir is looking for you." great!
