Accepting him willingly

Fenrir’s POV

Elena and Leah were the first to appear after I had growled my entrance into the house. I had used the front door after I leaped over the gate, flinging it open and scaring the old butler that stood there, half to death.

I grinned inwardly as I saw deep fear in their eyes when they both looked at me, shivering visibly. I certainly looked much more terrifying than before and I knew it. I could feel it.

Elena screamed first. Loud and pitchy as her body visibly shook as she held onto the skirt of her bulky dress, and the arm of her other sister who was letting short screams out of her mouth as if she was going to faint at any moment.

The servants started to arrive, rushing into the scene and probably wondering why their mistresses were screaming. The first servant that saw me was a young girl, her pale brown eyes opening in shock as she let out an ear-piercing scream, and fell to the ground trying to crawl backward, that's how everyone else started coming. Screaming again in fear.

How pathetic…

I should probably rip their voice boxes out of their throats since they have no better use for it..

The screams had started to annoy me. They sounded like bats in caves and looked like drenched cats. Idiots.

Anyway I didn't come here for any of them, I came here for—Marsai? Huh!

What the—

My brows furrowed as I watched the approaching figure of Marsai, she was dressed in a very simple outfit; a flowing green dress and a scarf around her waist, and her hair was braided down her back, she looked so…fragile, yet simple.

But what exactly angered me was the fact that she was walking beside Rudolph. SIDE BY SIDE!

I felt my insides heat up and my brows furrowed deeper as I watched them. Watched them…the way Hawk watched his mate and the Beta…

No! Shit, no...

She hadn't noticed me yet, they both hadn't. They were still asking Elena and Leah why they looked scared and why they had screamed. While all of this was going on, My gaze was just locked on one person…no, it wasn't Marsai who was still a little distracted, it was that asshole…Rudolph.

Yeah…Rudolph.

He eventually looked back and I revelled in his fear. It was extremely satisfying, he looked like a drenched cat, no.. someone who was staring face to face with the person who can end his life because that was exactly the scenario here. I was about to end his life.

His eyes opened wide in shock and his mouth couldn't utter a single word.

"I don't know how he got in…" Leah whispered as she edged closer to him. But Rudolph didn't reply, he was just shivering like his sisters.

My gaze shifted for a moment to the whimpering form of Leah and then back to him.

"Marsai…" he called her name, my mate's name. How dare he! I shifted my gaze to her, she was looking at me.

If there was one thing I refuse to do in my life is to let history repeat itself. I will not, I repeat, I will not lose Marsai to Rudolph over my dead body. Hawk, the previous owner of this body might have done so, he might have not been brave enough to fight for what was his, what rightfully belonged to him but not me…no, never me.

I don't care what he is up to but I will never allow Rudolph to even think of taking Marsai from me, over my dead body. I'd rip his stupid brains out first.

The anger in me started bubbling and bubbling till I could literally feel it heat up the blood that ran through my veins, turning it as hot as lava. At least that's how it felt, the maddening rage intensifying with every breath I took, with every glare at that idiot.

Your time ends now, Rudolph.

I took my stance, very ready to attack, to grab him and fling him to the heavens if I could, when…when she took a step forward.

Yes, Marsai started to walk towards me on her own.

I didn't know what to expect or why exactly she was moving forward but I stayed and watched. The fact that she was coming to me was a huge step..a surprising one actually.

One step after the other until her beautiful self was standing willingly in front of me.

Her hazel eyes were trying so hard to hold their gaze with mine. She didn't flinch or look like she was ready to bolt away the next second, as she always did.

Strands of her hair curled around her head and I felt a strong urge to let them wound around my finger as I pushed them behind her little ear.

She smelt of wild roses…Heavens, the scent wavering up to my head and making me forget for a second my plan to remove Rudolph from existence. Her scent was stronger, it was more compelling and it beckoned strongly to me. It filled my nostrils and went to invade every space in my head. I started to feel...I don't know how but I started to calm down. The rage, the anger, the blood thirst, and the urge to see Rudolph's blood flow…all calmed, and started going down. I didn't know how she did it…

But I know it was all her.

I was still in the process of feeling the hotness of my blood cool down when Marsai surprised me yet again. We were still locking gazes when she took a step even closer to me, such that I could see the almost transparency of her eyes…it was like I was staring into a pair of polished Jade.

"Fenrir.." she called in her silky voice, she looked like she was searching for what to say while I was merely waiting for her to speak. But the next thing she did, shocked the both of us.

She—and I cannot stress this enough, with her own free will, opened her arms and wrapped them around my torso, placing her head on my chest.

Yes, Marsai embraced me! She embraced me!

Suddenly, I felt a force, a connection between the both of us. I don't know what it was actually but it was strong, I'm sure it was so strong that it probably moved Marsai to say the next shocking thing that shocked not only me, but every other person in the room who heard it.

"My mate.." she called.

She called me her mate.

Then there was an instant spark before my eyes as memories began to flood it. I saw past images and scenes and they were all of her.

There was the first time we met, a scene that was blurry then but not now…the day, my bloodlust took over and I had claimed lives at her birthday party…just the sight of her calmed me down.

I blinked and I was back in the room again. I looked down at the beauty wrapped around me. I could feel her take deep breaths, I let my hands trail down her back, going behind her knees as I picked her up, not missing the little gasp that escaped those lovely lips of hers.

Once she was adjusted in my arms, voluntarily putting an arm over my shoulders and the other on my other arm, I threw a glance over at the shocked trio in front of us. Especially at Rudolph, and when I did, I tightened my grip around Marsai's waste and smirked at him. Guess, your death got postponed.

I turned towards the door and readied myself to bring my wife back home with me. In a few seconds, I leaped from where I stood as I raced out of the house and into the open, the cold wind going through my short furs and Marsai digging her head deeper into my chest as she gasped deeply.

I was very fast and I knew it. I could feel the pressure of the wind against me. Instead of running, I was leaping through the air, hardly touching the cold ground.

As I ran by the town I heard the loud gasps and occasional screams from the people.

"Oh, heavens! Is that our alpha?" They screamed in shock.

"He's a real Guarana!"

"The rumors were true!"

"Look at him! He's so huge!"

The people continued with their remarks and murmurings as I passed them. They were standing at the side of the road, looking at us in awe.

"Who knew the Alpha would show himself to us in this form." an elderly man said as I sped past him.

"It's the princess—I mean, the Luna" a girl said to a friend ahead of me.

"He's carrying the princess, why is that? Is she hurt?" The other friend asked.

I decided to slow down a bit, when I heard what the next person said,

"Is she your mate, Alpha?" The person asked. I felt Marsai bury her head deeper into my chest.

"I think he's the one," another said. "Are you the man of the prophecy?"

Prophesy? What prophesy? What were these pack members talking about? I wanted to stop and ask but obviously, that won't be a good idea.

I wonder what they meant by prophecy…

I looked down at the angel in my arms that had suddenly stopped fidgeting, I found her staring ahead and when I followed her gaze I found out we were already home.

Passing through the gates and the entrance, I again ignored the gasps, screams and shrieks and headed straight for the Alpha chambers.

Once I reached the Alpha chambers, I again headed for the bedroom and very carefully placed Marsai down in between the soft covers of the bed.

She stared at me as she shifted further into the covers. I held her gaze as I shifted back to my human form. It was when I did that I noticed her eyes widened in shock and I was amazed to see her cheeks heat up and reddened. I wonder what she was….oh…oh, ah, I was naked.

Didn’t she find my nude self attractive?
