Accepted him, but not into her heart.

Marsai's POV

I took another step forward, my heart thumping wildly in my chest. I tried as hard as I could not to shake or show any form of fear if I was to prove anything to Rudolph.

Fenrir had never looked as terrifying as he did right now. He looked as dreadful as he was powerful, but I bit my bottom lips and took another step forward. I needed to do this, to not only prove a point to everyone else but to myself.

Can I by any chance calm Fenrir's anger?

He looked like he was about to rip someone's head off right now. It was scary I had to admit, with bloodshot eyes, growling canines… I wonder if I could calm him like the she-wolf calmed her guarana prince in the legend the storyteller was telling?

I mean since it was obvious that Fenrir was the Guarana and since I was his mate, is it possible that I could have the ability to calm him down? To cool his anger?

I took another step and soon enough I was standing right in front of him. His silver eyes sparkled with red glints as he stared back at me.

"Fenrir.." I didn't know what to say right now or what to do…

But the next thing that happened was something I might never be able to explain…I was standing in front of him and I suddenly felt this force..no, it wasn't a force, it was more like an instant connection, so strong that I didn't know when I took another step forward and found myself embracing Fenrir.

Yes.

I, Marsai embraced Fenrir at my own will..not exactly my will, but the force that pushed me.

What I hadn't expected was the feeling that enveloped me as I stayed in his arms. I felt…safe.

Heavens…I don't know what was happening to me right now, I couldn't explain the feeling—

"My mate.." I found myself muttering softly. Why I had suddenly said that, I also do not know. Was it because of the spark…the connection or whatever the hell I was feeling at the moment?

I had subconsciously placed my head on his chest and all I was hearing was his fast heartbeats that had started to turn slower and slower taking a calmer pace. It was…it was working.

His arms encircled my body as his palms brushed down my back. The fear I was feeling earlier was replaced by slight confusion and headiness. He reached behind my knees and in one swoop he swept me off my feet and in his arms. I let out an involuntary gasp as I tried not to look down or at anyone, my cheeks flushed red when I realized the position we were in right now.

Once he had waited for me to place my arms firmly around his shoulder…He stood more straight than before and turned towards the entrance, rushing out.

Heavens! The speed!!

Fenrir was as fast as the word, the wind blew across us as he leaped. Yes, he leaped high in the air barely touching the ground. I have never seen anyone run this fast in my entire life!

We went through the pack house, passing by onlookers who all seemed to have a lot to say. Fenrir didn't bother with them, he just sped through, amidst their gasps and shrieks.

Right now, I cannot begin to explain how I feel. I had expected to feel…. disgusted that I was in such proximity to him or annoyed that I'd let us ever get this physically close but no…I felt so safe like nothing can ever reach me because I could depend on the person whose chest I was currently cuddling into.

It was strange but that is exactly how I was feeling right now—

"Is that the princess, I mean—Luna?"

Oh, no…no, no..

I couldn't let myself be recognized, damn! I forgot to use my scarf!

I had come out of the house with the intention of not being noticed and now everyone will know I was here. And what was worse and more embarrassing? That I was seen in the arms of Fenrir, as he carried me and ran home.

After the first person recognized me, a few others did too. Each with their own individual remarks. One asked if I was hurt and why I was being carried and more embarrassment crept in.

Someone asked something that actually stuck in my mind, the question was actually directed to Fenrir.

The person asked if Fenrir was the man of the prophecy and I felt him slow down a bit to catch the question.

I know he probably knew nothing about this. He was a stranger before he took up power here so that was understandable but then who was going to explain it to him?

It got me wondering if he even knew he was the Guarana or what the guarana even meant.

I raised my head to look in front and found out we were almost at the main entrance of the Alpha house. As we passed the hallway with me still wondering why Fenrir hadn't made any move to put me down, I heard the screaming and gasping of everyone in our path, of course, the servants.

Fenrir pretended that he did not hear them or know that the reason for their screams was the fact that actual Guarana, one which was up to eight feet, was walking around in the Alpha house.

He took me to the Alpha chambers and went into the bedroom where he set me on the bed.

Now, I didn't know what was to happen, I just stared at him and he stared back. Soon enough, I b egan to notice him shrinking, I meant his height and his size. He was shifting back to his human form. He was now naked.

It was slightly embarrassing for me. I felt my cheeks heat up and I wanted so badly to tell him to put some shirt on. I mean, when he came to Rudolph's house he didn't look like he wasn't wearing anything, I could swear he had some trousers on at…

I just remembered something. At Rudolph's house, I had publicly called him my mate. I had said it in front of Rudolph, Elena, Leah, and their nosy servants who would probably be telling every other werewolf in the town by sunrise.

I just hope Fenrir does not expect any favors from me, he should not expect to be treated like my mate. The fact that I addressed him as one did not mean he was one to me.

I decided to tell him that, and let him know so that he shouldn’t expect any from me when something weird happens. I was looking up at him, at his face, trying not to look 'down' when he suddenly fell to his knees at the bottom of the bed.

What? Why is he kneeling before me?
