To see her smile
Fenrir’s POV
An expectant smile formed on her face. "Yes, Alpha?"
“Call in the first guard you see when you step out." I stretched and sat down on the damp bed, "oh, and close the door on your way out."
Soon, it was just me alone in the room. Me and my thoughts.
Last night was…ugh! What type of sick person was that? How could a normal person derive pleasure from pain, excessive pain?
“Alpha…” A guard stepped into my room and bowed low.
“Get me Rudolph.” I commanded, and in a few minutes, he was standing before me.
“You asked for me, Milord?”
I eyed him as I picked up my shirt that was hung on the bedpost and wore it. “Rudolph” I began.
"Milord?" He answered.
“When I asked you to bring me a woman, what did I say?”
Rudolph looked slightly confused, “you asked for someone beautiful…alluring to the eyes.”
I nodded as I finished buttoning the shirt, “yes, and the person you brought me is sick in the head."
Rudolph blinked in confusion, "how so, Milord?"
I sighed and stepped closer to him, "What kind of person derives pleasure from pain?"
Rudolph looked speechless, I'm sure he was shocked as well.
“Next time, if I ever ask you to bring me a woman, don't ever bring me someone like that”
"Yes, Milord…but I thought…"
I stared at him, "Thought what?"
He looked away. He couldn't say it but I already knew what he thought.
I took a step forward, my eyes digging through his. "You thought that since I'm such a monster, I would like someone who would find pleasure from the pain I always inflict, right?"
"No…Milord," he quickly shook his head as he stammered, looking for what to say. "It's not that, Milord…I just—"
"Enough, Rudolph" I sighed deeply. I really didn't have the strength for this, so early in the morning. I didn't care what he or anyone thought anyway. Except they were Marsai.
He quickly bowed in apology, "Yes, Alpha. I apologize for…what happened."
"It's fine. You can leave." He bowed and took long strides out.
That person, that woman, Trice or Tricia or whatever was someone I will never like to be around, ever again. I felt like she was encouraging that evil in me, that dark thing that ignites fury from deep within. Fury and rage that was getting harder to control. I remembered that even when I didn't want to hit her, she'd beg me to.
"Please, Alpha" she had begged, crawling towards me with an obvious bruise on her cheek.
"What?" I had been confused as to why she was begging and still coming closer.
"Hit me. Please hit me…." I had hit her, "Hit me again, harder…fuck! Hit me harder!
And I hit her again, watching as she climaxed heavily on herself.
I sighed as I walked out of the room. What a crazy night that was, instead of pleasure it was filled with pain. Pain that was constantly asked for. That was just sick.
Walking along the hallway, I stopped right in front of the Alpha chambers that I had Marsai locked up in.
"Milord," the two guards there bowed in salute.
"You're dismissed from here" I said simply and I watched them leave. Walking to the door, I sighed contemplating whether to knock or push it open then I remembered that I had it locked from the outside.
Opening the door, I was about to take a step in the direction of the door leading to the bedroom when I saw something curled up on the floor in front of me. Taking a step forward I found out it wasn't a thing but a person—Marsai.
She was on the floor, her knees folded to her chest fast asleep. I squatted over her and couldn't help but smile over how cute she looked right now. Her red hair seems to always have these beautiful curls in the morning that look like spun fire. Ah, she must be so uncomfortable, lying like that. I picked her up and went into the bedroom to lay her gently on the bed. I noticed she had changed her dress. She looked like an angel right now, the sunlight that pierced through the lace curtains on the window shone on her. I was tempted to touch her. I gently, ever so gently, pushed the strands of hair away from her face to look at her.
"Hmm…" she mumbled, shifting to lay on her side. I leaned in closer and the scent of roses drifted from her. Her pink lips were parted as she breathed in and out, they quivered slightly…Heavens! I wanted…to capture them under mine. I leaned closer again until my lips were hovering above hers…but I…I couldn't. I just couldn't.
Sighing, I walked out of the bedroom to leave her to rest. When I opened the door that exits the Alpha chambers, I was surprised to see Rudolph right outside.
"Milord.” He bowed.
I raised an eyebrow, " what are you doing here, Rudolph?" Beta or not, I didn't exactly like this guy.
"I..uhh…I have something to tell you, Milord. Something that you will find…to be in your favor."
I rolled my eyes and made to walk away. “What is it this time? Someone has something to say about my leadership?"
He immediately caught up to me. “No, no Alpha not that."
I halted, giving him a side glance."Then it's nothing important." I said before I continued walking.
"Milord, it's about Marsai." I halted again
"What about her?"
Rudolph cleared his throat, "Milord, I've noticed that for a while now you've been…trying to win the Luna's favor." He was right, but I wasn't going to admit it to him. I just waited for him to continue.
"I know a way you can do that, Milord. A way you can make….her happy."
Was that even possible? If it was, then of course I'd do it.
"Okay?" I tried to look as uninterested and nonchalant as possible.
"Yes, Milord and I can assist you. I just need your permission to invite her friends over."
Wait. What was he talking about? Marsai had friends?
"What friends?"
"Elena and Leah Aegenwulf. They are Marsai…I mean, the Luna's best friends"
"Aegenwulf? Isn't that your last name?"
He bowed, "yes, Milord. The ladies I speak of are my younger sisters.”
Well! The surprise keeps coming. So Rudolph here has siblings who turn out to be Marsai's best friends? People I didn't know existed like a few seconds ago.
"Right" I frowned.
"Yes, Milord. So if you could just—"
"Thank you, Rudolph. You've been most helpful" I gave him a hard stare as he bowed.
Tsh! I don't need his 'advice' on how to make MY wife happy. Though, the thought of Marsai even sparing me a smile was something I wanted to see badly. I have never seen her smile before. Does she have dimples when she smiles or does her beautiful eyes twinkle even more?
I looked up to see Rudolph already turning away. I knew I had to swallow my pride. The arrogance that wouldn't let me be vulnerable or ask for help.
"Rudolph." I cleared my throat awkwardly.
He turned and walked closer.
"Milord?"
"I'm sure they can make it after breakfast time, can't they?"
A boyish grin started spreading through his face, but he held it in, "Yes, Milord. I'll send for them right away."
Well, Fenrir. I think this is a huge step to close the gap between the both of you.
The feeling that I could make her happy made me…happy. It was strange, but I never actually liked to see her sad. It really affected me.
To see her smile. Ah. I could already smile just thinking of her happiness. Maybe, I could think of something else to do that will make my Marsai happy. A brilliant idea just hit me!
