Chapter 16 Out-of-Control Events
I looked at Anna suspiciously, and she looked nervous.
"Anna, I just want to see her as soon as I'm sure she's alive."
I pleaded with her, hoping she would say yes.
"Jenny, I'm sorry I can't let you go to her, Phil might not be alive if he finds out you've touched her."
Anna shook her head and rejected me again.
"Since she wants to go, let her go."
Ike said as he came around the corner from the hallway.
Anna frowned and sighed.
I followed Anna quietly, praying in my heart that Erin would be okay, that she would live.
At the end of the corridor, there was a small and dark room.
In the corner of the room, a chain was chained to a person.
It was Erin.
She was lying on the cold floor, without even a blanket, weak and shivering from the cold.
There was a broken plate by her side, which contained food that had long since it become moldy and could not be seen in its original form.
I covered my mouth in horror and looked at Erin through the glass of the window.
"Anna, we should help her."
I pointed in Erin's direction and whispered to Anna.
"Jenny, don't forget what you promised me, you should go, if you don't want to get her killed."
Anna replied firmly.
My heart felt like being pressed by a boulder, leaving me breathless and unable to even breathe.
Now Erin was like the previous me who was once imprisoned in a steel cage by Wells.
There were only left with helplessness, despair, and a life that kept fading away.
"Are you here to see my little pet?"
Phil's voice came from around the corner.
My heart started beating like crazy, signaling danger to me.
"Mr. Phil, I think you misunderstood, Jenny is not familiar with the way here, she just got lost, and I just ran into her and was about to take her back to her room."
Anna lowered her head and said respectfully.
I didn't say anything and kept my head down in silence.
"It's okay, but my pet smell like something else, which upsets me, and the only way to get rid of those offensive smells is to cover them with the smell of blood, don't you think so?"
Phil came to a stop in front of me and said to me in a very threatening manner.
Nervousness and fear made me breathe heavily and my body tremble.
What Ike said was true, Phil was sucking Erin s blood even more frantically because of my contact with her
I turned around and walked back with Anna, my hands were squeezing the corners of my coat and my nose was getting sore.
"Anna, I'm fine."
Holding by Anna, I tried to look relaxed and said to Anna.
She didn't say anything, just slowly let go of my hand and turned away.
But the scene that Erin was bitten on the neck hard and was crazily sucked blood by Phil filled my mind.
It turns out that in this world, kindness can be a sharp enough blade to kill people.
I walked back, lost in thought, past Klopp's study, and a conversation came from inside.
"The Lord Count, the incident of the blood race getting out of control is already the third time this month, although it is only some low-level blood race, we still can't let down our guard."
I was going to go back to my room and wait for Klopp, but what the man said made me unconsciously stop in my tracks.
Vampires out of control in the city?
Was it like Klopp's Killing Night?
"Deno, I will send someone to find out about this matter, where are those low-level Bloods now?"
Klopp asked, and his voice sounded a little angry.
"Who's out there?"
Deno spotted me, even though I stood outside the door without making any noise.
I gathered the courage to open the door and walked in.
"Sir, I'm sorry...I..."
I didn't know how to explain to Klopp that I wasn't supposed to know these things.
"Well, Deno, she's my pet. I'll come up with a solution to what you said as soon as possible, but until then, you need to increase the number of patrols and the number of people."
Klopp said to Deno.
I slowly looked up at him. He was wearing a mask that blocked half of his face, but I could still see a horrible scar on the right side of his cheek.
He was a little shorter than Klopp and was wearing a wide black cloak with a red rose pattern on his left shoulder.
The people under Klopp would have such iconic patterns.
Deno looked at me for two seconds and then quickly left the study.
"Don't be afraid, he just has something to discuss with me."
Klopp walked up to me and smiled.
I stood still with my head bowed and arms crossed.
Klopp didn t blame me. Whenever I saw him, there s always his gentle look.
Perhaps seeing that I had been standing next to the door of the room, Klopp came over, reached down, picked me up and walked over to the chair and sat down.
And I was leaning into his arms.
The document in Klopp's hand was different from what I had seen before, all written in Blood language, which I had not learned much of, and some were even characters I had never seen.
Because of what I had just heard about Klopp and Deno talking, I didn't dare to look at what was actually written on the document again and just leaned quietly into Klopp's arms.
The sound of Klopp's heartbeat, I could hear it clearly.
I didn't know how long it took, but I was a little tired.
"Jenny, it's all your fault! You're the one who let me be abused by Phil!"
Once again, the figure of Erin appeared in front of my eyes, who had an angry expression on her miserable white face, pointed at me and shouted.
"No, Erin, I didn't mean to...I'm really sorry, I didn't know things would turn out like this..."
I wished I could explain it to her, but the more anxious I was, the less I could say.
In the end, I could only cry in anxiety, but could not say a word.
"Jenny, wake up!"
It was Klopp's voice.
When I saw the worried look on Klopp's face, I realized I had another nightmare.
"Sir, I'm sorry..."
I choked up and apologized to Klopp. I must have made noises again.
"You know I don't blame you, I'm just worried about you, or is it because of those things in the past?"
Klopp asked, putting down the paper in his hand.
I didn't know how to answer his question, or how to save Erin.
There was a knock on the door from outside.
"The Lord Count, Mr. Phil is on his way to the lab with his pet and would like you to come over."
Ike said with some concern.
A bad feeling suddenly came over me and made me panic.
Klopp got up and led me to the lab that Ike had mentioned, and no one had ever mentioned Klopp's lab to me before this.
It was not until I reached the other side of the manor that I saw a small building-like structure, but it was still very ornate.
Klopp led me inside, and although I was prepared to face Phil, I was still taken aback the moment I saw him.
