Chapter 77: Flames Burning

Golden and red flames wrapped around Borkana, and I turned my head sideways not to see the gruesome image.
Borkana's screams were in my ears until he was completely turned into ashes.
The expression on Quintas' face was only calm.
He watched Borkana die, but he had no emotion, just quietly watching the burning flames.
"Jenny, thank you."
He looked back at me and said.
"Can you help me find Klopp?"
I asked as I caught up with Quintas and asked him.
"I know where he is, follow me."
Quintas said and led me in the direction of the palace.
"Why would Borkana do that to you? Just to get the throne position?"
I asked as I followed him.
"Many years ago, there was a civil unrest in the Northern Bloods and my father was killed, no one would help me at that time, but I met Borkana and he fought with me until I returned to the palace later and took back everything that belonged to me."
"I thought our friendship should last forever, but power made him gradually lost. He tried to provoke me countless times and I tolerated it, but I never thought that finally he would poison my food and then imprison me in the giant tree."
"My power and the giant tree are connected, and if I die, the giant tree will die too, so he needs me alive to cover up the lie."
Quintas walked ahead and led me through an outer passage into the underground of the palace.
What appeared in front of me was another underground palace, with lights illuminating the surrounding area, which was no less luxurious than the palace above ground.
"But he looks completely different from you, how could he have fooled the others?"
This puzzled me.
"That's because once when I was on the run, in order not to be recognized by my enemies, so I would wear a mask, and after a long time, it became a habit, so apart from him, almost no one has ever seen my original face, and even if they knew, they were killed."
Quintas said to me.
After passing a flight of steps, in a small space, I saw Klopp.
He was tied to a cross, with a shirt so torn that he couldn't see his original face, and the blood on it had dried, but his wounds hadn't healed.
"Klopp!"
I ran toward him and called out to him.
Klopp did not respond; he kept his head down and never moved a muscle.
As I touched the chains on Klopp's body, they suddenly began to tighten, and Klopp let out a groan as he came to his senses, stimulated by the sharp pain.
"Klopp! Quintas, get this damn chain off!"
I looked at Klopp's painful appearance and turned back to Quintas.
The chain only started to loosen when the red light from Quintas' palm touched it.
Klopp also fell to the ground, his face almost turning ashen.
"He'll be fine."
Quintas said to me.
Quintas then lifted Klopp up in a cloud of dark red mist and led us outside.
At the entrance of the palace, the guards stopped Quintas.
"Who are you people?"
The guard asked, looking at Quintas.
"Quintas."
He replied coldly.
"You better not be looking for trouble here, or we won't guarantee that you'll live to see the light of day."
The guard heard his words and showed his anger as well.
"Now that I think of it, I'm still short of the most important thing."
Quintas said, reaching out his hand in the direction of the palace gate.
Ten seconds later, a scepter flew into his hand.
The bat on it glowed red.
"How is this possible? How can there be two kings?"
The guards were dumbfounded.
They all knew that Quintas' scepter only reacted with energy in his hand, but this man in front of them, none of them had ever seen it before.
"Send out a notice immediately that Borkana's betrayal of the king's crown has been executed."
Quintas said, and led Klopp and me into the palace.
The guards did not stop him again.
In the room, Klopp lay on the bed, and Quintas signaled me to wait outside.
The doctor was in the room treating Klopp, and I had to wait outside for the final results.
I didn't know what Klopp had gone through, I only knew that at this point I was terrified that I would lose him.
"Aren't the Bloods able to recover their wounds on their own? Why is Klopp's wound in that condition?"
I asked, looking at Quintas beside me.
"Normally it's like that, but Borkana tied him to the cross and dripped holy water on him, which will cause his wounds and body skin to rot and eventually die a painful death, and it will take a few drops of your blood to save him."
Quintas said to me.
"Not to mention a few drops, even if it is a hemorrhage."
I said to Quintas, holding out my hand.
"You saved me, I saved Klopp once, we're even."
Quintas said.
He pierced my fingertips with a red filament of light and took a few drops of blood before entering the room.
Soon, he walked back out.
"He'll be fine."
Quintas said with a smile.
But I noticed the maid next to me was staring at him in disbelief, with pink hearts popping into Quintas face from both eyes.
I can understand, after all, Quintas is also very handsome, and is the blood king, anyone else will be attracted to him.
But Quintas didn't care about the maids beside him, standing quietly beside him looking at the door of the room in front of him.
"You go check on Klopp, I have some business to attend to, and don't leave this room until morning."
Quintas said to me after the doctor left, then turned and left.
I didn't press him for a reason and walked into the room.
The wounds on Klopp's body had all been bandaged, except that his face had not recovered much.
I sat on the edge of the bed and gently held his hand, then slowly moved my head closer to him and lay beside him.
He will wake up.
I comforted myself in my heart.
There was a loud noise from outside, but I didn't look out of curiosity, Quintas was being held captive by Borkana and he had a lot to deal with.
I closed my eyes and leaned against Klopp, listening to the constant blasts coming from outside.
"Jenny ......"
Klopp's weak voice called out to me.
I looked up and his pale face gave me a smile.
In that moment, tears flowed down my cheeks, I couldn't tell what kind of emotion it was, I couldn't say a word, I could only hold his hand tightly and sob.
"I'll be fine, don't cry."
Klopp gently reached out and rubbed my head to comfort me.
"That man is not the real Quintas, the real Quintas was imprisoned, and after I released him, he led me to you."
After a long time, I calmed myself and said to him.
"I realized he wasn't the real King Quintas when he caught me, but since I hadn't seen him either, I didn't have the chance to expose him."
Klopp didn't doubt what I said, he just froze for a moment.
"Quintas killed him."
I said to Klopp.
"Since it's the real Quintas, we'll find a chance to talk to him when I'm a little better."
Klopp said.
The voices outside faded away, and Klopp could probably guess what had happened and didn't press the issue.
After dawn, Quintas had the maid bring us breakfast.
My mind still goes to the scene where Borkana pierced the trunk of the tree with her sword, and if Quintas was there, how did he manage to dodge it?
