Chapter 65: The VIPs at the Manor
After Klopp fell asleep, I secretly took my pajamas and put them on and left the room.
Walking to the study door, I quietly pushed it open and walked in, making sure the hallway was clear.
The next second.
The lights in the study came on and I bumped into someone.
She and I screamed at the same time, our voices echoing throughout the building.
"Wait, Jenny?"
"An......Anna?"
We saw each other's faces and looked at each other with the same shocked expression.
"How did you get here?"
Anna and I asked at the same time once again in silence.
"Every time Mister finishes his work in the study, I come to tidy up, but this light suddenly broke, but I've fixed it."
Anna laughed smugly, shaking the screwdriver in her hand at me.
Although I have no idea what a screwdriver has to do with a light bulb.
"I couldn't sleep, so I came to the study to find some books to read, yes, that's it."
There was only one light on in the study, and the light was rather dim.
As I said that, I moved to the side of the desk and kicked the clothes on the floor under the desk.
"I really don't understand, you people like to read when you can't sleep, those words are like ants, one more glance and I'm all over the place, you can read it yourself, I'm going to my room."
Anna was like a ghost when she heard that she was reading a book, and hurriedly left the study.
Outside the door can no longer hear her footsteps, I just picked up the clothes under the desk.
I slipped back into the room as fast as I could.
Klopp was lying on his side on the bed, one hand propped up on his head, looking at me with a smile on his face.
"I guess that scream you made in the study was never because you saw a mouse or a cockroach."
Klopp and I said jokingly.
"That's right, I saw a ghost!"
I rolled my eyes at him, so the Count could be so beaten up.
If I could beat him up, I would have done that.
But ever since the fight with Mireya, that feeling of being full of energy never came back.
Even though I tried to experience it again, it didn't work.
I began to wonder if that energy was a one-time thing.
"Klopp, I promise, I won't do that with you in the den again!"
I said at him.
"Okay, so balcony, bathroom, living room, roof, basement or wine cellar or whatever, take your pick!"
"......"
Fucking pick anything!
"If you don't feel good about it, then use the blood mating method?"
"What?"
"Hanging upside down from a tree or some cave or something like that is not out of the question."
"If you do hang me upside down, I promise I'll smash your skull with my own hands!"
"Okay, no problem."
Klopp expressed his helplessness and showed his hands to me.
Can someone tell me where the noble and elegant gentleman count is?
In the morning, when I got up, Klopp was no longer in the room.
When I got dressed and came out of the room, a maid told me that Klopp had gone to the hall to meet a distinguished guest.
Curiosity drove me down the hall.
As I got closer I realized that there were guards standing at the entrance to the hall, who would not normally be here.
The door to the hall was closed, and I wondered what kind of person was there.
I sat on a chair next to the garden and waited for Klopp to come out.
It didn't take long for the doors to open.
Two people came out of the hall, one was Klopp, the other was a strange middle-aged man with a long beard.
I had never seen him before, nor had I heard Klopp mention this man.
As he got closer to me, I could smell the heavy scent of blood on him, and his eyes were full of coldness and violence.
Even when Klopp spoke to him, his face was nothing but serious.
Tall, sturdy body, eyes looking straight ahead, powerful aura.
"Jenny, this is Duke Gail, and one of the most powerful war lords of our race."
Klopp stopped as he walked up to me, led me over, and introduced me.
Gail just looked at me and gave me a nod of greeting.
The way he looked scared me a little, like a messenger from hell, and I didn't even dare to look at him more than once.
"Gail-Ranch."
He said, extending his hand to me.
"Jenny-Ivy."
I shook his hand carefully, then pulled it back.
"Your Highness, I should leave now, if there is anything unusual, you can use this to contact."
Gail said as she took out a thumb-sized chip and handed it to Klopp.
Klopp put it away and Gail took a big step towards the entrance of the manor.
"He was sent by your father? Is something wrong with the palace?"
I started to get nervous.
"Something to do with the Bloodbats, they used the same trick on the other races, Sarnus has summoned the four dukes back, and sooner or later there will be a nasty battle with the Bloodbats."
Klopp said a little worried.
"I've never heard you talk about these four others."
I looked at Klopp and said, slightly dissatisfied.
"The four dukes are already on their way back to the palace, and Gail is the closest, so he's the first to arrive, so maybe they'll have a good way to deal with the Bloodbats. The four war lords are second only to my father in strength and individually exceed me, and they are good at fighting and can find each other's weaknesses while fighting."
Klopp explained, but I knew that he treated Gail a little differently.
"So you're familiar with him? It feels like you're like teacher and student."
I said with a smile.
"You guessed it, Gail is indeed my teacher, he is the one who taught me to fight, out of the four dukes, he is the most respected."
Klopp said to me.
I nodded, although the two of them had completely different auras, and I only happened to guess correctly because of Klopp's demeanor when talking to him, but if the two of them didn't talk, no one would ever connect them together.
"I guess the other three dukes, must have taught you piano, violin and foreign language respectively."
I laughed, joking with Klopp.
"Well, as much as I hate to admit it, you guessed right, and that's in fact what happened."
Klopp said he was helpless about it too.
"It seems being a prince isn't easy, ordinary commoners like us don't have that much to learn, we just need to eat and sleep every day, plus work."
Compared to his life, at least I used to spend a free time.
"Has Duke Gail already thought of a way to deal with the Bloodbats?"
I asked, looking at Klopp.
"Not yet, because before this, we had almost no contact with the Bloodbats. Only my father had a big battle with the King of Bloodbats about three hundred years ago, and according to what he said, none of them were injured at that time."
Klopp said to me.
"What the Bloodbats are doing now basically rules out that they are targeting your father. Perhaps their target, as you suspect, is all of the Bloodbats except themselves."
I made my worst guess.
