Chapter 55 - Plan B
"She's here, go explain to her yourself."
Megan finished and hurriedly walked to the side.
I could feel Pierre's fear.
I glanced at the living room door and a corpulent woman walked in, wearing exaggerated lipstick that made her mouth look more like two hot dogs.
"Pierre, why did you bring another woman to the party?"
Kelly walked up to Pierre and questioned him.
When he passed me, he deliberately bumped me with his body, almost making me fall.
"Kelly, I think it's over between us. I don't want to go on with it. My father agreed to my engagement with you, but he didn't ask my opinion, can you understand what I mean?"
Pierre plucked up the courage to say to Kelly.
"No, Pierre, it's not true, we're getting married soon, how can you say such things to me?"
Kelly looked at Pierre with hurt.
But he kept avoiding Kelly's gaze and wouldn't even look at her.
"Kelly, I'm sorry, I ...... know how much this hurts you, but we can't let the mistake continue."
Pierre said, with a hint of guilt in his tone.
"Pierre, you can't do this to me ......"
Kelly cried helplessly, while people around her laughed.
And I stood by looking very awkward.
"Kelly is Pierre's fiancée. Her father was killed in battle to save Pierre's father, so Pierre's father promised to get them married."
Megan came up to my ear and whispered.
Kelly is supposed to be very fond of Pierre, but at this point she's pathetic.
"Kelly, I'm simply here for the party, I hope you don't get the wrong idea. If he refuses to marry you just because of your appearance, then he's blind, but if he just wants to find someone he likes in each other, then he's right too."
I walked up to her and said to Kelly.
"Fatty, you'd better get your ass back in gear! You're not going to be able to get married to Pierre in this condition, at all, you need to recognize reality."
"If I were you, I sure wouldn't have the face to come to the party."
"It's possible she collapsed her bed at home, so she came here to beg to be taken in."
Several girls who heard the noise from outside also gathered around, verbally attacking Kelly and laughing.
And Pierre is indifferent to all this.
"Even a good-looking skin can't hide an ugly heart."
I said indifferently.
"Someone actually spoke up for this fat bitch? Don't you know how many times she's embarrassed Pierre? Who would want her?"
"She's not even good enough for Pierre, she's a combination of a toad and a fat pig, fat and ugly."
The girls still scolded Kelly, but Pierre chose to remain silent.
Kelly suppressed her emotions, holding back her tears as she looked at Pierre, and when she saw him avoiding her gaze, Kelly finally turned around and walked out the door.
"Pierre, I'm sorry, I guess I shouldn't have come to this party."
I'm disappointed in what Pierre did. Even if Kelly is just a normal girl, these people shouldn't be able to watch her being verbally abused and still be able to laugh.
Trampled Kelly's dignity to the point of no crumbs left.
"Jenny, I really won't have a relationship with her anymore, I ......"
Pierre came after me and tried to explain to me.
Pierre was still whispering in my ear as I walked up to the front door.
"Pierre, you shouldn't have let those people humiliate Kelly, even though you don't like her. You don't want to marry her, so you could have explained to her instead of making a public spectacle of her. She's just not as pretty as you think she is, but that doesn't mean she's a bad girl."
I said with a sigh.
Pierre was silent once again, and I shook my head and turned to walk out the door.
Kelly did not leave, but sat alone on the corner of the street crying.
I was going to leave, but finally walked over and handed her a tissue.
"Thanks."
Kelly took a tissue and wiped her tears, and when she looked up and saw me in front of her, she looked shocked again.
"You're welcome, I have tissues if you still want to cry."
I said to her somewhat helplessly.
"Why don't you laugh at me as much as they do? Or even scold me?"
Kelly asked me with a choked voice.
"Because it's not funny, you should have known already that Pierre doesn't want to marry you, and you're not only forcing him, but you're forcing yourself."
The way things are going, I still have to follow my own plan, and Pierre is not always dependable.
Once it comes to more confidential matters, he certainly will not tell me.
Klopp doesn't know what's going on now. The battle between the Bloods and Humans in Castle City should have started.
I couldn't go to Castle City to find him, but I still wanted to do something for him.
"What's your name?"
I was about to leave when Kelly stood up and asked.
"Jenny-Ivy."
I stopped to answer.
"Thank you for speaking up for me today, I'll remember you."
Kelly said to me.
"If we get a chance to see each other again, maybe we can have lunch together or something."
I said with a smile, then got in my car and left there.
So, now it's down to Plan B.
In this city, the opportunity to get in touch with the higher echelons of humanity is the auction that is held once a month.
The upper class is very keen on bidding on items.
The auction also has rules, and a deposit of at least 500,000 gold coins must be paid to gain access.
And I first need the list of people who will attend the auction.
When I got back to the estate, I called Ike.
"What? Steal the list?"
Ike stared at me with wide eyes.
"Not stealing, but recording the information on the personnel list and bringing it back."
I explained to Ike.
"But how do I know where the list is?"
Ike looked at me with difficulty.
What an unfortunate coincidence.
"I know where it is."
The girl standing at the door is one of the ones I bought back yesterday.
Hearing her words, Ike and I looked over at the same time.
"You know?"
Ike and I asked at the same time.
"My brother used to work there, and I went in there a couple of times when I went to see him, and he told me that the personnel lists were in the archives. Then ...... he was killed by a slave trader ......"
The girl said, lowering her head and wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Thank you for telling us this, and maybe one day there will be no more slave traders in this world."
I comforted her.
The girl looked at me with emotions in her eyes that I couldn't see through.
Although I don't really believe what I say even to myself.
Vampires have occupied this world for more than a decade, and human armies have waged wars together more than once, but they have all ended in human defeat.
It is also because of this that vampires are on top of the world and can enslave humans at will.
The number of humans, too, has dwindled during this period, and fewer and fewer humans remain, able to participate in a war with vampires.
How it will end up is anyone's guess.
Will vampires and humans coexist, or will humans become completely extinct?
