Chapter 43: Rolling in the Mud Pit
The merchandise of the human world in the mall attracted Anna's attention, and she didn't dwell too much on the smell of blood on me, pulling me around to look.
It was dark outside when we left the mall.
Before going to Mrs. Olaton's house, I asked Anna to take the purchases back to the estate.
She didn't seem surprised by my arrival.
A glass of warm milk was also placed on the table in advance.
"You're still here."
She put down the newspaper in her hand and looked at me.
"Mrs. Olaton, I came to see you at ......"
"I'm sorry Jenny, I know where you're coming from, but I can't help you, I can only tell you that if you want to live, then the only person who can help you, is in the West, but you still have a great chance of dying."
Mrs. Olaton interrupted me and said.
"Then can you tell me when I will die?"
I asked her about it.
"At most ...... six months, because, that's the limit of humanity, Jenny, you shouldn't do that."
Olaton replied reluctantly.
"Mrs. Olaton, thank you. I came here, in addition to asking your questions, to bring you a gift as a thank you for having helped us."
I took out a box and put it in front of her.
It was an emerald gemstone necklace that I bought while I was at the mall.
"It seems that I have to return a gift to you as well."
From the drawer behind her, Mrs. Olaton took a green leaf, dipped it in a little water, and dabbed it a few times on the palm of my left hand.
"Thanks."
Although I don't know what kind of gift it is, I believe that she would never do something useless.
"One day you'll use it. It's dark, so if you're going back, don't take the main road. The paths are shortcuts, a little rougher but perhaps safer."
Mrs. Olaton said with a smile, standing up and heading to her room.
I gently closed the door behind me as I left.
The way back to the estate, there is indeed a path, but there it goes through a wooded area, and I don't even have a light.
When I came to the fork in the road, I hesitated for a moment and chose the trail.
As I entered the woods, moonlight spilled overhead and through the foliage, allowing me to barely see the path beneath my feet.
There was silence all around, only the wind blowing through the leaves, making a rustling sound.
It sounded a little scary in the dark, and I picked up the pace towards the manor, which I hoped to reach sooner.
A huge black shadow swept over my head, I was startled and stood still, not daring to go forward.
The bracelet on my hand began to emit a blue glow that grew brighter and brighter, like a light in my hand, allowing me to see clearly the path ahead.
I glanced back and saw nothing.
Fear drove me to run forward by the bright light of my bracelet. The dark figure had huge wings and must be a vampire.
But that Earl's medal, I put it in the bag Anna took with her.
This also means that I will be a target for other vampires.
There was a gust of wind blowing behind me, and I knew it was the vampire chasing me.
"Klopp! Help me ......"
I ran forward desperately and kept praying in my heart.
Suddenly, I didn't know what I stepped on, and the whole person fell forward.
The good thing is that there is a mud pit in front of me, and I am not injured except for a sludge.
But the moonlight stretched the vampire's shadow just enough that I could see the huge bat wings even with him on my back.
And, he was moving closer to me step by step.
"Klopp...... save lives ......"
I lay on the ground, afraid to look back, covering my eyes and choking my voice as I called out to Klopp, even though he wouldn't hear me.
"The Countess shouldn't have cried so much."
Klopp's voice came from behind him.
I jerked my head back and Klopp stretched his wings and smiled as he approached me.
"You have ...... trees next to you ......"
I was lying in the mud puddle, and before I could finish my sentence, I watched Klopp's unfurled wings being blocked by two trees.
Klopp stood between the two trees, looking at me with a dark face.
The air is starting to freeze.
"I know you want to laugh, no need to force it, I'll allow it, although it's also my first time and possibly the first vampire count to get his wings stuck in a tree separated by more than two meters."
Klopp doesn't care anymore.
"Hahahaha ......"
I couldn't help but fall to the ground and laugh maniacally.
"But joking about the Count, also needs to be punished."
Klopp tucked his wings away, smiled badly and came over, picking me up.
As he spread his wings again, he carried me through the canopy and up into the sky.
"We are the real pilots compared to the human aircraft, this passenger, are you ready?"
Klopp stopped in mid-air and said to me.
"I'm quasi ...... ah!"
Before I could finish my sentence, Klopp had already accelerated forward and made various flying movements in the air, making me dizzy and my stomach churning.
Until he put me back on the ground, I could no longer see everything around me and swayed twice before falling back.
Klopp even held me, but I was really dizzy.
"Countess, was the flight satisfactory?"
Klopp asked me rather smugly.
"I swear I don't want to fly anymore."
I lay in Klopp's arms as he carried me toward my room.
He must be teasing me on purpose because I just laughed at him.
This vindictive Count!
Back in the room, Klopp put me on the couch and then asked Anna to help me with the shower.
"Oh, my God, Jenny, did you go rolling in a mud puddle?"
Anna closed the bathroom door and asked with a shocked look on her face.
"Pretty much, and was forced to take a flight that was a very poor experience."
I replied with a roll of my eyes.
"Flying? You mean you and Mr. Earl flew back?"
Anna asked curiously.
"Yes, and it almost made me spin and throw up."
I lay down in the bathtub, which was already sprinkled with flower petals, while complaining.
"Jenny, vampires all fly, and so do I. I can take you on a real flight experience."
Anna said, with a big smile on her face and eyes full of anticipation.
"We'll talk about it when we get a chance."
I'm already psychologically challenged by flying.
After Anna left the bathroom, Klopp changed into clean clothes and sat on the couch to read a book.
The look on his face told me he was in a good mood.
"Countess, I apologize for your very bad flight experience and am willing to make amends for it."
Klopp said, setting the book aside and standing up and walking towards me.
His shirt was unbuttoned by two buttons, and his firm pectoral muscles could be vaguely seen.
"No, I don't think I need to make amends."
I subconsciously backed up.
"No, I think you want to."
Klopp carried me into the room inside.
Oh my God, I'm screwed again!
Klopp gently laid me down on the bed and leaned over and pressed down.
His gentle and deep kiss also fell on my lips at that moment.
The damn forbidden fruit turned into an addictive poppy because of Klopp's kiss.
