Chapter 35 Mr. Duke
"Duke Amos."
Phil let go and bowed respectfully, while I fell to the ground with a pang of dizziness.
"Phil, if I remember correctly, she's supposed to be Klopp's pet, right?"
In front of me, a young male vampire slowly landed in mid-air.
Short light brown hair, tall body, very magnetic voice, wearing a black shirt.
Slightly raised his head, posing a downward gesture, that seems to penetrate from the soul of the noble and majestic, his eyes as if there is no room for anyone.
Even if his back is only to me, I think he must be good looking.
"Yes, honorable Mr. Duke, she is Klopp's pet, but Klopp is now a low level vampire, and according to the rules, he is not supposed to have a pet, that's why I want to take her."
Phil's look of pleasing the Duke simply made me sick to my stomach.
"It's true that low-level vampires shouldn't have pets, but Klopp is just as entitled even if he's relegated to a low-level vampire, because, well, I allow it."
Amos said calmly.
Phil looked up at him, unable to believe what he was saying.
"Mr. Duke, may I ask why?"
Phil refused to die and pressed on.
"Because, I'm a duke, and I know that you were recommended to my father by that old man Taz, but I don't think you'd make as good a count as Klopp."
Amos seems to dislike Phil.
"Mr. Duke..."
"Enough, this human pet is taken by me, in the future, if you hit Klopp and his pet again, I will not let you go."
Amos said, glancing at me and gesturing for me to leave with him.
Phil glared at me with eyes full of anger, but he didn't dare offend Amos.
I followed Amos away, and Phil really did not dare to come after me.
But at the same time, I wondered why Amos, being a duke, he was here.
What about the relationship between him and Klopp?
It didn't take long for Amos to walk up to a sedan with a man in a black suit standing by the door, pulling it open for him.
Amos got in the car and gestured for me to get in as well.
I glanced in the direction of the villa, if I stayed here, once Amos left, Phil would surely come after me.
Eventually, I got in Amos' car.
The car left the woods and headed for the other side of town.
Even though I could not feel Amos' hostility towards me, I was still afraid to initiate a conversation with him.
"Are you trying to ask why I am here? And why did I save you?"
Amos, like Klopp, can see right through me.
"Yes, Mr. Duke."
I replied sincerely.
"I received a secret message from Klopp just before dark, and he asked me to help and rescue you from Mireya. I originally intended to ask Mireya to hand you over to me directly, but I didn't expect that you had already run out."
Amos said with a smile.
"Did the gentleman send you?"
I looked at him suspiciously, he is a duke, his status is noble, actually for Klopp, personally out to save a human pet?
"About fifty years ago, I was attacked on a trip and almost died. Klopp showed up just in time to save me, and in return, I recommended him to my father to be made a count."
Amos said gently.
"And what happened between Duke Tazand the gentleman, do you also know about it?"
I inquired, if he knew and remembered Klopp's kindness to him, why did he not step in to stop it at that time?
"During that time, my father sent me on a mission to another place, and was not here. After I returned, I learned that the old man had my father cut Klopp's knighthood because his daughter did not marry. During this time, that old man is not very good."
Amos said, hooking the corners of his mouth into a smile.
I could probably guess what he meant. He must have held a grudge against Taz because Klopp was stripped of his knighthood.
This duke seems to hold a grudge.
"Ever since Klopp saved me, I've always wanted to repay him, but he never took the initiative to ask me for anything, not even to tell me that he had been cut from his title. Instead, it was only this time when Mireya captured you that he asked me for help for the first time."
Amos shook his head and chuckled.
I lowered my head, not knowing how to answer his question.
About an hour later, the limo stopped.
What appeared before my eyes was a palace, more luxurious than Klopp's estate.
There were dozens of maids standing side by side on either side of the doorway. Amos had just gotten out of the car and the maids were bending and bowing to him.
"It's rare that Klopp asks me for help for the first time, and even if you're human, you can still get VIP treatment here."
Amos said to me.
The butler at the door approached, Amos gave him a few words of explanation, and the middle-aged male butler led me into the palace gates.
"Miss Jenny, I am Mud, Duke Amos' butler. Please bathe first, and we will prepare dinner for you."
Mud said politely to me and led me to a luxurious bathroom.
After I walked into the bathroom, a group of maids came in through the door, holding plates filled with rose petals. There was still a little water droplet on the petals, which looked freshly picked.
"Miss Jenny, we are here to serve you in the bath."
The maid at the front of the line said to me with a smile on her face.
"Thanks, but I'm still used to doing it myself."
I can't have so many people watching me shower.
"Well, we're right outside the door, so if you need anything, you can press the button next to the tub and talk to us."
The maid said again.
"Okay, I got it."
I replied with a smile, and the maid then put the rose petals into the tub and then walked out.
Lying into the warm water, the whole person relaxed.
When I got out of the bathroom, it was half an hour later and the maid was already in the room ready with clean clothes.
The previous clothes have been taken away.
The dress that came was brand new, rose-like red, just long enough to reach my calves, and next to a pair of red high heels.
I changed my clothes and walked out of the room, and the maid led me to the dining room.
It took nearly five minutes just to walk from the room to the restaurant.
In such a palace, it is a great thing to be able to do without getting lost.
Amos was also in the dining room, and the table had been set with all kinds of food, all made to human consumption standards.
"Klopp's side, I've already sent someone to him, with my presence, even that old guy Taz wouldn't dare to do anything to him."
Amos said to me.
"Thank you, Mr. Duke."
I said to Amos that I was grateful that he had saved me and helped Klopp.
"You dine first, and later, Klopp should arrive as well."
Amos said with a smile and an emotion in his eyes that I couldn't read.
There seems to be more than just favors between him and Klopp?
