Chapter 29 Waiting for death to come
"Jenny, did she give you this?"
Anna instinctively had to take two steps back and looked at me and asked.
She and Ike didn't seem to want to touch the red leaves in my hand at all.
"Do you guys know how it's supposed to work?"
I took the leaves and asked them about it.
"The leaves of the blood tree will attract many vampires, and even powerful vampires will be drawn here, we are only low level vampires, we are no match for them, and you are human, the target will become more obvious."
Ike said with concern.
"But it's the most effective way to go at the moment, isn't it?"
I picked up the leaf.
"You put the leaf on his heart, then use your blood to stimulate its energy, although the energy inside the leaf is not much, but it is enough for the gentleman to recover."
Ike frowned.
I turned to look at Klopp, who had fallen into a deep sleep, took a deep breath, and placed the red leaf over his heart.
There was a pocket knife on a drawer in the room, and I reached for it.
Close your eyes, the blade cuts the palm of your hand, a sharp pain comes, accompanied by blood dripping down on that leaf.
The moment the blood dripped on the leaves, a scarlet glow filled the room and the smell of blood grew heavier.
Red lines of light extend out from Klopp's chest and merge into his body.
"So heavy... blood smell... I'm so uncomfortable..."
Anna covered her chest in pain and knelt on the ground, and a pair of bat wings appeared behind her.
Ike also could not control his desire to suck blood, and wings and fangs gradually appeared in front of me.
Their eyes turned red and with the last of their sanity, they controlled their bodies, but instinct drove them closer to me.
"Anna! Ike! You guys come to your senses!"
I retreated to Klopp's side and called out to them.
But they are still approaching me at this point like puppets on strings controlled by their desire to suck blood.
There was a cawing of crows outside the window as they flapped their wings and flew off into the distance.
And I also felt something approaching the house quickly.
Outside was bright moonlight, obscured by a huge cloud of shadows, and through the window, I could even already see countless pairs of glowing red eyes outside.
I don't know how many vampires were attracted to it.
"Please... come to your senses..."
I leaned my back against the wall and slowly slid to the floor, shedding two lines of tears in despair.
Klopp hadn't woken up yet, and if I left the room, the vampires outside would just as likely overturn the roof and break in, and they'd probably kill Klopp.
There was a crashing sound overhead as the vampire's sharp claws tore a gaping hole in the roof and moonlight shone through the gaping hole into the room.
The red glow from the room also drifted outside along the gap, accompanied by the heavy smell of blood.
Those red lights made the vampires outside even more frantic, and more and more of them started tearing up the roof.
As the gap grew, I saw the vampires gathered around the house, dozens of them on the roof alone.
I am well aware that there are hundreds of vampires around the house, I'm afraid.
Anna and Ike reached out to grab me, and I scrambled to cower up against the wall.
The roof tiles fell, hitting Anna and Ike's heads one after another, and the two then fell to the ground.
But their sharp claws still left several wounds on my body, and blood flowed from the wounds.
I could no longer feel the pain, only the fear.
I desperately hoped that Klopp would wake up soon, but he showed no signs of waking up at all.
Various pieces of debris kept falling overhead, and some dust fell off Klopp's body.
I glanced overhead and gritted my teeth as I dragged Klopp down from the bed, it was good to stall for a little while.
Barely dragging Klopp to the corner had sapped almost all of my strength.
The wounds on his body were healing at a rate visible to the naked eye, and I saw hope.
"Hey, you greedy vampires, come here!"
I raised my head and shouted at the vampire on the roof, then ran towards the door.
By luring the vampires off the roof, they can buy Klopp a little more time.
As I ran out the door, what was in front of me froze me in place.
Countless low-level vampires were surrounding the outside of the house, hundreds of them just from what I saw.
There was a loud noise from behind me, and the vampire on the roof was looking for me.
I opened the door and sprinted out, heading for the woods on the other side.
The trees in the woods should slow them down.
"Kill this human!"
The vampire standing on the roof said icily.
Countless vampires flapped their wings and flew up, swooping towards me.
I could only run desperately into the woods.
There was a sharp pain in my back, a vampire's claw pierced my body from behind, and with a huge impact, my whole body flew out.
Then, smashed heavily into the ground.
The bones in my body felt like they were broken alive, and the pain was so intense that I couldn't even get up.
The woods were right in front of me, less than three meters away.
I knew I must have suffered a pretty serious injury to my back, so that I could feel the intense pain even with every breath I took.
A large group of vampires lunged at me, and I didn't want to be bitten by them without even a crumb.
I don't know where the strength came from, but I got up from the ground and ran towards the woods.
After entering the woods, the pursuing vampires hit the tree trunks one after another and fell to the ground.
The dense woods became my hope for survival instead.
But there were still responsive vampires who avoided the trunk, gathered their wings, and came running after them on both feet.
"Kill her!"
The vampire on the other side, hissed in anger.
More and more vampires entered the woods and surrounded me from all directions.
I didn't get very far before I was surrounded by a group of vampires and had no way back.
I also no longer have the strength to escape, the blood flowing down my back soaked my clothes and stuck to my back.
My vision started to blur a little bit, and I watched the vampire move closer towards me as I fell to the ground.
In the direction of the house, the scarlet glow dimmed a little.
The vampire, standing on the roof, entered Klopp's room.
In the next second, there was a loud explosion in the house.
Beside me, the vampires opened their mouths, longing to snap my neck and suck the last drops of blood out of me.
The house is also devoid of any sound.
My mind thought of the worst possible outcome.
Even though I had fought so hard, I still failed in the end, just like when I could only watch Wills kill my family and I couldn't do anything about it.
I slowly closed my eyes, rolling tears slipped down from the corners of my eyes.
At this moment, I could only wait quietly for death to come.
But I'm still grateful that Klopp ever rescued me and took care of me and protected me.
