Chapter 9

Jones walked to me,
"I love you," he said again.

"You love me?"

"More than I can ever imagine,"

I became happy but I wasn't sure,
"How do I know you love me?"

"If I don't love you why the hell would I be apologizing to you that another girl kissed me? if I don't love you why would I ask us to hang out? if I don't love you I should probably be in class now but I'm here apologizing to you," he said.

I remained quiet and glanced at him continuously, he held my hands slowly and looked me right in the eyes,

"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen," he said.

We slowly brought our faces together but just as we were about to kiss, we got interrupted,

"Hey love birds, let me mop the ground before you two start mopping each other's lips,"

We turned and saw the school Janitor. I and Jones looked at each other and chuckled, then we both headed to class.

When I and Jones got back to class, our English teacher was already in class. She looked at us and sighed,

"Why are you two late?"

"We are... we aren't late, we were in school even before the first period," I said to the English teacher,

"And why are you just coming, didn't you hear the bell?"

"We did ma'am but we were....,"

"At the library," Jones interrupted to save us.

"At the library?" our English teacher asked,

"Yes ma'am, principal George asked her to show me around the school since I'm new here,"

"Hmmm, no wonder I couldn't recognize your face when I saw you," she said, "Come in," we both walked into the class and headed to our seats, "Welcome to our school," she said to Jones.

"Thanks, ma'am,"

When I sat down, Victoria gave me a hard look. I looked at her and looked away but she kept looking at me. I wasn't looking at her but I could tell she was looking at me. She looked at me for quite a long period until I got frustrated because I wasn't comfortable with her looking at me. I looked at her and gave her a hard look and she raised her camera and wiggled it.

"Victoria can I have that camera," said our English teacher.

Victoria looked at our English teacher,
"What? no ma'am I can't, if I give you the camera I won't have anything to take pictures for the school's yearbook,"

"Well, the school calendar is still fresh so you won't be needing the camera until after Easter,"

"After easter? that's in eight months,"

"Victoria please hand over the camera and stop wasting our time," said the English teacher.

Victoria stood up and walked to the English teacher, she handed it to her and walked back to her seat. I felt so happy that Victoria's camera got ceased by our English teacher, now she has nothing to use and scare me.

The bell rang for lunch and everyone was heading to the school's cafeteria for lunch. I was with Lola, Benita, and Anita. They were asking how my date with Jones went. I told them how it was but I didn't tell them we kissed because they would cheer me which I don't want. While we were talking and heading to the cafeteria, Jones walked to us and stood in front of me. He said hi to my friends and smiled at me,

"Uh... we have to go to the bathroom," Lola said and smiled at me,

"Yeah, we'll leave you two now," Anita said as they all left me and Jones.

I and Jones looked at each other and chuckled,
"So, you want to sit with me in the cafeteria, or do you want to stay with your friends," he asked,

"I uh... would love to stay with you but I don't like to draw attention to myself,"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you're like the most popular and cutest guy in school so anyone you walk with alone draws attention,"

"Well, I didn't realize that,"

Immediately he said this three girls walked to Jones,
"Hi, I'm Marlie and I'm having a party on Friday night, you're invited," she said, gave him her house address, and chuckled as she and her friends left us.

"You see, you're a popular guy and I'm just a regular girl, it's like I'm invisible because no one notices me, but I like it that way,"

"Babe you're not Invisible, I'm the popular guy like you said and I noticed you, why didn't I fall for Victoria, why is it you I'm tripping for?"

Before I answered his question I screamed in excitement inside because he called me babe.
"I'm glad you noticed me,"

"And I'm glad you like me, right?"

"Yeah... yeah me too,"

"No.... that's a question Angie, I already told you how I feel about you but I haven't heard your reply,"

"You're my first kiss Jones, I guess that's more than enough to answer your question,"

"My first kiss wasn't with the one I love, I like to hear the word from you to be sure we're on the same page,"

"I like you," I said,

Jones smiled,
"That's better," he said as we both laughed, "Now let's go have lunch, don't worry about drawing attention because I'll stay with you and your friends, is it better that way?"

"Sure," I said, then we both headed to the cafeteria.

When we walked in all eyes were on us, I felt so weird that I wished the ground could just swallow me up. We got our food and sat with Lola and the rest of my girls.

"Well what a surprise, Angie is here with her boo," Benita said and smiled,

I sighed and chuckled but I couldn't say anything to her because if I had said what was on my mind Jones might think I don't like him. Lunch went well and after lunch, the bell rang for the next period.

Closing time.

When it was closing time, everyone headed home. I headed to my locker and dropped all my books in there because I didn't feel like taking books home. I closed my locker and headed home. When I got out of school, I heard girls screaming. I stopped one of the girls screaming and asked why there were screaming and she said It was Jones,

"What's up with Jones, is he okay?" I asked

"Oh my gosh he's so cute and he has a tesla," she said,

"You saw him walk into a Tesla?"

"Yeah, that's why we're screaming, he's so hot and he has a tesla, most of all he's dating the most popular girl in school,"

"The most popular girl? wait do you mean Victoria?"

"Oh my gosh yes, don't you go to school here, you should know that," she said and went back to scream with the other weird girls.

I was worried about what she said, how could he be dating Victoria? I walked to another girl and asked what was wrong and she said it was Jones, she said he got into a Tesla with Victoria and drove off.

I became so jealous and heartbroken, I couldn't believe what she said so I asked another girl and she said the same thing. My eyes were full but I never wanted to cry in the public so I took a taxi and went home so no one would see me cry except maybe the taxi driver.
