Chapter 67: Boss Lady

Well, things went back to normal. I went to school peacefully with no one watching my movement, I had my girls behind me, Anita and Benita and of course my boyfriend Jones. Betty was still unconscious and it was still the only thing that was making me feel sad.

Sports...

We all sat on the football field looking at our school coach, Coach Sadio.

"You all might be in 12th grade, but that doesn't mean you ain't got time for sports. Before I go any further I would like to draw attention to Henry, the team captain who brought us the cup in last year's Civil city cup competition," he said then we all cheered him. "And of course Victoria the captain of the chairleadies," he said then we all applauded. "Well this year, the Civil City competition is around the corner, and it's not a crime if we win the competition two times in a row. Starting from today we are going to be training after school," he said.

The Civil City competition is a competition hosted by the owner of the school. It's played once a year by our school and other schools under the owner. For the first time in six years, our school won the competition, Henry scored a late-minute goal and brought the trophy home. It was after school already and I wasn't that interested in football so I went home. My life was going great again, my relationship with Mom was good again and we were living happily.

The following week was a busy one at school, we did lots of science projects and all that, the semester was over and well, I did better than last year.

The school vacated for the Easter holiday. Surprisingly Jones was kinda cool for the rest of the semester, at least he didn't make me cry.

THE FINAL SEMESTER OF THE YEAR.

When I woke up, I felt the exact way I felt in the first semester, I just have about three months left before I graduate high school. I made up my mind that nothing was ever going to stop me or distract me this year. I walked to the bathroom and took a shower, then I got dressed for school and headed out.
While I was heading to school, I passed Betty's house and I remembered she is still in the hospital, it broke my heart when I remembered though. When I got to school I headed straight to my locker, picked up some books and headed to class.
The class was noisy as usual but I ignored the noise and went straight to my seat.

A few seconds later, the bell rang for the first period and our math teacher walked into the class, Mr Dickson,

"Well class as you all know, this is the last semester of the year and not just the last semester of the year but your last year in high school and you know what that means, you must be careful, if you fail any exam, especially math, I'm sorry but you aren't going to graduate," he said.
When he said this I became a bit pressurized. After his class, we had English and then it was time for lunch.
During lunch. Victoria, Trina and Ella came to sit with me because I was alone,
"Angie I don't know if youre still mad at me but we are throwing a pool party at my place this friday," Victoria said,

When she said this I sighed,
"I'm not coming, all these parties don't end up well for me," I said,

"Come on Angie, how many times have a party not turned out well for you?" Trina asked,

"Well for a start Betty is in the hospital, and it's my fault because when she called my phone I was busy dancing at Victoria's party,"

"Yeah speaking of Betty, is she still alive? She's been in the hospital for about 3 months now," Ella asked,

"She's alive, she's just in a coma, I hope she makes it out," Trina said,

"She would make it out, okay? Now would you girls just please let me eat my food," I said politely,

"Come on Angie, you are the boss, the party is pointless without you and if you don't come over, it would break our hearts," Victoria said,

I looked at Victoria,
"You know, I'm still mad at you for kissing Jones," I said,

"Seriously, but you've forgiven Jones who forced the kiss on me," Victoria said,

"Whatever, I just don't want to come to the party," I said,

Victoria sighed,
"Okay," she said looking sad, likewise the other girls, I looked at them and sighed,
"Guys," I said and they looked at me, "I would come on one condition," I said,

"What is it? anything," They all said,

"I would come if you all agree that they won't be any sick games and all that, well there could be games but I'm not going to play," I said

"Weird but okay," Victoria said,

"Yeah, and one more thing," I said,

"Don't invite Jones," I said,

"What, are you kidding?" they all said,

"Not inviting Jones is like going to space without a spaceship," Victoria said,

"Or going to the beach without a bikini," said Trina,

"I don't get it," I said,

"There is no way we won't invite Jones silly, oh and by the way I heard he's the new team captain," Victoria said,

"I don't care about the football team, I don't even watch football, my only concern is I don't want Jones to come to the party," I said,

"But why?" Victoria asked,

"Because he keeps breaking my heart if we go to parties, sometimes I feel I'm stupid for being so loyal to him," I said,

"Come on Angie, it's a pool party, so we won't play games, I just remembered," Victoria said,

"I don't care, I just don't want him to come," I said, while we were talking, Jones came to us and sat next to me,

"Guess who is the new team captain," he said and kissed my cheek, "So what are we talking about?" Jones asked,

"Nothing, it's just ...,"

"Well, we are having a pool party in my place this Friday but Angie doesn't want you to come, she thinks you would cheat on her again," Victoria said, Jones looked at me, "Okay first I'm not going to be home on Friday night," he said then I became so happy.

"Why?" Victoria asked but before he spoke, the bell went for the next period.
