Chapter 81: A new life

I went upstairs to my room and shut the door. My heart was pounding, my hands were shaking and I was feeling so devastated. There were lots of things going through my head and I just couldn't think or sit or relax, blood rolled out my nose but I didn't know it was blood until I wiped it off with my hand.

I scratched my hair roughly and yelled,
"Fuck you Jones...fuck you," I said and landed on my knee because I felt like my life was officially over. After some moments, I became a little relaxed as I begin to think of what to do, I couldn't afford to stay in this house with my parents still in it so I had an idea. I walked to my reading table and picked a piece of paper with a pen, I dropped it on the table and walked to the door then I locked it and walked back to my table. I sat down and sighed, then I began to write,

"Mom, Dad, I screwed up badly. I swear It wasn't intentional that I don't graduate high school. All my life I've loved and enjoyed school but when Jones came, it changed everything. I couldn't read or focus in school and all I could think about was Jones. Goodbye Mom, I guess I should leave because I can't afford to stay here with you and Dad,"

After writing this letter, I left it on the table and searched my whole room for any money I could find, well I could find almost 300 dollars when I searched my whole room, I packed my clothes in a small bag then I walked out of my room and headed out, I left home by 12:59 AM, I had no idea where I was heading to but I just wanted to leave home.

When it was daybreak, I opened my eyes and found myself sleeping on the side of the road, then I remembered I got tired by 3 AM and decided to relax for a while. As soon as I stood up, a taxi was headed in my direction so I stopped it and got in,

"Where to?''

I softly sighed,
"Just drive me extremely far from this neighbourhood,"

"Alright ma'am," he said and drove off, after almost a two hours drive, he asked me if there was far enough and I told him it was. I paid him and got down from the taxi, I looked around me without having any idea where to go or where to stay, I had just a little money and no shelter. Across the road, there was a small restaurant, because I was starving I walked in and it only had a few customers. I walked to the waiter,

"Good morning ma'am, what would you like to eat?" she asked,

"It's my first time here so I don't know what's on the menu,"

"Okay, we have....,"

"You know what, just get me a soda," I interrupted and walked to the seat next to the window. Some seconds later, the waiter brought my soda, she dropped it on the table and asked if I wanted something else but I told her I was fine.

I opened the soda and sipped a little. I had no place to stay or how to even make money to be able to provide for my needs, going home was never an option. While I was thinking, my phone rang and it was a call from Mom, I ended the call and switched off my phone. After drinking the soda, the waiter walked to me and asked if I wanted anything else and I told her I was fine but I could use her help. She sat down and looked at me curiously,
"What's that, what do you need help with?"

"I know it might sound weird but I don't have a home anymore, I don't have a place to stay and I'm stranded," I said and sighed, "Would you mind if I... I don't know, sleep here for the main time?"

"Well uh ... Sure, there is a bedroom in the back but you know you can't stay here for long,"

"Right, I know,"

"Exactly, and if you are going to sleep here, you going to have to work, I can't just accommodate you without having you work for me,"

"Uh...sure, okay,"?

"Good, now are you going to come now so I could show you to your room?"

"Sure," I said and stood and followed her, I guess the waiter just needed an extra hand which is why she allowed me to stay without thinking of it.

It wasn't a good idea but what choice do I have? At least I have a roof over my head and I get to eat free food. When I got to the room, it was not so bad though, but it was untidy. I arranged the room for the next 30 minutes and when I was done, I laid down and had some sleep. While I was sleeping, the waiter slowly opened the door and softly sighed, and then she closed it.

When I woke up, I walked to the main restaurant and I saw there were quite a plenty of customers already and she was the only one attending to them still serving them. I walked back to the room, got a piece of paper and headed walked to the waiting customers, then I began to take their orders, and while I did this, the waiter politely smiled at me.

When it was closing time, I picked a broom and swept the restaurant, when I was done, the waiter walked to me,
"Can we chat for a while?" she asked,

"Sure," I said and dropped the broom, and then we both sat down.

"I have no idea why you are here and I'm not going to ask because it could remind you of your current situation and make you sad. When you came to help me today I began to feel guilty, that you would get to work for me and I won't get to pay you because I let you sleep in the back,"

"No ma'am you did me a favour so I'm doing the same,"

"Sorry, I didn't get your name?"

"Angie,"

"Alright, and I'm Summer. Angie, I'm accommodating you because I want to help you. So I would be paying you like a normal person would, when you get enough money, maybe you could rent an apartment,"

"Mrs Summer, I swear you have no idea how grateful I am hearing this,"

Well, I began to get a hundred dollar pay cheque at the end of every week, and after a few months, I was able to rent an apartment and get a few stuff for my new home.
