Chapter 86: So Easy.
After visiting my school, I went back into the car and continued my search for a new apartment and a job. The first apartment I saw wasn't that good, it looked like it would be noisy so I left it and continued to search. The second apartment I found was good but it was very expensive. The third one I found, there was nothing good to write about it. After some hours of searching for an apartment, I became hungry so I went to a Chinese restaurant nearby to have lunch. After lunch, I went back to continue my search.
There were lots of apartments for rent but they weren't good enough. After two weeks I left home late to continue my search, but before then, I stopped at a fuel station to refill, while I was refilling, a car drove into the fuel station and a man walked out of the car, he was in a black suit.
When I was done refilling my car, I was about to get in but then he stopped me,
"Hi," he said and I looked at him, "Sorry I just uh...," he chuckled and cleared his throat while I sat in the driver's seat looking at him" You're really beautiful,"
"Thanks," I said and tried to close the door but he stopped me, "What do you want?"
"Can we maybe hang out sometime? I want to be your friend," He said,
"No," I said and tried to close my door but then he stopped me again,
"Come on, don't be rude,"
"You know what is rude? Someone wasting my time because he thinks I have the whole day,"
"Okay I'm sorry, but can I maybe have your number so we could maybe chat?"
I sighed,
"Your phone," I said and he handed his phone to me, I typed my number on his phone and gave it back to him, "Can I go now?"
"Hey come on, you don't act rude to others, what if I like you and just want to be your friend, nothing else I mean I have a wife and four kids, and I need a break from family stress,"
I looked at him curiously,
"Four kids?"
"Yeah," he said "Wait...take a look," he said and showed me a family picture of him, his wife and his four kids.
"That's a really beautiful family,"
"Thank you," he said and put his phone back into his pocket, then he stretched his hand, "I'm Angelo,"
"I'm Angie," I said and stretched my hand to him then we shook hands.
"Sorry for being rude, I'm just kinda frustrated and I thought you were one of those men who just go about deceiving girls with a fancy car on sult,"
He chuckled,
"Nah, I'm not that kind of a person, by the way, why are you frustrated?"
"For weeks now I've been looking for an apartment and a new job. But all the apartments I've seen have something bad about it and it's just so frustrating,"
"You see this is why you don't act rude to people, I have a very nice apartment for rent, let me refill and I'll take you there," he said and began to refill.
"Really?"
"Yeah," he said, after refilling, because we both had cars, he asked me to drive behind him so he could take me to the apartment.
After a 20 minutes drive, I arrived at the apartment and it was quite beautiful, we both got down from the car and he showed me inside. The apartment was so wonderful, best of all it was furnished.
"This apartment is $30,000 but because you're my friend, I'm going to sell it for $25,000,"
"Oh my goodness, thanks but I only have 20k,"
He sighed,
"Well I um, okay maybe you should pay the 20k first, then later on you could pay the remaining 5k,
"Sure, okay thank you very much," I said and wanted to pay but he stopped me,
"What do you want to do?" he asked,
"Pay the $20,000 as you said,"
"Come on, I haven't even given you the papers yet, what if I'm a scam?" he asked.
One thing about life is when you make a mistake and someone corrects you, you begin to ask why you made such a mistake. For example, what he said was right. Someone I met in a fuel station just showed me here and here I am, about to foolishly pay a man that I met not up to 2 hours ago $20,000, what is wrong with me?
"Right, sorry I just need to get this apartment real quick," I said and chuckled
"Yeah, I understand, but don't make such a mistake next time okay? You could get scammed,"
"Alright, thank you sir,"
"Of course, speaking of a Job, here is my card, come tomorrow morning to the address on the card at precisely 9 AM and I could find you a spot,"
I politely took the card from his hand,
"Thank you so much sir," I said then he smiled and walked away, while he had gone a little far, I raised my voice, "Really appreciate," I said.
