Chapter 25

(Amelia POV)

Marking Alexander with the mate mark did something to me that night. I felt a surge of power rush through me the moment we had bonded! Yet, it was different in a way that I couldn’t describe. I figured it had something to do with Alexander being a vampire and I had assumed already that mating with him would be different. But it was something different inside me that I just couldn’t explain. The whole night after I felt restless and like a slight burning near where he bit me. By morning I should have felt exhausted, but I didn’t, but I brushed it off because I had more important things to worry about.

I woke up and headed straight for the kitchen to get ad rink of water because as soon as I had woken, I felt so thirsty. I grabbed my phone from the counter and unlocked the screen to find several messages from Owen.

[Message:]

Owen: Amelia I made it home and it is a mess, there are homes that have been burned down…dozens injured and several killed. I don’t know who would do such a thing.

Owen: My mother was taken to the pack hospital but has not regained consciousness. Her injuries were severe.

Owen: Amelia, I don’t know what is happening…I thought I could handle this but something sems wrong. Our pack has some of the best defenses around and these monsters were able to get in. I don’t understand it.

Owen: My mother has taken a turn for the worst. They had to rush her into surgery. I don’t know what will happen…

Owen: Amelia…I need you here…

[End of Messages]

I need to get to Owen NOW! I rushed back to my room and tried to find something to wear. My heart was racing, and I could feel the panic only growing. As I was grabbing the clothes and heading toward the bathroom, I felt a hand grab me.

“Hey! Where’s the fire?” In my panic I had forgotten that Alexander was here.

“It’s the pack! Owen says its bad! We need to get there now!” I tell him.

“Ok. OK! Let’s hurry!” He tunrs and gathers his clothes from the floor and starts to get dressed.
For a moment I was reminded about what had happened last night and a blush crept up on my face, but I pushed those memories aside and hurried into the bathroom to fix my hair and get dressed. We were ready in a record time and out the door soon after. Thankfully it was a Sunday and my boss kept the café closed on Sundays, so no one was around. Once outside I realized that I didn’t have a car nor did Alexander.

“What do we do? How are we going to get to the pack now?” I said in frustration.

Alexander looked to be considering our options, but then he froze and looked at me in a slightly strange way.

“I think I know what we can do, but I admit I have never tried it before.” He says.

“Not really filling me with confidence here.” I say.

He smiles and walks toward me. “I can teleport us there, I just need to know where it is.”

I look at him and try not to show my worry, but what he was suggesting sounded way too dangerous. I am not a vampire, what could teleporting do to me?

“Let me ask my brother for the location.” I was nervous, but I trusted Alexander and our options were limited.

I dialed my brother’s number.

“Mia? Are you ok?” He asks.

“Yeah, yeah Liam I’m fine! Are you guys ok?” I ask with a shaky voice.

I had been panicked about Owen and now I remembered my brother and my best friend where in the pack when everything happened!

“Olivia is a bit rattled, but we are both fine!” He says.

“Thank goodness. I am trying to get there now.” I tell him but he interrupts me.

“No Mia it’s dangerous here! It’s a mess, you shouldn’t come.” He warns.

“I have to! Owen needs me and he asked me to come.” I pause and look to Alexander. “Besides I won’t be alone.”

“What do you mean?” He asks confused.

I hadn’t told him about Alexander yet.
“I’ll explain everything later, but can you send me your location, so we know how to get to the pack?” I ask him.

“Ok, I’ll send it now. This is the location to our cabin, so we will wait here for you.” He sounds tired.

“Ok see you guys soon!” I hang up and turn to Alexander and show him the phone. “Will this do?”

He nods and steps closer to me, wrapping an arm around my waist.

“Just breath deep, it may feel strange at first.” He closes his eyes and then a dark cloud surrounds us.

I didn’t know what to expect, but my stomach dropped almost like I was falling and then we land. The mist clears and we are standing in another place! He pulls away for a moment and we look around, soon a scream rings out near us and I turn to see Olivia looking at us with fear.

“No, Olivia it’s ok! He won’t hurt you!” I tell her walking toward her slowly.

She looks to me and then to Alexander several times still clearly in shock.

“You know this…this…” She seems to be struggling so I take her by the arms gently.

“He is a vampire, but not a bad one. He won’t hurt you. Trust me.” I say to her calmly.

Soon she begins to relax but then Liam rushes in.

“Olivia!” he yells as he rushes in.

When he sees Alexander, he freezes and within a second he lets out a deep growl. He moves to rush toward Alexander, but I am faster…somehow.

“Liam stop!” I say pushing my hand forward to stop him, but the force of my actions sends him flying back and hitting the floor.

He looks to me stunned and I am as surprised as he is, looking down at my hands as if they don’t even belong to me.

“L-liam I am so sorry…” I stutter out.

“What happened to you?” he asks me, fear in his voice.

“I-I…” I could not think straight.
I was supposed to be strong as a werewolf and even more so as the white wolf, but this felt different. I watch Olivia rush to my brother’s side and ask him if he is alright. Liam looks at me for a moment and his expression changes and he stands slowly. Once he is stable on his feet, he walks toward me, and turns his head slightly.

“What is on your neck?” he asks me.

Instinctively I move my hand to cover the side of my neck to hide whatever he sees. I had not looked at myself well this morning, so I was not sure what he was referring to.

“Did he bit you?” He asks with distain on his tongue.

“Liam, it’s not what you think!” I yell at him as he pushes past me toward Alexander.

“What the hell have you done to my sister Blood Beast?!” he yells grabbing Alexander by the shirt. “Tell me what you did! Did you turn her?”

What? Turn me?

I look to Alexander with confusion.

“T-that’s impossible isn’t it?” I ask, my voice feeling weak.

Alexander looks to me as if he is unsure as well. “I-I…”

“Answer me! Did you bit her enough to turn her?” He asks more firmly.

“I don’t know!” Alexander yells back.

And my heart drops. Was it possible? Could I be turned even as a wolf? No…no that’s impossible!

Right?
