Chapter 41

Alexander was able to convince Enzo and Elias to wait for Amelia to finish her shift before discussing anything. It was proving difficult for the three angry and on edge men to sit patiently in such a small apartment. Enzo especially was not shy about his displeasure, opting to express himself with occasional loud sighs and groans. Alexander was reaching the edge of his patience when Amelia finally walked into the apartment. She stopped and glanced at each of the men and couldn’t help the small the laugh that escaped at the sight of three grown men pouting like toddlers.

So maybe Anaya find it a bit more amusing and hadn’t fully retreated back into Amelia’s mind just yet. After the confrontation with the strangers outside, Anaya had thought it best to keep Amelia on alert.

“I will be with you boys in just a minute.” Amelia said removing her shoes and heading toward the bedroom.

She closed the door and rushed to the bathroom and closed that door as well. She turned and looked at herself in the mirror and tried to build that strong confidence she had earlier when she stood up against the two vampires.

‘Don’t worry I am with you. We will not look weak.’ Anaya assured her.

Amelia nodded, grateful for the fact that Anaya was still allowing Amelia to remain in control but also giving her that strength only Anaya knew how to use to their best advantage. It was a far cry from how things used to be between them, and Amelia was glad they had come so far. Anaya was mostly quite in her mind, giving her room to handle things unless it was absolutely needed that she step in. Today was one of those days when Amelia knew she needed her wolf’s help.

Amelia took a few more deep breaths before straightening out and opening the door to rejoin the others. The apartment was silent, and she wondered if maybe they had left but when she opened the door of her bedroom, she could see the three men sitting exactly the same as she had seen them not long ago. Enzo seemed to be still stewing making his face look like it was fixed in a scowl, and he was staring daggers at Alexander who seemed to not be at all effected. The other one, the one she hadn’t really met yet, was in his own world not seeming to even notice that anyone else was even in the room with him.

All of these things only made her feel more uneasy about asking these men for help. If Enzo and Alexander were going to be at each other’s throats the whole time, there was no way they would be able to get anything done. She tried to push her negative thoughts aside for now and walked over to the chair where Alexander was sitting and sat down on the arm of the chair. Alexander immediately wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her on to his lap, tightening his hold on her.

“Sorry about that. We can get started now.” Amelia says with a polite tight mouthed smile.

“Why don’t you just tell us what you want us to do so we can go find a place to stay. I do not plan to stay here especially to see the two of you all over each other.” Enzo says with a disgusted look.

Amelia sighed and sat up straighter and moved to face Enzo better.

“Fine. We have asked you here to help us intimidate a visiting alpha. My mate Owen’s father plans on using an alliance with the alpha to strengthen his fighting numbers. We are not sure why he wants to do this, but the fact is it doesn’t matter. It’s hard to explain but I know that he is willing to kill his entire family to get the power he wants. So, besides his willingness to kill anyone who gets in his way, his motives do not concern me. We want the three of you to attack various areas of their border and cause them to increase their security measures. Once that is done, we want you to break through the barrier and show this protentional ally that it wouldn’t be in his best interest to align with Owen’s father.” Amelia explains.

“So, you want us to what? Plan a fake attack? That’s it?” Enzo asks clearly annoyed.

“Exactly. Now we understand that attacking the pack means that some may be injured, and we are hoping that we can encourage them to leave more with the number of times the border is attacked instead of how severe the attacks are. In short, we don’t want to kill anyone. Understand?” Amelia asks firmly.

“Well, that’s a letdown.” Enzo says falling back in his chair with a huff.

“I am sure you can find some satisfaction in what we are asking of you without any blood spilled. The men assigned to the borders are only following their alpha’s orders, and don’t have any say in whether or not they want to be aligned with our pack. They also have families back home I am sure will miss them if they end up dead. We are not trying to start a war; we are trying to prevent one.” Amelia says.

“Fine. But how are we expected to remain in tip top shape when he says we cannot feed in this town?” Enzo asks his voice aggravated.

Amelia turned to look at Alexander knowing he was not going to be happy with what she was about to offer. He shook his head at her, but she ignored him.

“You can feed from me and only me.” Amelia says firmly.

Elias eyes lightened up at that, and he scanned over Amelia’s body hungrily. It must have been some time since had last fed for him to react in such a way. Alexander shifted Amelia in his lap so that he could be seen, and gave both men a warning glance.
“The only way I will allow you to feed from her is if I am there, and you can only take enough to regain your strength! Nothing more.” Alexander warned them.

“We will have to feed at least twice a day if those are your conditions.” Elias said his voice low.

“Actually, you won’t. See Amelia’s blood is…well…special.” Alexander says.

The two other vampires look at him curiously.

“Yeah, she is a very fancy werewolf, so you have said.” Enzo says with a roll of his eyes.

“Yes, and she is also a hybrid. She also contains a large amount of power, far more than any other white wolf ever has. So, trust me when I say a small amount of her blood carries quite a punch.” Alexander warns them.

Enzo scoffed and stood walking over to them and holding his hand out to Amelia.

“Show me.” He says as a challenge.

Amelia looks up at him, and Anaya peaks through smirking at the man. She was about to give him exactly what he was asking for, unfiltered power. Amelia’s power was contained in every cell of her body, evenly distributed. However, with Anaya’s help she could shift her power into a specific area of her body. Like creating spheres of pure energy in the palm of her hand, or by expelling the energy to create an energy field around her body. So, she planned to give the vampire a little taste by energizing the area just below her skin, so when the vampire’s fangs passed through her skin, he would feel a slight shock.

She held out her hand, wrist up and waited. Enzo took her arm gently and leaned in close, locking eyes with her until his fangs were hovering over her smooth skin. Her eyes did not waiver as he challenged her; she was not about to give him the pleasure of making her squirm under his gaze. He scoffed at her confidence and with a swift movement his pierced the skin and his body immediately shook. He held tightly on to her arm trying to drink as quickly as possible, fighting through the currents running through his body.

When it became too much, he retracted his fangs and stumbled back nearly slamming into Elias.

“Told you. Although, I am pretty sure she made the experience a bit more painful for you. It won’t hurt that much next time, unless you give her a reason to, I guess.” Alexander says taking Amelia’s wrist and whipping the blood away as the wound began to heal.

He smirked at the two vampires as he tilted Amelia’s head slightly and pierced her lower neck with his fangs. Amelia closed her eyes and melted into the feeling allowing Alexander to drink without pain, the others watching on.
When he was finished, he gently licked the area and pulled Amelia so that she was laying against his chest.

“Elias would you like to try?” Alexander offers.

The older vampire seemed to have sobered up from the sight of Enzo struggling not long ago and declined the offer.

“Very well, why don’t we discuss our arrangement then. Are you guys in or not?” Alexander asks.

Enzo stands and walks over to where he was sitting before.

“Ok we’re in. Because even though that hurt like hell….it was exciting! So yeah, I’m in!” Enzo says with a smile.

Clearly the guy enjoyed a challenge, and Amelia could admit they could use someone like that right now. She turned to look at Elias, who now seemed to be slightly afraid to look her in the eye.

“Uh yeah I’m in, but I won’t be drinking from her. I would prefer it already removed from her before I go anywhere near it.” Alexander laughed quietly at that.

“Very well! Since we are all in agreement, I will show you boys to the motel!” Alexander says releasing Amelia so she could stand.

Enzo groaned dramatically at the sound of the word Motel but followed Alexander out of the apartment door. Elias lowered his head to Amelia as he followed them, but Amelia called out to him to stay for a moment. She ran over to the fridge and pulled out a small bottle and walked over to him.

“Here, take this. I prepared it this morning.” Amelia says handing him the small vile. “Alexander is right, it might not seem like much, but it will do the trick.”

Elias gave her a faint smile and thanked her before following the others out.

They had agreed which meant all that was left was to plan the first attack.
