Chapter 20

Jason's pov :
I was about to take a slice of pizza but when I looked at her eyes, I was lost somewhere. Her almond eyes make me feel so thirsty that I want to dive into her eyes and want to drink the…
She cut off my thoughts, "are you deaf or what? Why are you just ogling at me? Have I done any crime?" She waved her hand in front of my eyes.
George coughed a little just to catch my attention, I looked at him, and he winked at me. My friends could be jerks sometimes, never missing a single chance to poke fun at me.
"Are you gay? Why are you winking at Jason?" Fiona saw him, why did he neglect that Fiona was also here with Lia? I wanted to laugh but the investigator was standing in front of me.
"Will you answer my question? I've asked you two times if you are free for tomorrow or not? I want to start the assignment, if you still want, you can change the partner because I don't like lazy bugs," she caught our attention and everyone forgot about Fiona's pretty cool question.
She crossed her arms and Fiona nudged her arm. They talked with eyes, exchanging a few glares and smirks that were completely out of the world to understand.
No, I couldn't lose this opportunity, "no! No! Not at all! I'm always free, you can call me whenever you want, I'll be present wherever you say," I tried my best to assure her that I'm the best partner she could have. I didn't want her to have a second thought about her project partner.
Fiona started giggling, and George accosted, "Jason, did you crack some jokes? People are laughing for no reason like jokers but they still look fucking pretty while laughing" He used his hidden weapon-sarcasm and didn't forget to add his filthy flirting with Fiona.
She stopped laughing and smirked at George, "if someone is saying call me without even giving his digits," she looked at me, "the person who has mind will laugh," Fiona looked at her target and threw her weapon-sarcasm. They both were good at fighting with sarcasm, I wondered what they would do if they got swords.
Fiona scored one, George was always on zero. He could never win any war against Fiona, my heart had felt millions of times that he purposely didn't try to win. Otherwise, he would never let anyone win in any type of fight.
"I'm sorry, you are right, Fiona! Thanks for reminding me," I tried to handle the situation because I couldn't enjoy this show when Lia was also here, and of course, she would try to help her friend.
We exchanged the numbers, and Theo offered, "girls, would you like to join us? Um, pizza is yummy, and after that, we will hang out somewhere, what say? Sounds cool?" He grinned and pulled out a chair for Fiona, and motioned me to do the same for Lia.
Without any hesitation, I followed Theo. He was the only one who was a gentleman, whom I could trust in these things. My playboys will find fun in everything no matter what, fun is fuel for their existence.
Lia opened her mouth, "sure! I love pizza, and even if you were not gonna invite us, Fiona and I would have eaten pizza at another table," she shrugged and smiled genuinely.
"What's your name, pretty girl?" Alex showed his applesauce.
The fury protruded in my body, for kick's sake, he was sitting beside me. I kicked his leg a little hard, he cursed me beneath his breath.
"I'm not used to being called pretty, my name is Liliana Watson, you can call me Lia," she drew everyone's attention.
George also took part in this, "you have a name of the princess, I'll call you Lily, you are as charming as lilies," he gave her an alluring smile, and I was feeling so envious of him. Why is his smile so captivating?
I'm afraid she will choose me or not when she may have a better option than me.
"I hate lilies and Lily both, call me Lily if you want to be on my hate list," she frowned. And I looked at George with a winning smile.
Fiona didn't miss the chance, "he deserves to be on everyone's hate list, he is just a filthy playboy," she smirked.
I feel so bad whenever Fiona quips him, her sarcasm hurts him but he will never complain or ask her to stop, he was not like this, the circumstances made him a playboy but though he never disrespected any girl, when he found his ex cheating on him, he didn't even utter a word to her, he just vanished from her life, and he never even mentioned her again.
I don't support his hookups but I can't even resist him doing so because girls adore him so much that they always agree to be a one-night stand.
"Yes, I'm a fucking playboy. Why is it your concern, boring girl?" George responded to her barbs for the first time, and everyone stopped eating.
"Be cool, guys!" I tried to shake the disaster,
"I don't show my concern for playboys, they are not even worthy enough to sit here with me," her tongue slipped. She made a harsh comment on him for the first time, she always offended him by cursing him or slapping him but this time, she offended him very bitterly.
He looked at her, picked up a tissue, and cleaned his mouth staring into her eyes. He kept swiping for some seconds, and then, just walked out without uttering a single word.
All of us looked at each other in a puzzle, he never behaved like that. He was the one who doesn't like giving up in any banter but I felt that he just did quit.
Fiona ran towards him and grasped his hand in her both hands, "I'm sorry! Please, forgive me! I shouldn't have said those harsh words," she pleaded guilty.
He didn't even look at her, "leave my hand," he mumbled.
She didn't move her hand, "I won't leave you until you forgive me," she challenged him inadvertently.
"I'm asking you to take off your hand for the last time," he still didn't peek at her.
He tried to walk but she pushed him towards her, he used his strength to loosen the grip of her hands, and he won.
Everyone in the cafeteria was already glaring at both of them, and when he removed her hands from his hand, she fell on the floor.
Lia ran out to her, and grabbed her arms, "are you okay, Fee?"
Fiona couldn't say anything, the tears were lightening her eyes, she stood up and felt mortified when she looked at us, she made her way to the outside.
Lia followed her but didn't forget to retrograde and give me a death glare.
Theo, Alex, and I looked at each other with confusion. We didn't know what to do and how to clear this mess, "we are fucked up, guys!"
"We need to go to George, what's wrong with this guy? I have never seen him losing his temper and behaving like a jerk," Alex asserted while putting his hands on his waist.
Theo also gave his opinion, "for the very first time, he responded to Fiona's taunts. I wonder what's going on in his mind," he said exactly what I noticed.
"Let's go, guys! I'm having double trouble with both sides," I pressed my lips, and we went to search for George.
We checked out the campus, and then, moved to the parking plot, his car was missing.
"He has left already, we are late." I declared in a loud voice.
Alex punched the wall, "shit! He shouldn't have left. I don't know where he has gone," our angry man also lost his patience.
"Man, control your anger! Don't hurt yourself, we should go to the bar," Theo put his arm on Alex's shoulders.
"No, let me make a call to him!" Alex pulled out his phone from the pocket of his jeans and dialed his number.
"He is pissed off, do you expect from him that he would receive your damn call, Alex?" I uttered when he dialed again.
As soon as I finished, his phone beeped, and he grinned, "I'm glad that at least he texted, he is saying to meet at his place tonight," Alex shoved his phone into his pocket.
"Okay! Let's call it a night out then, hmm?" Theo suggested and everybody nodded, We left the school and headed to our homes.
I arrived home and collapsed on the sofa, "please, bring me a coffee!" I ordered and closed my eyes. I wanted to talk to Barbie but she was busy with her fashion show, and I didn't want to disturb her.
Sometimes you need to grow up, you can't rely on somebody forever.
