Chapter 64

Liliana's pov :
From his humorous face and tantrums, no one could say that he was feeling so miserable in his heart.
All of us were so tired of talking so we decided to sleep. Jay was silent since he entered the flight. Somehow, it seemed that he was missing Barbie, he told me while driving to the airport that he never fought with Barbie so it was obvious that he was regretting his words a lot.
Pretending to be happy and being happy were two different things, and it wasn't that tough for me to get the difference between his pretending and happy face.
"What are you listening to?" I initiated the conversation.
He put off the headphone, "nothing special! Just my playlist!"
I was terrible at consoling people, I preferred a straightforward attitude so I just blurted out, "are you missing Barbie?"
"How did you know?" His eyes widened in surprise.
"If you are staring at your wallpaper picture and that is of Barbie's and yours, it's obvious that you are missing her," I shrugged while smiling.
He smiled, "she isn't even talking to me, it's the first time that we are…" he pressed his lips hard not to show his sorrow.
I gave him a side hug, "it's alright! Everything will be okay after some time, she loves you, she'll forgive you," I laid my head down on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Look at these love birds! They are gonna enjoy this trip more than us," Alex scoffed at us and glared at Theo. "No one cares for these heartbroken boys! God, why are we still alive?" Alex was back in his overdramatic mode. It seemed like when we were together, sleeping would be the last thing we would like to do.
In response, Theo just shrugged and smiled at everyone. "For me, it's not a trip. It's my everything. If I lose this competition, too, I don't know what I will do next, I'll be a loser."
His words were showing the pain of losing Barbie, maybe he should have told her before she started dating Derrick, it was too late for Theo to get her.
"You are not a loser, bro! You have a long life, it's just one competition," George tried to comfort Theo. "Have you told your dad about this competition?"
Theo sighed, "who cares? I'm never gonna tell him, he'll never allow me to go for any competition," his forceful smile was showing his pain again.
When we reached the airport, we got to know that George's dad had arranged a private jet so there was no one on the plane except us and the working staff. His dad owned the top airlines in the state.
"I care for my brother," I made a puppy face.
"We also care for you," Alex put his head on his shoulder. "We are brothers for life, man!"
Theo scowled and chuckled, "fuck off, Alex! You broke your promise and trusted your girl over your friends."
How could they behave so normal after the mess? They needed to discuss and talk to each other about the mess they had until one day ago.
"I accept that I made a huge mistake in my life," Alex stood from his seat and stood in the lobby. "I'm extremely sorry for that and don't mention that girl ever, she snatched my heart from me."
"Can we exchange seats?" Jay diverted attention from Alex. I rolled my eyes and we exchanged seats.
Alex bent down his head as an apology, "so you can punish me now." He leaned his upper body towards Theo and showed his butt towards Jay and George.
Without saying anything, George and Jay started kicking his ass, Theo also joined them. Fiona and I started giggling and closed our eyes by covering our faces with our palms. Oh! That's why he exchanged the seats so that he could easily kick on his hips!
Fee was just behind me, "these guys are crazy."
I nodded my head to support her statement while opening my eyes and laughing like a maniac.
She came next to my seat and sat there, "everything seems alright!" She mumbled in a joyful voice.
"Yes! Finally!" I sighed in relief. "Well, how did you convince your mom for this trip?"
Her cheeks flushed, "George handled everything. My mom already liked him, she always wanted me to date him so when he asked my mom, she immediately said yes on one condition that we'll return as soon as possible! In the next month, after exams, we'll apply for college so she wants us to take care of our studies, too."
"So all of you will be in the college and I'll be alone in the school, why didn't I come into this world earlier?" I pouted.
Fee giggled, "it's just one year! After that, we'll be together again."
But that one year would be so tough for me without those friends who always made me laugh. They made me feel that I deserved good friends and good people existed in the world.
Since there was no control of mine over the situation, I just exhaled and shooed away all the thoughts from my overthinking head.
All the boys were laughing and beating Alex while we were chit-chatting about our mother's reactions when we asked for permission to go to Singapore.
After finishing our gossip, we had dinner. At midnight, we finally slept after playing a lot of games and teasing each other.
Early in the morning, we finally entered the city of dreams. It was the city of dreams for Theo, the way he was telling everything seriously about that dance competition, it was like do or die for him.
I knew the value of dreams and passion so I got him, he was as ambitious as me.
Jay's parents owned a resort in Singapore so we went there to live for the entire trip. All of us were sleepyheads so we directly took the keys to our respective rooms and wanted to thrust our exhausted bodies in the bed.
The boys took their separate rooms, Fee and I decided to share the room because we wanted someone to be next to us so we couldn't feel alone in the new place.
Sleep overwhelmed me so I couldn't notice anything about the resort or my luggage, all I could see was the bed and a warm blanket. We had two beds in the room so I occupied the left one and Fee reserved the right one.
Sleeping like a log for hours, I yawned and rubbed my eyes. "Good morning, Lia!" Fee's sweet voice made me smile.
"Good morning, bestie!" I smiled and woke up from my bed.
The sun was shining too brightly for the morning, "seems like it's too late to greet the morning," I walked to the window and enjoyed the cool breezes touching my face.
I closed my eyes and for a moment, I just stood there smiling to enjoy the peace of my life and mind.
"It's beautiful, right?"
I opened my eyes to watch the scenario of the resort. It was a piece of art and a blessing to my eyes to be able to enjoy that view.
The big swimming pools all around the long buildings gave a giant look to the resort, greenery could be found everywhere, the long umbrageous trees picketing all the remaining space. The resort had an artificial texture yet it was giving the pure vibe of nature because of its enormous swimming pools and trees.
All the things seemed so small to me as we were on the top floor of the building perhaps. I couldn't even count how many buildings there were in the resort!
"Don't be so surprised! You still haven't looked around yourself, take a round of this room and you'll be more surprised," Fee narrated while giggling.
I glanced at the kids who were enjoying swimming in the pool with their families, maybe they were on vacation. I shook my head and smiled as it reminded me of my silly version. It was my wish to go to a picnic with my family as a kid.
"Oh my God! I don't wanna leave this place ever, it seems like our home. It has a kitchen, too," I screamed in excitement as I saw a refrigerator and a well-managed kitchen with a coffee maker and all the necessary things along with some gym equipment.
There was a library that had so many books. There were plenty of non-fiction books in the library, a television in the living room, our room had one kitchen, library, and two rooms attached to the gigantic hall. The luxurious room wasn't just a room at all, it was feeling like home.
"You are still missing one thing, go and take a bath in the bathroom," Fee shouted while strengthening her curly hair.
I just took my toothbrush and a bathrobe from my suitcase and rushed to the washroom.
"Wow! It's the best bathroom ever!" I yelled in excitement, a Jacuzzi bathtub was all I needed to chill out.
I picked up the rose flavoured body wash and enjoyed the morning bath. After spending one and half hours in the jacuzzi tub and washing my hair with the floral shampoo, I muffled my hair into a fresh towel that was already in the bathroom and came out in a bathrobe.
"Fee, it's my first trip and this resort is gonna be on my favourite list," I uttered while shutting the door of the washroom.
"Am I on your favourite list?" A dirty smile playing on his lips, when I met his eyes, I realized he was staring at my legs. The bathrobe was ending just above my thighs and it had a deep neck so I folded my arms to hide my breasts as I wasn't wearing anything under the bathrobe.
My jaw dropped, "you!" I closed my mouth. "Leave the room! Give me some privacy, Jay!"
He smirked, "I'm leaving for now but don't think that I'm not planning to leave the chance to…" he bit his lower lip and licked it to make me feel butterflies in my stomach.
I pressed my lips to hide the smile that was appearing without my permission.
