Chapter 68

Barbie's pov :
The manager peeked at me with an uneasy look, he was standing there silent for the last five minutes. Why wasn't he suggesting some better ideas to find them?
"Can you just stop staring at me with this look?" I scowled and tossed him a sarcastic smile.
He swallowed a lump in his throat and managed a polite look on his face. "Um, I'm waiting for your order. I can see you are confused but I can't help you, I'm so sorry!" He bowed his head a little.
"Jeez! Can you just stop apologizing to me? You have been repeating one word since I came here-sorry!" I rolled my eyes. I was already pissed off and his apologies were making me anxious.
That's what I came for, right?
To apologise to Theo!
He again bowed a little. "I'm…!" I cast him an I'll-kill-you look and he did shut the fuck up! "Mam, they have taken our cars that have GPS systems. We can track them and find out where they are," he muttered while widening his eyes as if he knew that idea was amazing! A moment ago, he apologized for not being able to help me but then, his brain gave an awesome suggestion.
I nodded and smiled, at least I could know where they were. The rest of the dramas could be handled later. First, I needed to know where Theo was! I was sure all of them would be together.
"Mam, you please sit here for two minutes! I'll let you know where everyone is as soon as our security team finds it out," he requested and indicated to me to sit on the sofa.
"No, I'm fine! You do your work, fast!" I was restless to see Theo. I couldn't even take a breath in relaxation, sitting was too far.
The receptionist came to me and asked me if I needed something but I had to say no. All I needed was to meet Theo but she couldn't give me his location.
The manager gave me the exact address of the hall where the competition was running, I didn't know the place and I wasn't in the mood for driving so he arranged a car with a driver.
And I was again travelling to another place. Seeing the roads of Singapore, overthinking about the consequences of confessing my love and mistakes, I reach the location after an hour.
I ran to the hall after grabbing my handbag and asked the receptionist which door to reach where the competition was ongoing! There were two doors but there was no information or board on the doors. She pointed me to the left door so I followed but two security guards came in my way and stopped me. "You can't go in without the entry pass." The guard with a beard informed me in a cold tone.
What the fuck! I was already frustrated with the things that happened to me after coming to Singapore. First, I couldn't find Theo and when I found his location, the guards didn't let me go in!
I wished I would be a vampire so that I could have the power of hypnotizing anyone. Like Demon and Stefan in the vampire diaries, I could make people do what I wanted. But I was a damn human who couldn't do it.
They were as cold as ice so there was no way they would let me in without an entry pass. "Where can I get the pass?"
"Seems like you want to be in the audience." The other taller guard accosted.
I nodded and curled my lips inwardly. "Yes! Please, tell me quickly! I need to visit someone right now."
The bearded guy apprised me. "You can ask for help at the reception."
I sighed and put my hand on my head, my destiny was playing games with me. If that's what it wanted to do, I would also play and fight with it. Either I'll get him or I'll lose him forever!
I have been loving him for four years, I have waited for his love. All the waiting made me feel distraught always, I couldn't wait for more. I wanted him, he wanted me, that's it!
Thanking the guards, I hustled to the reception. "Hello! I want an entry pass."
She passed a genuine smile. "Sure! You want to…"
"Meet...um, be in the audience. To watch the competition!" My mind was still stuck on the thing that I wanted to meet Theo so I was stuttering.
Quickly clenching the ticket, I whizzed to the entrance of the competition area. The guards opened the door for me, I passed a grateful smile to them and made my way to the love of my life.
I looked around the place, the stage was so far away from where I was standing. Where would be Theo? How to find him in that huge place. The seats for the audience were almost full, the last row was empty. And I was standing exactly beside it.
"And the next are those performers whom our mentors gave the challenge of salsa. Both contestants are solo dancers but they came together as a couple to take this challenge. So raise your hands for a beautiful pair, Theo Walters and Casey Stewart." The anchor announced and everyone started clapping to welcome them.
Theo was going to perform which meant at least I made it in time to watch his performance and cheer him up. Dance was his passion, love, and everything. When he dances, no one can resist watching him.
"Theo! Theo! Theo!" I started yelling his name and clapping with an energy that came suddenly when I remembered what dance meant to him. When you love someone so deeply, you can feel happiness in that person's happiness. Your happiness lies in that person's happiness. That's how unrequited love is!
Being a dancer was not just a dream for him, dance meant the world to him, he felt alive when he danced. Jay told me everything about his passion for dance when I first time saw him dancing at Jay's birthday party and lost myself in enjoying just watching him dance.
He appeared on the stage with that girl in a matching red coloured costume, the song started and they danced with so much intensity and passion that their closeness was making me envious of that girl.
I loved his solo performances more, I couldn't see him dancing with any other girl. My heart was sinking to see him holding that girl so close that their bodies were glued to each other.
"That's what Salsa is! That's how Salsa should be performed!" My mind again started fighting with my heart.
The music stopped and people started shouting their names and cheering them so I realised that the performance was over.
"You guys look so beautiful together, your chemistry is mindblowing. I wish someday we would be able to see you as a couple." The anchor opened his fucking mouth and the audience shouted with enthusiasm.
Did I come to Singapore from Los Angeles to hear that?
"Casey, do you have a crush on Theo? Because the way you look at him while dancing makes me feel like you have something in your heart for him. Theo, I guess you were trying your best not to kiss her." One of the mentors asked a ridiculous question that had no relation to the competition.
"Yes! Because we have seen many dancers and so many couples who started their journey of love and dance from that stage." The other mentor started supporting the first maniac mentor.
The urge to make them understand why they were sitting on the chair of judges was arising in me. What the fuck was happening there! Why couldn't they just give the numbers or their opinions on the performance instead of judging their love life?
Fuck! They didn't have a love life. Theo and Casey were just dance partners, nothing else!
"Everything changes in a second, it was two days, Barbie! Two days! Things can change, feelings can change, a person can change, too!" My trash brain again started giving me unnecessary advice and excuses.
No! Theo couldn't forget his childhood love in just two days.
Casey tugged on Theo's hand and leaned forward to kiss him. I couldn't see it, I couldn't see him kissing another girl in front of me, in front of the whole world. I turned my face towards the door, I was just opening it but then, I heard the sad noises from the audience.
"I'm sorry but I have had someone in my heart since the fifth grade. I love her more than I could think of loving anyone. Maybe we are the best couple as dancers but in real life, my heart belongs to someone else. I'll wait to have that girl but I'll never go for any other girl in this life. I wish that girl could just turn to make my heart skip a beat like always." The disembodied voice made me stop from leaving.
My fairy tale will have a happy ending for sure. My ordeal will come to an end. My heart won't be broken. My smile won't vanish from my face ever. My man will love me in all situations no matter what! My destiny was with me and helping me to get my love. My patience will give me what I wanted so desperately. I won't regret coming to Singapore! It'll be worth it! In the end, everything will be worth it.
