Chapter 98

Jason's pov :
George and I were the only ones who were together in the class because we took the same subject-business. Alex went to the law department, and Theo was graduating just for the degree, he was in the arts section. Fiona and Theo chose the same subject so they had few classes together.
The school was fun, we were together in one class. College was just about study, assignments, and exams. Barbie was in the last year of her college, luckily, all of us were in the same college. Lia was the only one who was still in school, and that's what I didn't like the most.
Suddenly, we were feeling like grown-up kids. Everyone had a goal to achieve, Alex was so focused on being a lawyer, he abandoned learning business even though his dad was a successful businessman.
I was more surprised when he told us that his dad didn't force him to study business. Theo's dad wasn't talking to him, he was still against his dance career. George wanted to help his father so he was learning from his dad, too. After all, being the CEO of airlines wasn't easy.
The one thing that I noticed about my friends was that everyone was being so focused after being in a relationship. Alex wanted to be a lawyer because he wanted to fight against his father in court and as the powerful man his dad was, no lawyer would stick against him so he decided to take the case into his own hands.
Fiona was doing an internship at a publishing house, Barbie was rejecting almost every offer for advertisement except a few good brands, she was waiting for the fashion show in London. Never to mention, she didn't miss eating like a glutton, but she wasn't lazy while burning calories in the gym either so it was a win-win for her.
Theo was learning at the dance school and doing part-time teaching in a dance academy. Winning the competition in Singapore brought good fortune in his life, he loved teaching dance to kids and the income was so far good. My girl got promoted as a manager in the restaurant.
Alex and I were the only ones who were idle, he had buried his head in the books. Remembering the laws wasn't a child's play so practically, everyone was working hard for a good future except me.
"Dude, my dad wants me to attend a party!" George pulled me back to this world, I was so lost in my thoughts. The professor was shouting something while writing something on the board, his voice was so harsh that I didn't want to attend the lecture but I couldn't abandon the economics classes as it's important.
I yawned and started playing with my pen. "What's the big deal? We attended only two college parties and I'm already missing partying like we used to do in school and vacation. This college life is fucking boring, George!" I cursed a little loudly, I realized it when the professor stared at me.
"Out, right now!" He shouted like a devil as he doubtless was. Everyone in the class turned to see our pretty faces and I rolled my eyes at them before leaving the class. As an obedient student, I didn't need to be told twice.
George followed me as he was listening to me, the professor wasn't going to forgive him at all. We both laughed and started sauntering to the campus.
We saw Alex talking to a girl, that girl was asking something shyly and he was replying with a cold face. She was probably asking him out, I could guess it from her expression.
"It's not a cool party like we do, it's a party where all the professionals will hold a glass of wine in their fucking tuxedo. Plus, no music!" George uttered and I smirked at the scene.
Throwing my hand on his shoulder, I pointed toward that girl, "fuck that! Look at that chick!"
"Who is that?"
"Let's find out!"
We strolled over to him and Alex scowled after seeing the smirk on our faces.
"You know what, I don't have time for your survey so please, fucking leave! Who asks about personal relationship stuff in a survey? I wonder if you have that kind of survey really or you're trying to hit on me." Alex freaked out and sighed.
The girl that seemed innocent a minute ago, narrowed her eyes and shouted, "fuck you! You're not Harry Potter, I was feeling nauseous after seeing your filthy face but as I had to do this survey, I was tolerating it."
"Whatever! Leave now! Don't block my way!"
"This road isn't that short," she widened her arms indicating the width of the road. "Fucking spoiled rich dad's prince!" She cursed before turning her heel on and Alex's jaw tightened at her words.
We were just standing there beside him, with the shut zip of our mouths. He ignored her and started walking in her opposite direction.
"Why was I feeling like she is Fiona's sister?" I mumbled and George waved me off. That girl reminded me of how George and Fiona used to fight.
Alex turned to face me and showed his middle finger, with a sarcastic smile on his face. "Not all the fights end up with romance so stop imagining!"
He wasn't wrong either, I shrugged and avoided discussing it further. Fiona, Barbie, and Theo were still in the class so we went to the cafe and ordered burgers for ourselves. We were so busy with our schedules that sometimes we couldn't even meet each other for a whole day.
"Sometimes I miss how we used to hang out usually, and now we don't even see each other in a day." Taking the burger in my hand, I looked at everyone else and they nodded in agreement.
"Suddenly all of us started doing the work and you know, my dad treats me like an intern in my own company," George explained and everyone stared at him.
Alex scoffed, "you are an intern, your dad is the owner." All of us started laughing, and it felt good whenever he mocked us because at least he laughed.
"Whatever! I'm his only son and I'll be the owner one day, he could give me a manager's post, too," George grumbled and finished his burger.
"You ate without me," Fiona made a puppy face and hugged George before taking a seat.
"Hunger is more important than love, right George?" Alex winked at him and he shot him a death glare.
She slapped his arm and ordered a sandwich. "I was just kidding, I'm not like bimbos." She grimaced in disgust and George kissed her cheek. "Guys, why don't you find a girl for him so he can make her laugh by his silly jokes rather than bullying us?"
"Oh, please! I need peace, after a horrible breakup I've learned my lesson that a peaceful life is better than a romantic life." Smiling sheepishly, he wiggled his eyebrows at Fiona who stuck her tongue out at him in response.
"What about Theo and Barbie? Where are they? We had decided to meet at the cafe in the morning, right?" George inquired and I took my phone out of my pocket to give my sister a call.
Fiona interrupted me, "I met them before coming here, they are going to Theo's dance academy so they won't come. I really miss Lia, isn't there any way she can skip a year?"
I shook my head as no, she wasn't the only one who was missing Lia, I was missing my princess more than her.
"Let's party tonight! It's been a long time since we lived our lives. It already feels like I'm a dead-walking person." George suggested and I nodded.
"I'm in," Alex confirmed and checked his phone as it beeped. "Guys, my mom is asking me to meet tonight so I'm not in. I'm sorry but as you know, we met a long time ago and she never asks me to meet her so I have to go." He explained and seemed a little worried.
George and I patted his back, we understood each other better so we weren't mad at him. George cancelled the plan, the party could be postponed.
We took our different ways, and mine ended at Mary's restaurant. Seeing her talking to a middle-aged man, I wondered who that man was?! Lia didn't like talking to strangers so I was sure that she knew that man. His silhouette seemed familiar so I went closer to him.
"Hey, when did you come?" Lia uttered in a cheerful voice and I bent a little to hug her, she was sitting next to that man.
Fuck! It was Alex's father, but how did she know him?! "Just now. Hello, Mr. Jonas!" I greeted him and he nodded, smiling.
"So you both are dating or just friends?" He directly asked us and I found it weird because it was none of his business. Why would he give a fuck about our relationship status?
"Meet my girlfriend, Lia!" I smirked and put my arm on her shoulder, she felt uneasy as that old man was staring at us with raised eyebrows.
"How do you know him?" She whispered in a low voice so he couldn't hear.
I mouthed, "later!" And she exhaled a breath.
He caught our attention as he spoke, "well, you're lucky that I have met you today. Her dad and I were going to put Alex and Lia together so we could be a family and take our business to the next level together."
"Wait! That's why you were trying to get to know me for the past an hour? And do you think that I'm a fool who'll give the right information to a stranger?" She questioned and he nodded, putting his hands on the table. "Sorry, but I'll never leave this man for any business deal! I don't care about the money or your damn business."
Before I could tell her that he was Alex's father, she rose and threw the glass of water on his face. I couldn't believe that instead of being freaked out, Mr. Jonas was smiling. "That's why I wanted you to be Alex's wife."
I offered him a tissue with an apologetic look on my face and pulled Lia's hand so she could take her seat back. I got that doubt in her eyes, but I assured her and she sat beside me. Although his words fueled my anger, I still had to tolerate it because he was my buddy's father.
"That stupid friend of yours needs someone like Lia who can love him and make him believe that love exists so he can just forget about what happened with his parents and what his ex did to him!" He uttered, wiping his face with concerned eyes. "Can't you just choose your friend's happiness and leave this girl for him?"
Lia gazed at me as she realized that he was talking about Alex, that Alex who was our friend. I suppressed my lips and she rolled her eyes as she got the hint.
"Excuse me? Are you talking about me? I don't give anybody the right to make decisions in my life. And I can make someone's life hell if I want to." She warned him with gritted teeth and I felt happiness in my heart, my love was a badass and bold girl. I loved calling her my love, for me, her name was MY LOVE. That's how I wanted to introduce her to everyone but she would kill me if I dared to do that in front of strangers.
