Chapter 49
Liliana's pov :
A tomboy Lia never felt excitement for her birthday but Jay has awakened the girl in me and shamelessly, I'm behaving like a girl for the last few months.
Life has been easy for me since he appeared in my boring life though I won't give the whole credit to him only. Fiona has also given me what I wanted since childhood, I always wished for a friend like her, and surprisingly, Jesus granted my wish.
Hey, Jesus! I'll visit you in the morning on my birthday. As a good human being, I'll also show my gratitude towards you but can you grant one more wish of mine? I want those crazy friends and their giggles back in my life, I want you to do some magic and reunite my boys.
Their friendship was the reason that I started believing in the friendship. And seeing them falling apart is not something that I can tolerate. Please, God, do something and make it happen!
"Angel, when are you going to invite your boyfriend for dinner?" My mom made me realize that I wasn't in my room, I was sitting at the dining table with my food and thinking like a maniac.
I took a bite of toast, "mom, why do you want to meet him? And forget it if you are gonna ignore my question as always," my dear mother has been asking me the same question since the day she saw me in that bold black dress.
I still remember her words, HOW COME YOU BECAME A GORGEOUS GIRL? WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN? She didn't even bother to shut her open mouth as she kept staring at me like she was seeing me for the first time.
And when I told her that the credit goes to Fee and Jay, she started liking Fiona and it won't be too much if I would say that she has become a fan of Jason Casano.
"Girl, you are going to be eighteen tomorrow. And we need to know the guy whom you are dating so it's the process which you won't understand so just do as I'm saying," my mom passed me a glass of milk and gave me a perfect queen smile. The lips were curved a bit but not too much, and the teeth can't be visible in that smile.
"I would like to know that process," I said with a cool attitude. I was curious to know that bullshit process. I wasn't a fool to expect something normal from the Queen.
Her eyes widened, "really? Are you interested in knowing that process?" She paused for a second and again started speaking as if she couldn't take a risk of waiting for my answer, who knows when I'll change my mood and delete the interest. "First of all, the boy is invited for dinner at the girl's house, and then, the girl introduces him to her family. The same goes for the girl, the boy's family invites her to dinner and they know each other."
"And then, they keep visiting each other's family. After that, their family arranges a get-together, they meet each other and see if they are matching with their standard or not and then, the couple gets engaged and then, they get married. A happily ever after! And I can already see a happily ever after of yours because you have chosen the best partner for you."
As soon as my mom finished her sentence, I got what she was trying to do.
I stood up from the table, "mom, I'm still young for marriage. And I don't believe in your old customs, I'll take my time and let you know when I'll be ready for the marriage," I didn't wait for her answer and started walking towards the gate.
"You have to follow the rituals and do as I say if you won't do it, I'll do it by myself. I'll invite him myself," my mom yelled in a threatening voice.
I didn't have time for her drama, I needed to make a solid plan to reunite these guys and for that, I needed peace.
So I sent a text to Fee to meet me at a cafe near her house. It was a weekend and I told her to rest on a weekend. As always after a lot of arguments, she accepted my request.
I called my driver and asked him to drop me at the cafe. After half an hour, I finally reached there.
"We can go to my place, we live in a small house but it's a clean and warm place. My mom also wants to see you," Fee murmured while standing outside at the cafe.
"Fee, I also want to meet your sweet mom but I'll see her any other day because now, I can't wait for our boy's reunion. We need to make a plan and execute it soon," I tried to be straight as I couldn't comfort her because my mind had so much stuff and tension in it. And I knew, she'll understand this.
She smiled, "I got it. I'm also tired of George's dreary face, he doesn't show how much he is missing everyone but I know, he wants to meet and talk to his friends," she authorized a cornered table and took a seat.
"Same with Jay! He tries to hide the pain but I can see it in his eyes. What should we do, Fee? How can we know what happened between them?"
"Why don't you ask Theo about it?
"He will not tell me anything. I'm sure he was the first one who gave up on trying to keep everyone together. As far as I know, Theo is the most mature one among everyone in age, behaviour, and mind, too. And if I'll ask him, Jay will surely put an argument between us and I don't want that."
"Right now, you are more mature than everyone else. You think a lot, and that's your plus point that you try to decipher the situation and people deeply."
My mind was my pride, so I accepted the praise shamelessly and smirked, "what should we do now?"
Fee sighed and rolled her eyes, "I'm wondering why this isn't in the newspaper and on every social media yet…! Everyone in school is talking about these guys' splitting up, and the rumours are saying that we are those bitches who separated them. B3 came to me yesterday to ask how I seduced George! I wanted to kill those witches, I'm sick of these B3."
"Why didn't you tell me before? I would have done that job for you," I winked at her.
She giggled, "the best weapon for these kinds of people is to ignore them."
"I also heard these rumours and it pisses me off why they don't mind their own business…! But as usual, I don't care about them," I looked at the waiter who was standing next to us and smiling genuinely.
Fee ordered one lemonade for her and I ordered a latte for me, the waiter left us alone and we started our discussion again.
"I tried to talk to George about this but he changed the topic and I never dared to ask again." She simply put it.
I put my face between my palms and rested my hands on the table, "that means George, Jay, and Theo won't tell us. Now, our only hope is Alex but we need to meet him before we make any plans, right?"
"Yeah, and guess what, we already have one reason to meet him," she shrugged and smiled so sweetly as the Korean actresses smile in dramas. Fiona had made me try so many things in the past few months. K-drama is one of them.
I didn't get what the excuse was so I raised my eyebrows in disarray.
She smacked her head with her palm, "tomorrow is your birthday, right?"
"Oh, yes!" I smiled as I got it but what was the connection between my birthday and our meeting with Alex? "Wait, are you thinking about throwing a birthday party and inviting him over to that party? Let me tell you one thing, Fee! I've never celebrated my birthday in my whole life and I'm not going to arrange a party, no! No!" I shook my head.
Fee folded her arms, "choice is yours, either sacrifice your I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT," she mimicked me, "or let's try to sort this out! It's already been two weeks since the boys haven't talked and met with each other. They don't even sit closer in the school, George sits with me. Jay, Theo, and Alex sit with different guys and never try to talk to anyone in the class."
Why do I need to do that awkward thing?
"I'm sure there will be another way, let's go to his place and ask him about what happened that day!" I suggested a different idea.
"Are you out of your senses? Wouldn't it be more embarrassing?" She looked at me with narrowed eyes.
I hid my face with my hands, "Queen is already eating my head for inviting Jay for dinner, if I throw a party, she'll be on the ninth cloud. I can't afford to handle her madness," I closed my eyes to think better.
An idea popped up in my mind. "How about lying that I'll throw a party and you'll tell Theo, Jay, and George that it's a surprise party for me? We'll go to Alex now and try to dig his mind to know what happened between them and even if we can know nothing, it's fine! We just need to make sure that he comes to the party, uh, fake party, okay? And when they four will reach there, we'll lock them in a room and won't open the door until they solve the matter."
Fee chuckled, "it sounds childish but I guess it should be effective."
"Hope so…, My fingers are crossed."
The waiter brought our orders, "enjoy!" He again threw a genuine smile.
Fee gulped her lemonade, "and we will go shopping for your birthday after inviting him to your birthday party, and I don't want any argument on this topic. I know, you have so many clothes but for your birthday, you should have the sexiest outfit so that Jay can't take his eyes off you," she threw a mischievous smile at me.
"He never takes his eyes off me even if I'll wear a simple t-shirt," I blushed while saying. It was the fact, he always says that I drive him crazy with just a simple smile.
