I Hate You

Sophia was preparing for work when Katherine questioned. "Did you know that Jake called yesternight?" Katherine asked. "When? Did he call you or me?" Sophia asked. "He called you and you even picked the call," Katherine said. "Oh. I've been too tired to recall that. I will call him later in the day. Enjoy yourself," Sophia said. She soon got set for work and left.

"I don't get why you kept ignoring my calls," Linda said fuming. She and Henry was in the evalator. "I'm sorry, baby. I've been too busy. You know Mr David is leaving soon so it so happen to that I might be the next person," Henry apologised and held Linda's hand but the latter let it slipped. "C'mon, Dia. Smile for me. You know your smile motivates me a lot," Henry said. "Shush! That is all he knows. Just to sugarcoat someone," Linda said. "The sugar is for you. You and you alone," Henry said and pecked Linda. "Yenyenyen," Linda made a childish sound. "C'mon," Henry pulled her closer and kissed her on the lips. "Let go, pervert," Linda said and soon the elevator stopped. The duo stepped out of the elevator.

"Hey Henry, how are you?" Drey questioned waving from his seat. "I'm fine and you?" Henry replied. "I can tell you are fine. Even your lips supports you," Drey said. Henry looked at Drey confusedly. Of course his lips should support him, he spoke with them. "Yeah," Henry said lamely. "Hey guys! Good morning," Miranda greeted in her usual lively tone as soon as she entered the office. "Morning, Mimi. I guess you had a great night," Drey responded. "I told you to stop calling me Mimi," Miranda chastised Drey who just looked indifferent. "Definitely I had a great nice but not as great as Henry's. He even received a good morning kiss," Miranda said like it was a normal thing. "Kiss?" Henry questioned. "Yea. You have a lipstick stain on your lips to tell the world that you've been kissed today," Miranda said. Drey looked at Miranda with a frown but his eyes had laughed uncontrollable. "He is my friend, you know," Drey said feigning pity. Henry grinned from ear to ear. "That is morning blessing of the mouth. Anything I say today shall be beautiful," Henry said gesturing dramatically.

Ren was referred to the hospital. He laid in bed wallowing in self-pity. He regretted following his mother's instruction. Talking about his mother, Clara just entered the ward now. "Son, how are you feeling?" she asked patting Ren's hair. "I was doing better but when I saw you now, I'm afraid I will do worse," Ren said weakly. A tear slipped down his eyes. "Ren, have you lost it? What do you mean?" Clara questioned. "You made this happen to me. All I did was being an obedient child who listens to his mother but what did gain in the end? Pain. Suffering. Lack of true love. The one who truly loves me left me because of you. Everything is caused by you. You. You brought me nothing but hurt. I hate you. I regret to know that you birthed me. Wait, it's only us here. Why did you hate Katherine? Why did you? Even your poo doesn't get so much hate. Why? You can't talk again? Your mouth has been borrowed?" Ren fired at his mother.

Clara patted his hair gently. "Let go of me. Let me be. Where is the one you want me to marry? Where is she? Look at me here in the hospital and she is nowhere around. If it were Katherine, she would be here. Unless she sees I'm fine, you won't leave but the one you want me to marry," Ren nodded his head in pity. "I feel sorry for myself," he said with more tears streaming down his cheeks. His mother left the ward and went to see the doctor.

"Good day ma'am," the doctor greeted. "Good day," Clara responded. "You can have your seat," the doctor smiled professionally. "What is wrong with my son?" Clara asked. "He has heart attack but that has been taken care of. He is now suffering from high blood pressure. He has stressed himself both physically and psychologically, especially psychologically. I will advise he see a therapist or some psychologist after he has been discharge," the doctor said. "Are you trying to say my son now has a mental illness?" Clara asked almost flaring up. She couldn't wrap her head around the information the doctor is feeding her.

"Don't quote me wrong ma'am. I'm not insinuating that your son has a mental illness. He just needs to see a therapist. I think just experience heart break. I will also advise that you call the girl. Urm, Katherine, that is the name he has been mentioning," the doctor said. "Alright. Thanks. My assistant will see to the bill," Clara said and left the office.

Katherine had her breakfast around ten in the morning. She tuned the television in to SpongeBob SquarePants. She was laughing and giggling to the show. The popcorn she ordered was almost down. She went to the kitchen to get a cup of milk. She was enjoying her show when she heard the doorbell ring. She paused her show and went for the door. She opened the door and almost screamed. At the door was Clara, Ren's mother.

"Good afternoon," Clara greeted. "Good afternoon ma'am," Katherine replied. She began to deliberate on either to let her in or not. "Am I so unwelcomed that you didn't even try to let me in?" Clara said. Katherine opened the door wider and let Clara in. "You can have your seat," Katherine pointed out to the chair opposite where she had sat earlier. Clara looked around the messed up sitting room. She was amused when she saw that Katherine was watching SpongeBob SquarePants. "How can I help?" Katherine asked politely interrupting Clara's surveillance. "I see that you have a beautifully messed up house," Clara said with sarcasm. "I don't think that should bother you. It's my house and I will do anything I want with it," Katherine responded. "Your mates are working but here you are watching SpongeBob SquarePants," Clara sneered. "I can play it on if you like it too," Katherine replied with a smirk. She can't allow a nobody come to her house to insult her without her retaliating.

"Could you please go straight to the reason you are here? I've a cartoon to watch," Katherine said. "Okay. I'm here because of Ren," Clara said. "I can't go back being together with him. That can only happen in his imaginations and dreams," Katherine said with her arms folded. "I'm not asking you to come back to him," Clara said. "Then why are you fucking here?" Katherine questioned. "I'm here to warn you," Clara said. "Why? I've left your son already. What do you want more? What else can make you happy? For me to leave this country?" Katherine raved on. "I want to warn you. If anything happens to my son, you will be dealt with too. All because of you, my son is beginning to develop mental illness. All because of you, my son now sees me as a bad mother. He is beginning to believe everyone is darkness and that you are the only light. All because of you. You this useless scallywag thing," Clara ranted pointing an accusing finger at her. Her voice was trembling. It was as though she wants to break down but her pride was too much for her to break down in the presence of Katherine.

"Fine. Good. Beautiful. Now you want to cry? Did you remember how much I cried too when you insulted me while I was still dating your son. God, I was a fool of love. I thought you will like me as time goes on but I was wrong. When I was beginning to feel a little safe, your stupid son who I regretted loving cheated on me. When I questioned him, he said you made him do it. How the hell is that possible? I agree that you are manipulative but your son is an idiot. If not that he had also wanted to cheat me, why would he have agreed with you? I was blinded by love then not to see the flaws of the person that said he loves me. I was just stupid then but not anymore. Do you know what you have to do to me now? Get out of my house. You and your son can go to hell for all I care," Katherine said angrily and opened the door for Clara. "I warned you already," Clara said before leaving. "If you try to hurt me, you will be surprised when you see the one to defend me," Katherine threatened back. Clara finally left. Katherine locked the door and burst into tears.

She felt relieved as though a burden has been taken off her.
