Admit It
Sophia and Katherine had left home for Jessie's place when Jake's call came in. "My love," Jake said as soon as Sophia picked up. "How are you, sweetheart?" Sophia responded. "I'm fine and you?" Jake replied. "Good too. How is Kat? Does she feel better?" Jake questioned. "Yes. She is very fine. We are even on our way to Jessie's place," Sophia said. "Orrrhhhhh. When I learned that you are not going to work today, I made plans for us," Jake said. "Till evening then," Sophia said. "Alright. Put Katherine on the line. She need a earful for making my baby worried," Jake said. Sophia chuckled and handed the phone to Katherine.
"How are you now? I hope you feel better," Jake asked after exchanging pleasantries. "Yes, I do. Thanks to your baby. I'm glad that I have her," Katherine responded. "That's my baby but I have to reprimand you for making her worried," Jake frowned. "I apologise," Katherine mumbled. "I can't hear you," Jame said. "I apologise," Katherine mumbled again. Sophia just chuckled looking at her. "Again," Jake was being mischievous. "Ha! I've never have to apologise to someone for making my best friend worried," Katherine grumbled. Jake laughed. "I was just stepping on your nerves," he said still laughing. Katherine glared at Sophia giving her a 'if I get hold of him, I will skin him'. Sophia smiled and said, " Do so if you can." "Alright," Jake's statement made Katherine remember she was still on a call, " Talk to you later. Tell my darling that I love her," Jake said and ended the call.
After ending the call, Jake looked at Mr Olsen and smiled. "Satisfied?" he asked. "I told you I wasn't interested in listening to her voice so why ask me if I was satisfied or not?" Mr Olsen responded. "Your brain is being cocky but your facial expression is so glad that you can't seem to keep the corners of your lips from curving," Jake said. "Stop being assumptious! That you are smiling doesn't mean I am too," Mr Olsen said unable to stop smiling. Jake laughed jestly at him. "Admit that you are glad and feel satisfied after hearing her voice else......," Jake trailed off with a naughty smile. "Else what? What do you wanna do?" Mr Olsen queried. "I will just call her and tell her you are a gay," Jake said dipping his hand into his pocket to retrieve his phone. Mr Olsen quickly held his hand stopping him from getting his phone. "Stop Jake. Stop being mischievous. Okay! I know you wanna hear it! I feel satisfied and glad after hearing her voice. Don't call her, okay? I'm still trying to solve a mess. Please, don't add more to it," Mr Olsen's eyes were pleading. "Awwwn. So cute. It's been ages since I saw you like this," Jake smirked. Mr Olsen let go of Jake and straightened his face. "We should get going already. After all, they have left home too," he said and went in to get his car key.
The ladies got to Jessie's place. They embraced each other while exchanging pleasantries. "Hey Sophy, look how chubby you look," Jessie pinched Sophia's cheeks lightly. "Don't call me chubby. It makes me feel like a fat big baby," Sophia was being childish. "Call her chubby. She looks so cute telling us not to call her that," Katherine said. "No. No. Don't mind her, Jessie," Sophia said holding Jessie's hand like a child holding the hand of an adult who has his candy. "Okay. Okay. I won't call you chubby, Jake's favourite," Jessie said deliberately teasing her. "Stop making me blush. My cheeks are burning," Sophia said covering her face.
They set the table and began to play the Scrabble Katherine and Sophia had brought with them. "Katherine, don't be a cheat. 'Dis' is not a word," Jessie said. "It's," Katherine insisted. "I disagree," Jessie stood her ground. "Okay, let's check the dictionary but one rule. If 'Dis' is a word, Jessie will lose ten points to Katherine and vice versa if 'Dis' isn't a word," Sophia said. "Are you sure about this, Jessie?" Katherine questioned. "Yeah. Very sure," Jessie responded. "Alright!" Sophia opened the dictionary on her phone, "I'm checking it all and 'Dis' is......," she paused and looked at the duo. "Stop being dramatic and tell what 'Dis' is," Katherine frowned. She was sure to the bone marrow that 'Dis' is a word. "'Dis' is a word," Sophia said. Jessie groaned and nodded in negativity. "You are just supporting her because she is your best friend," Jessie said. Sophia laughed, "It was the dictionary that confirmed it not me," she said. "Your dictionary is an outdated edition. Let me check it on mine," Jessie said and brought out her phone. She checked and realised that 'Dis' is truly a word. "All the dictionaries are fake," Jessie said.
Katherine and Sophia laughed making fun of Jessie. Jessie has the lowest point already so losing ten points to Katherine is painful. "You guys shouldn't worry. Let's continue. If I don't win this round, I will definitely win the rounds to come," Jessie said. "Wonderful. Great admonition you are giving yourself," Katherine clapped. They continue their game. They were almost done with the present round when the doorbell rang. "I will get the door. Don't look into my tiles. I got my eyes on you, Jessie," Katherine said and went for the door. "Katherine can be scary sometimes," Sophia laughed. "Dee is like that too. Mostly, being the domineering one," Jessie smiled. Katherine skipped to the door and opened it with a large smile on her face. Her smile froze as soon as she saw who was at the door.
"Who should drive?" Mr Olsen asked when they got to the garage. "You of course," Jake responded. "I don't feel like driving," Mr Olsen said. "Me too," Jake replied with his arms folded across his chest. "Jake please," Mr Olsen pleaded. "No," Jake said, "To be fair, let's do rock, papers and scissors," he added. "C'mon, that's too childish," Mr Olsen said with a frown. "Then drive," Jake said and entered the car. "Alright. Come out and let's do it," Mr Olsen finally agreed. "If I win, you will drive," Jake said. "Deal," Mr Olsen replied. "Deal," Jake responded. The duo did rock, papers and scissors and Jake won. "You cheated," Mr Olsen said. "We had a deal," Jake said and got in the car. "Really?" Mr Olsen questioned no one before entering into the driver's seat. "Come and sit beside me at the front," Mr Olsen said to Jake who was sitting at the left side of the backseat. It's a general custom that car owners sit at the left side of the backseat if they have a driver. "It's just for you to drive. It doesn't matter where I seat in as much as I am in the car with you," Jake smirked. Mr Olsen hissed and ignited the engine. "I'm not your chauffeur," he grumbled.
"Let's get snacks for the ladies," Jake suggested. "Bills on you," Mr Olsen said. "Huh?" Jake's mouth was agape. "What huh? Don't you have enough money to pay for snacks? Are you that broke?" Mr Olsen said, "Moreover you suggested it," he added. Jake scoffed, "I can't believe you. You love being the responsible one. What happened to that?" he enquired. "Should I stop at Snacks and Go or not?" Mr Olsen questioned ignoring Jake's question. "Answer me first," Jake insisted. "I'm a changed person. I realise it's not always good to be the responsible one. Give others the chance too. Here is your chance to prove your responsibilities," Mr Olsen said. Jake laughed, "Pull at Snacks and Go. You are only trying to get back at me because I made you drive," he said. Mr Olsen stopped the car at Snacks and Go park. He turned back to punch Jake but the latter bolted out of the car laughing.
