Dylan And I?
Miranda rushed to the office and sat beside Sophia. "What is the latest news now?" Sophia asked. She knew that for Miranda to come in hurriedly, she must have something important to share. "You won't believe me if I tell you," Miranda said. "Just spit it and stop making me curious," Sophia said. "I think there is something going on between the CEO and Katherine," Miranda said. "Katherine? Which Katherine?" Sophia questioned. "Your best friend of course," Miranda responded. "No. There is nothing between them except boss and employee relationship," Sophia said. "No. They are definitely more than employer and employee," Miranda said. Sophia laughed. "Mr Olsen is not qualified to be Katherine's ideal man. Moreover, if there was something going on, I would have been informed," Sophia said. "I'm serious. There is definitely something going on. I saw them hugging," Miranda said. "Hugging? That will never happen. Mr Olsen hates females," Sophia responded. "That is just rumors," Miranda said. "It's no rumor. Katherine even confirmed it. You know she is his assistant. She told me he makes her work tiredly," Sophia said. "Alright. Let's say I saw them too close to think they were hugging," Miranda said. "Exactly," Sophia nodded and went back to what she was doing.
Katherine got home before Sophia as she was allowed by Mr Olsen to go home earlier. She had wanted to stay behind till Sophia was done but Sophia suggested she go home and prepare their dinner. Soon, Sophia got home too. "How are you?" Katherine asked doubt the last setup of the table. "I'm fine," Sophia said and sat on a sofa. " Is there an occasion?" It was Sophia asking seeing how well organised the dining table was. "No. Why do you ask?" Katherine replied. "Look at how you organised the table," Sophia said. "You know I got home early so I was just doing anything to wail away time," Katherine said. "Okay. Let me freshen up and come back to eat. I'm hungry," Sophia said and went inside.
"How about Jake?" Katherine asked while they were eating. "He has gone to Japan," Sophia responded. "Again?" Katherine was surprised. This is the third time he is visiting Japan this week. "Yes. He said the new deal required his presence a lot," Sophia said. "Okay," Katherine nodded. "Urm, I heard a rumor," Sophia said. "About what?" Katherine's interest was piqued. "You and Mr Olsen," Sophia said. "Dylan and I?" Katherine was surprised. "Dylan?" Sophia became curious, especially as Katherine referred to Mr Olsen with his first name. Katherine quickly covered her mouth with her palm after realizing her slipped of tongue. "Whatever rumor about us is not true," Katherine said. "I want to believe you but you addressed him by his first name," Sophia dropped the spoon with her on the table and folded her hands across her chest.
"He said he loves me. He also insisted that I call him his first name. You know how dictatorial he is," Katherine said with her puppy face. "How come? How did he love you? I mean, he hates females," Sophia said. "Yes but how am I to know how it happened? He just spat it that day we went to visit Jake at the hospital. I didn't take him serious but as time goes by, I realised he was serious," Katherine responded. Sophia sighed. "How do you feel? I mean how do you feel towards him? Do you reciprocate the feeling?" Sophia asked. "No. You know he is not my ideal type of guy," Katherine said. "I think you should resign," Sophia suggested. "Why?" Katherine was amazed. "To stay away from him. Don't worry about getting another job. I will talk to Jake about it," Sophia said. "Give me some time. I will ponder on it," Katherine said. "Alright," Sophia nodded.
Jake dialed Sophia's number as soon as he alighted from the plane. "Hi baby. How are you? Hope you didn't miss me much?" Jake enquired with a grin on his face. A wide grin. "I'm good and you? I didn't miss you a bit,' Sophia replied. " Hmmm.... Say 'I do' three times," Jake said. "Why? I do what?" Sophia questioned. "Just say it first," Jake persuaded. "Okay. I do. I do. I do," Sophia said wondering what Jake was up to. "I do miss you too," Jake said. Sophia laughed heartedly. "You are cunning. That's cheating," Sophia said. "No. No. It's no cheating. I just made me tell me you miss me cause I know you do," Jake responded. "Yenyenyen," Sophia made childish sound. "Are you home already?" Jake asked. "Yes. I just finished having my dinner," Sophia answered. "What about my dinner?" Jake asked. "Don't worry. Your weekend meal will be on me," Sophia said. "You are coming to visit me?" Jake asked. "I said it already," Sophia rolled her eyes. "Yipee! Don't worry, I will cancel all my weekend trips," Jake said. "So you even have more trips to go on this week?" Sophia was surprised. Who won't be? It's just Thursday and he has gone to Japan three times and there is still trip over the weekend. "I said I will cancel it already," Jake said. "Alright. Except me by weekend," Sophia said.
"I'm even coming to your company tomorrow," Jake said. "Don't come to my department or try to have lunch with my team mate. I don't have strength for their unending question especially from Miranda," Sophia said. "I'm coming as a businessman," Jake laughed. "Better," Sophia responded. "That doesn't mean I won't come to your department. As a businessman, I have to go round the company," Jake had a mischievous grin. "Whatever!" Sophia said. Jake laughed at her. "Don't worry, I can't make my baby uncomfortable," Jake said. "Okay. Get home quickly, have your bath cause I know you are very lazy then order your dinner. Don't cook. I don't want you stressed," Sophia quoth. "I just wanted to prepare noodles," Jake said. "Don't cook. Listen to me," Sophia said authoritatively. "Alright ma'am," Jake gave in. He knew if he continued arguing with Sophia, they will never end the call. "Good boy," Sophia smiled. "Bad girl," Jake mumbled. "What did you say just now?" Sophia asked even though she heard him clearly. "Yenyenyen," Jake made a childish sound. "Good night love," Sophia bade smiling at Jake's tantrum. "Love you," Jake responded and made a kissing sound before ending the call.
Katherine was checking through her mails when Mr Olsen's mail popped in. She opened it. "Hi baby. I hope you are doing good. Do you feel better? If you do, reply this mail with your favourite emoji. By the way, we have two meetings tomorrow at the same time. One at our company ; the other at Heritage. Which will you like to attend?" Katherine chortled at the message. Nevertheless, she replied the mail. "I will attend the meeting at Heritage," was simply her reply. As if he has been staring at his phone screen for her response, Mr Olsen replied in less than a minutes. "Alright. I would have convince you to stay at the company but I know how strong headed you are so I'm okay with your response. By the way, you didn't respond to the first part of the message," was Mr Olsen's reply. "If I wasn't fine, I wouldn't reply the mail. Also, we are nothing so stop trying to be romantic with me," Katherine replied and log out of her email. Mr Olsen sulked after reading the reply.
