Valentine 2

The interior of the penthouse was beautiful. It has fluorescent light luminating everywhere. A piano was playing John Legend's 'All of Me' slowly in a corner. Sophia felt like the luckiest person on earth at that moments. Jake looked at her and smiled. Sophia blushed. "I hope you like what you see," Jake lean in and whispered those words to her. Sophia just nodded. Jake held Sophia's hand and pulled her gently to dance.

They began to dance slowly with smiles on their faces. After about ten minutes dance, Jake told Sophia that they should leave for the next place.

Rose petals led the way to a garden which was lightened by candles and the moonlight. A small stool and chair was placed in the middle. The stool has a flower vase on it placed at the centre. As soon as they sat, Tatiana's song titled 'Helplessly' began to play in the background. Their dinner was brought to the stool while the pair were staring at each other lovingly. "I feel lucky to have you, psycho-angel," Jake said. "Me too," Sophia wanted to say but she shut her mouth; she just smiled.

After dinner, they were having desserts when Jake took Sophia's knuckles and kiss it. Sophia beamed. He helped her up. They both strode to another part of the garden. This other part was also beautified. "I've been waiting for today for so long that now that the day is here, I feel like I just got the most beautiful woman," Jake said. Sophia laughed lightly. 'Jake and his lines,' she thought. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Jake professed to Sophia with one of his knees bent over on the floor.

Sophia couldn't hold her tears. She let them flow freely. She has waiting for this day. She has had series of thought about it. She thought Jake didn't want to officiate their relationship. "Yes," Sophia responded nodding her head repeatedly in affirmative. Jake stood up and stared at the lady he love this much. "When I come to this world again, I will ensure I bump into females at the grocery store. That was where we met first," Jake said. Sophia laughed and said, " I will also ensure that I go grocery shopping." Jake locked eyes with Sophia. "I love you," he said. "I love you too," Sophia replied with a smile. Jake pulled her into a kiss.

Sitting under the moonlight, Jake's smile couldn't be washed away as he watched and listen to Sophia talk about the flowers in the garden. "Look at a shooting star. Let's make a wish," Sophia said as she look at Jake. "Okay," Jake said and closed his eyes. "I wish all my wishes come true," Sophia wished. "I wish to have Sophia as mine forever. Bless us and our love," Jake wished. "I'm so happy it's you," Jake smiled and kissed Sophia. She kissed him back.

When Sophia got home, Katherine was already asleep. She used her spare key to enter. She showered when she got in. By the time she got out of the bathroom, Katherine was up already. "How are you? How was you guys outing?" Katherine asked. Sophia went to the wardrobe and took her pyjamas. "It was awesome. We are officially a couple now," Sophia smiled. "I'm happy for you," Katherine said, "Finally, ever single Sophia is in a relationship," she laughed. Sophia laughed with her. They were having their girls' talk when Sophia's phone rang. Yes, you are right. It was Jake.

"Have you gotten home?" Sophia asked. "Yes," Jake replied. "Alright," Sophia replied smiling unknowing. "Okay. Good night. Have a beautiful dream and make sure I'm in your dreams. Don't worry, you are in mine already," Jake said. Sophia laughed lightly, "Sure sweetheart," she said. "Love you," Jake said. "Love you too," Sophia responded.

"God! I might soon be diagnosed with diabetes. You guys sweetness will never wanna let me be," Katherine said. Sophia laughed. "Common, don't make me blush. I've blushed enough today," Sophia said. Katherine stood up from the bed and went to talk something in her wardrobe. "I'm sure you are so excited about today that you might have forgotten my Val gift. Anyways, here is yours," Katherine handed a wrapped gift to Sophia. "Permission to open," Sophia said. "Sure," Katherine smiled.

Sophia unwrapped the present and found a mug which has her picture on it. "This is beautiful," Sophia hugged Katherine. "I didn't know you and Jake will be together so soon. I got this for both of you," Katherine said and handed the other gift sitting beside her to Sophia. "Permission to open?" Sophia said. "No baby girl," Katherine responded. "Okay," Sophia kept the present aside, " I got you something too," she said. "What?" Katherine was eager to know. Sophia went to the bag she brought in and brought out a necklace. It was the one Katherine had said she liked but didn't have enough money to buy one. "My God! You are the best," Katherine hugged her. "You never stop being one too," Sophia hugged her back.

The following day, Sophia was all smiles. Her smile was so contagious that some workers having a bad day already were elated. "Good morning everyone," Sophia greeted smiling when she got to her office. "Morning," they responded. "How was you all night? Mine was awesome," Sophia enquired. "It wasn't bad. What is up this morning? You are happy in a different way," Miranda said. "Nothing. I'm just happy," Sophia replied and sat on her chair. "Common, we are both females. Talk to me," Miranda said. "Talk to me too. I'm a female," Drey sat beside Sophia and flipped an invisible long hair.

"You can never change. You are a male. Stop meddling in female talks," Sophia said pushing Drey away. Drey made a puppy face and sulked. "I'm a female. Look at me," Drey said, stood and turned around like princesses' do. Miranda and Sophia burst into laughter. " Let's just pretend he is not here," Sophia said. "He? He will surely say something to whatever we say so that he can let us know he is still around us," Miranda said. "We talk during lunch then," Sophia said. "Yeah. That is way better. We won't have a meddling male with us," Miranda said eyeing Drey. "Meddling female," Drey corrected and flipped his invisible hair again. Miranda and Sophia laughed.

When it was time for lunch, before Sophia could leave the office, Jake's call came through. "Hello baby," Jake said when Sophia picked the call. "How are you cute monkey?" Sophia replied. Jake laughed, " I don't like that name," he said. "I love the name for you," Sophia said, "And you know I know the best for you," she added. "Okay. You won again," Jake said, " It's lunch time. Have you gone for yours?" Jake asked. "I was about to leave when your call came through," Sophia said. "Oh? I will call you later then. Go and eat," Jake said. "Listening to you filled me already," Sophia blushed. "I know but I still want you to eat some food," Jake said. "You want me to get fat," Sophia said. "No. I want you to have enough energy for work after lunch," Jake defended. "Okay. Okay. I will go have lunch," Sophia said. "Good girl. Cute monkey loves you," Jake said. "Pyscho-angel loves you too," the call ended.

Sophia was at the door when William entered the office. "Aren't you going to have lunch?" Sophia asked. "I came to see you," he said. "Okay. What's up?" Sophia stepped in back. William brought out a flower from behind him. "Happy Valentine. Sorry it's coming late," he smiled. "Thanks," Sophia collected the flower and placed it on her table. "I know this sounds sudden but I love you. I've been in love with you for so long but I was just too timid or maybe afraid to tell you how I feel," William said picking his words one after the other. Sophia's smile didn't leave her face. "Thanks for the flower and the wish. I'm glad you summoned up enough courage to tell me how you feel. I appreciate that. I'm sorry for how you will feel because I can't reciprocate your feeling. I'm in a relationship already and I love my boyfriend," Sophia said all these still smiling. William smiled to hide how hurt he is. "Thanks. I appreciate the fact that you came clean with me. Anyways, happy Valentine once again," he said and left the office.
