Let's Do This My Way
The drive from Jake's office to Sophia's office was slow as there was heavy traffic. Sophia had to wait for an extra twenty minutes before Jake arrived. Jake stepped out of the car an walked up to Sophia. Sophia jumped on him and hugged him tightly. Jake hugged her back. "What took you so long?" Sophia asked. "There was a heavy traffic," Jale responded. "Okay. What surprise do you have for me?" Sophia asked as she interwined Jake's hand and hers. "Don't be too curious," Jake said. "Hmmm. My baby is always up to surprise me," Sophia pecked him lightly on his cheek. Jake smiled. Sophia jabbed him. "Men are not suppose to blush," Sophia said. "Only you can make me," Jake replied.
"Which home am I taking you to today, madam?" Jake asked when he had ignited the car's engine. "The one you took me yesterday," Sophia replied. "I just hope the sign post has been brought down. Dylan is gonna make fun of me again," Jake mumbled. "Are you talking to me?" Sophia asked innocently even though she heard him. "Have you brought down the sign post?" Jake asked. "You will find out yourself," Sophia responded. "Have you forgiven me?" Jake asked. "Yes. Since long ago. I was just having fun seeing you sulk," Sophia smiled and faced front as though she didn't just reply Jake. "I knew it! I knew you were being mischievous," Jake said. "I learnt from the boss," Sophia said. "Who is the boss?" Jake asked. "Who else if not you?" Sophia answered. Jake grinned.
They soon got home. Jake was glad the sign post has been removed. He made a puppy jump. Sophia smiled with love in her eyes as she watched Jake. "I'm the luckiest person for having him as mine," she smiled. "Whoopeee! I miss home," Jake ran off inside. Sophia shook her head. "How childish," she commented. She went to prepare dinner as soon as she got in. She was about to lit the gas cooker when Jake came to the kitchen. "I ordered our meal already. I don't want you stressed after working tiringly at work," Jake said. "I'm not tired. We didn't do much work today," Sophia responded and went ahead to lit the gas cooker.
Jake offed the gas cooker. "Please," he made a puppy face at her. "Alright. Just today," Sophia gave in. She went to freshen up, changed into her pyjamas and went to the sitting room. When she got to the sitting room, Jake was on a call. She sat beside him and rested her head on his chest. "Won't you come over today, the man who was sent out of his house?" Mr Olsen asked over the phone laughing. "I won't. I've been accepted back in my house," Jake replied. "Don't worry, I will make you make her angry again so that you will be thrown out," Mr Olsen said. Jake laughed, "I won't make that happen. Never again," he said. "Alright. Bye. My regards to her," Mr Olsen said. "Okay. Bye," Jake ended the call.
"You are done so fast," Jake said rubbing Sophia's hair. "Yes. Where is the food you ordered? I thought I heard the delivery boy," Sophia said. "Yes. Come," Jake said. Sophia stood up and was held by Jake as he led her outside. "The dinner is outside?" Sophia asked. "Just wait and see," Jake said. "Okay," Sophia agreed, "Why do I have a feeling this is the surprise you have for me?" she asked. "Sure," Jake nodded. "No wonder you insisted that I don't cook," Sophia said. Jake smiled. He led her to the garden.
When they got to the garden, candles and the moonlight were the only light illuminating the garden. A soft music was playing in the background from somewhere in the garden. At the centre of the garden was a dish that was covered with an umbrella-like lid. Rose petals surrounded the dish. Two mats were also spread on the ground in opposite direction. "My lady," Jake said and pointed at a mat for Sophia to seat. She smiled and sat down. Jake sat opposite her. "It's been a while we went on a date so I came up with this," Jake winked at Sophia. "You are the best. This is beautiful. I wasn't even expecting a thing like this," Sophia said. "I'm not the King of Surprise by mouth only," Jake said prideful. Sophia laughed. "That's all you know," she said. They had their dinner, bantered and then went to sleep.
Katherine was surfing the internet when a message from an unknown number popped on her screen. "I'm sorry about today. I was only selfish," the message read. Katherine discarded the message thinking it was a mistake. She believed whoever sent it must have mistaken her number for another's. "Why aren't you saying anything? Are you asleep already?" the number messaged again. Katherine decided to reply the message so that the person will be aware it's a wrong number. "I'm sorry but you've messaged a wrong number," she texted. As soon as the message was delivered, the number called her. She picked the call.
"Kat," she heard Mr Olsen's voice. Katherine hissed and wanted to end the call when Mr Olsen pleaded that she should listen to him. "What now?" Katherine questioned in a harsh tone. "I know what I did was bad but I was just being irrational. I didn't want you to leave by my side. I only said those words to make you stay," Mr Olsen said. Katherine didn't make a comment. "Kat, are you there?" Mr Olsen asked when he didn't get a response. "Please say something," Mr Olsen said. "What do I need to say after all I am dispensable," Katherine said. "Kat, please. I'm apologising already," Mr Olsen said. "I can only accept your apology if we do it my way," Katherine said with a mischievous grin. "What is your way?" Mr Olsen said.
"Firstly, you will apologise to me in person. You will pay for emotional damages. You will increase my salary by five percent. You will also never talk about getting intimate with me," Katherine said. "I will apologise in person tomorrow when you come to work," Mr Olsen said. "No. You will come looking for me then you will apologise," Katherine said. Mr Olsen was left mouth agape. "Is that okay by you or not?" Katherine asked. "It's okay," Mr Olsen agreed. "Good. We are good with others too, right?" Katherine asked. "Yes but.....," Katherine interrupted. "But what?" She asked. "I will be allowed to talk about getting intimate with you outside work," Mr Olsen said. "No," Katherine refused. "We will do this my way then," Mr Olsen said.
Katherine thought for a while and decided to agree to Mr Olsen talking about getting intimate with her outside work. She knew if she agrees to solve the issue in Mr Olsen's way, it won't favour her at all. "We are not solving this your way. Fine. You can talk about getting intimate with me outside work," Katherine said. Mr Olsen smiled. "Good girl," he said. Katherine rolled her eyes. "So? Kat, how about we meet tomorrow after work for a date?" Mr Olsen asked. "What? You haven't even done the other requirements," Katherine said. "Your response sounds like you want me to meet up with other requirement before we go on a date," Mr Olsen said. "I don't know what you are thinking but that is not it. Good night, boss," Katherine said and ended the call.
