Why?

Katherine got to work on Monday in her usual bright smile. She stopped by at Sophia's department to check if she has arrived. She met her arranging her table. "Good morning, babe," Katherine hugged Sophia. "How are you?" Sophia smiled back at her. "I'm good and you? I can even see how good you are from your radiant smile," Katherine responded. "I'm cool. Just hungry," Sophia said. "Even I haven't had my breakfast. Let's meet at the cafeteria," Katherine said and left to drop her bag in her office.

When Sophia got back from the cafeteria, she met a package on her table. "Who dropped this here?" Sophia asked everyone in the office. "The security brought it in saying it's for you," William replied. "Did he say who sent it?" Sophia enquired. "Yes, he did," Miranda answered. "When?" the others chorused. "When I went after him," Miranda rolled her eyes. "Who did he say it was?" Sophia asked sitting on her chair. "Your boyfriend," Miranda said.

Sophia opened the package to behold her favourite breakfast and an apology card. In the card, Jake made Sophia understand that it was Mr Olsen who made him go to Japan against his will. Actually, Mr Olsen had decided to take the blame so that Sophia can forgive Jake quickly as per he is her boss. He literally used his boss influence. Sophia dropped the card in her bag. The breakfast was placed somewhere beside her table. They all soon get to work.

"Good morning Mr Olsen," Katherine greeted when she got to the office after her breakfast with Sophia. "Morning, my always beautiful Kat," Mr Olsen smiled. Katherine rolled her eyes and sat at her desk. "Today's schedule: you have an appointment an hour before lunch. You've another after lunch. The appointment after lunch will take approximately three hours and by then it would have been evening. In a nutshell, you'll be going home from the meeting," Katherine said professionally. "How competent," Mr Olsen complimented, " Am I to attend the meetings alone?" he questioned. "I will accompany you to the first one but you'd be attending the second one alone," Katherine responded. "Alright," Mr Olsen nodded.

Katherine got busy with checking and sorting out files. There was really nothing much to do because she has done most of her work from home during the weekend. She began to play games on her laptop after she was done with the files remaining. She was so engrossed in the game that she didn't realise Mr Olsen was at her table until he cleared his throat. "Sir," she stood up immediately. Mr Olsen raised his hand and touched the hairpin she used on her hair. "Did you enter my room when you went to the mansion?" he questioned.

Katherine swallowed. "I told Gina I wanted to see the room," she said. "Why? We are not dating," Mr Olsen said. "Yes. It was just curiosity. I wanted to know what your room used to look like," Katherine said. "Entering my room is one offense. Taking my hairpin is another offense," Mr Olsen said. "Sir, I was fascinated by the beauty of the hairpin. I was like: how can such a beautiful hairpin be left without beautifying anyone?" Katherine responded. "As much as the hairpin looks beautiful on you, I don't want you using it," Mr Olsen said and removed it from her hair. "Why?" Katherine questioned. "I don't want you using it. Ask no more question," Mr Olsen said making to leave for his seat. "Is it because you were putting it on when Piper poured the acid on you?" Katherine said. Mr Olsen stopped on his track and turned back. "You know this much already. I wonder what more you know," Mr Olsen said squeezing the hairpin in his hand till it bent.

Soon, it was lunchtime. Sophia told the others that she would take the meal sent to her in the morning as her lunch. The others told her it was fine and stepped out to get their lunch. It wasn't up to five minutes after the others left that the security guard brought another package. "Your boyfriend told me to give you," the security guard said. "Is he still outside?" Sophia questioned. "Yes ma'am," the security guard responded. Sophia stood from her seat and went outside with the security guard trailing behind her. Sophia sighted Jake's car in the parking lot. She went to the car and sat beside the driver's seat.

"How are you darling?" Jake tried to peck her but Sophia stopped him. "Are you still angry with me?" Jake sulked. Sophia looked at Jake and alighted from the car. Her smile was wide as she went back to her office. All she wanted to do was get a glimpse of Jake. Jake in the car was wondering what that was about. "Ghad! How much more can she get dramatic?" Jake pondered watching Sophia go back to her office.

Sophia got to the entrance of her office to meet Mr Olsen. "Good afternoon sir," Sophia bowed. She waited expecting Mr Olsen to leave the doorway but he stood transfixed. "Sir? Could you please let me enter the office?" Sophia requested. Mr Olsen cleared his throat. "I apologise for making Jake miss your weekend plan," Mr Olsen said. "Alright sir," Sophia bowed. "Have you forgiven him?" Mr Olsen asked. "No," Sophia answered. Mr Olsen had a 'what-like' look on his face. He now saw what Jake meant by she is different and difficult to handle. "Okay. Can I bribe you?" Mr Olsen asked. "The bribe will determine if I can be bribed," Sophia said. Mr Olsen brought out his phone and showed Sophia something on it. Sophia smiled. "I'm bribed already," Sophia smiled. "I will send it to you," Mr Olsen said and went back to his office. He still couldn't believe Jake made him apologise to Sophia.

Jake was outside by the time Sophia closed from work. Sophia sighted his car and went in. "Sweetheart, how are you? How was your day?" Jake asked smiling "I'm fine. How are you too? My day wasn't so wonderful until I received a bribe," Sophia replied. "You took a bribe? You know it's not good," Jake said. "Some bribes are good. I received the good one," Sophia said. "Can I see it?" Jake questioned. "No. No. No," Sophia nodded. "I miss you. Not being able to talk to you for three days felt as though I was running insane," Jake said holding Sophia's hand. "I miss you more but don't ever make me angry like that again. If your plans change, just call me immediately," Sophia said and leaned in to kiss Jake. Jake had a grin on his face. "Where do you want to go now?" Jake asked. "Home," Sophia responded. "Yours or mine?" Jake asked. "Mine," Sophia responded.

"I thought you said you own my house through out this week. Or what was it about the 'Jake keep off ' sign post?" Jake mumbled. Sophia rolled her eyes. "You don't understand simple things. You asked, yours or mine? I chose mine. Common IQ," Sophia said. "Common IQ? Ohh," Jake smiled realising what Sophia meant. "I'm lucky to have you," Jake said looking lovingly at Sophia. When they got to Jake's house, they both alighted from the car. Sophia stopped on her track when she saw that Jake was following her. "Why are you following me?" Sophia asked. "We are home," Jake said. "We? Don't you see the sign post? Jake keep off! Once I remove it, you will be allowed in," Sophia said. Jake stood with his mouth agape and his hands on his waist looking at Sophia as she walked into the house. He felt helpless. "Can I still stay at your place until I'm allowed in?" he asked immediately Mr Olsen picked his call.
