He Made a Mess

Sophia was surprised. "Please ask the lady what her name is," Sophia said. She was thinking it is Jessie. "Your name, please," Sophia could hear Linda questioning the said lady. "Gina," the lady responded. "She said Gina," Linda replied. "Urm, please tell her to stay a bit longer. We will soon close," Sophia said. "Alright," Linda hanged the call. Sophia tried to recall if Jake ever mentioned the name but no, he hasn't. Linda told Gina if she can wait since Sophia said she will soon be going home. Gina accepted.

Soon, Sophia came downstairs. Gina who had been shown Sophia's picture recognised her immediately. "Good evening ma'am. I am Gina. I've been waiting for you," Gina introduced. "Good evening. How are you? I guess I don't need to introduce myself," Sophia smiled. 'Wow. This Sophia is beautiful and nice. I like her already. Bro Jake is an expert in falling in love with the right lady,' Gina thought. "If you don't mind ma'am, let's step outside," Gina said. "Sure," Sophia responded.

When they got outside, Sophia sighted Jake leaning on his car. He was busy with his phone so he didn't notice her. "That's Jake, right?" Sophia asked Gina. "Sure. We are going to him," Gina said. The duo got to where Jake was. "Hi Jake," Sophia tapped him gently. "Hello beautiful Sophia," Jake smiled at her. He didn't notice Gina. Gina cleared her throat with her arms folded. "Kat....," Jake froze when he saw Gina. "Gina, what are you doing here?" Jake questioned.

"Jake, I hate you. So, what I heard is true. You have been cheating on me. Just because I travelled for a while, you took to other girls," Gina ranted. Jake was left mouth agape. He didn't know what reply he should give. Sophia couldn't believe her ears. "So Jake has been lying to her?" she thought. "Jake, is it true? What she is saying is the lie right?" Sophia asked. "Sophia, I can explain," Jake said trying to calm her. Sophia laughed, "You don't need to explain. I just wanted to confirm if what she said is true or not," Sophia said. "Sophy, we can discuss this better. You have to understand something. It's not what you are thinking," Jake tried to calm Sophia. "You even call her pet names. Have you ever called me a pet name? Have you?" Gina said hitting Jake's chest. "I will leave now. I don't want to be here to witness whatever you are gonna do between yourself," Sophia said pronouncing 'yourself' with stress and contempt. She left before any of them could reply.

Sophia flagged down a cab, entered and kept looking back at Jake and Gina who were still standing at his car. A tear slided down her cheeks. "Why am I crying? I shouldn't care. I hate him," Sophia thought hurtful, " He has always been deceitful. I know. Yes, I know. I hate him. I hate him so I shouldn't be bothered. I wish him the best with his girlfriend or fiancée. I knew I was gonna end up being treated like a trash," she thought. As she continued thinking about how hurt she was, she kept on tearing silently. When she alighted, she gave the cabman his fee and alighted without waiting for the balance. She rushed inside.

Jake and Gina burst into laughter after Sophia had left. "Wow. So all I needed to do was pretend I've someone I'm dating just to know if she is in love with me," Jake laughed. Gina didn't laugh with him this time around. She just smiled. "Well, my acting is wonderful," Gina said. "Hey, don't even think I will add to the fifty-five thousands at all," Jake said. "Stingy man," Gina said and went to the car. Jake laughed and entered the car too. "Where are we going now?" Gina asked. "To Sophia's apartment," Jake replied. "Oh. That is very okay. She might hurt herself all because of your stupid idea," Gina said, " Anyways, I like her for you already," she added and winked at him. Feeling proud, he said, "I'm good at choosing the perfect girl."

As soon as Sophia entered the house, she began ranting. "I hate him. I hate him. I foresaw today. I was just too stupid and foolish to see between the lines. Just when I was thinking of how to tell him I love him boom his fiancée came into the picture. I am stupid. Didn't I know most rich guys are being given out to arranged marriage? I'm very foolish. I was a fool. I am a fool," Sophia ranted on as she kept crying nonstop. Katherine who was awoken by Sophia's voice ran to the sitting room. "Sophia, what happened?" she asked. "I hate him. I hate him," Sophia repeated crying nonstop. "Hate who? Who are you talking about?" Katherine asked. "I don't want to mention his name. I hate him. I regret falling in love with him. He is my worst mistake. He had a fiancée all these while. I was stupid to realise it," Sophia cried more. Katherine realised now isn't the best time to ask her what happened so she began to pet her.

Jake and Gina alighted from the car when they got to Sophia and Katherine's apartment. "I just pray she won't jump on me for coming to her house after what I did. I've a fine face to protect," Gina said with a frown as she touched her face delicately. "Don't worry, I will lead the way. Stay behind me if you really care about your face. Sophia can be unpredictable," Jake said. "Okay. Let's go," Gina said. He knocked at the door. It was opened by Katherine. "Jake, thank God you are here. I don't know what is wrong with Sophia. She just came in not quite long and has been crying and saying she hates him," Katherine said as she dragged Jake in. Gina went after him grinning. 'Only if Katherine knows her supposed saviour caused Sophia's tears,' Gina thought.

When Sophia sighted Jake, she rushed towards him and pushed him away. Jake stood rooted to where he was. "What are you doing here? Go away. I don't want to see you," Sophia said still pushing him. She then sighted Gina who was smiling. "You even brought her here. Just go. I hate you," she cried more. Katherine just stood looking like she was watching a too incredible live show. 'Sophia said she didn't love Jake. What is all this drama about?' Katherine thought.

Jake held Sophia's hand and pulled her into a hug which she was wriggling her body from. Jake patted her head. Sophia soon calmed down but was still crying. "So you love me, psycho-angel," Jake whispered to her. Sophia raised her head and pushed him away. "No," Sophia said. "What is going on here? I'm lost," Katherine said. Gina pulled Katherine away from Jake and Sophia. "He created the mess so let him clean it himself," Gina replied. Katherine had a question mark expression on his face.

"I'm sorry for what I did. I just wanted to know if you love me too. I know you won't tell it to me that is why I thought of an idea. Gina is not a fiancée or girlfriend. She is a sister," Jake said. "You are lying. I'm done believing your lies. I've basked in your lies enough," Sophia said as a tear slide down from her eyes. Jake wiped the tear with his thumb. "I'm sorry Sophia," Jake apologised. "Okay. Apology heard. Apology accepted. Now leave," Sophia said. Jake nodded negatively and pulled Sophia into a kiss. How much he has always wanted this.

Katherine looked at Gina for explanation. Gina made a puppy face at her. "I'm a baby who knows nothing," Gina said. "Please, I'm so lost," Katherine pleaded. "Two candy can help," Gina said. "Okay. Let's go to the kitchen and leave the two of them to sort out themselves," Katherine said. "Sure," Gina said. She walked beside Katherine away from Sophia. She is still afraid her face might be scratched.

Sophia tried to break from the impromptu kiss but Jake held her close and tightly. He later ended the kiss and looked into Sophia's eyes with love and care. "I love you, Sophia. I'm sorry for what I did. I will accept any punishment from you but don't push me away," Jake said. Sophia looked at him. "Say something, please," Jake pleaded. "You are stupid. You are a fool. An idiot," Sophia said, "You know what I hate you. Why? What did you do? Why am I believing your lies again? Why?" Sophia hit his chest continuously. "My lies are beautiful," Jake grinned. "Who taught you lame lines?" Sophia smiled for the first time since Jake came in. "You made me realise how lame my lines are," Jake said. "Let me be, idiot. You made me lose my precious tears for nothing," Sophia said, " And my voice, I shouted for nothing." Jake smiled. "About the tears, I will get you ice cream, your favourite. The voice, this will restore it," Jake kissed Sophia again. This time around Sophia kissed him back.

Gina told Katherine all that happened. "Jake is a fool. I knew Sophia love him. She just isn't the type of let her emotion be known," Katherine said. "Don't worry, bro Jake will make her happy. I trust him," Gina said vouching for Jake. "I know. Let's make dinner since we are in the kitchen. After the tears and so much persuasions, those two will become hungry," Katherine said. Gina laughed. "Don't worry. I will make my brother marry you," Gina joked. Katherine laughed.
