Dylan's Girlfriend?
Gina soon got to Katherine's place. "I thought you'd be coming with a driver," Katherine said. "Nope. I prefer using a cab," Gina responded. "Alright. We should get going," Katherine said. "Not after something," Gina said and ran to the kitchen. "Don't take anything in there," Katherine shouted after her. "Just a little," Gina said already scooping from the bowl of chocolate in the fridge. "Arrhh! That belongs to Sophia," Katherine said. "Tell her I love her," Gina said mouthful. "Tsk. Just let's go," Katherine pushed Gina out, not forcefully.
They soon got to the Olsen's mansion. Katherine was left mouth agape staring at the mansion. "This is definitely a castle from a fairy tale," she uttered subconsciously. The gate was soon opened. Gina and Katherine stepped in. "Hey little girl, who is she?" the eldest worker asked as they walked in. "Good afternoon sir," Katherine greeted with a smile. "I'm Gina and not little girl," Gina frowned. "Will this little girl answer me now or she wants cats by her window?" the eldest worker said with a mischievous grin. "She is big bro's girlfriend," Gina mumbled. "Big bro? Jake?" the eldest worker questioned. "No. Dylan," Gina answered. "Dylan? Is it true? Or she told you to say so?" the eldest worker who was surprised asked Katherine. "Yes, it's true," Katherine smiled.
"I don't believe you guys. Dylan will never like a female talk more of loving her after what happened with Piper eleven years ago," the eldest worker said. "People change. It's been long since you last saw him. He doesn't come here," Gina said. "Just go in. If I begin arguing with you, I will spend the rest of my day just talking," the eldest worker said. "Yes. I won't allow some old man defeat me in an argument," Gina said. The man laughed. "When your lie about her being Dylan's girlfriend blow up, I will be here to see what happens next," the eldest worker said and went his way.
"He is always like that," Gina told Katherine without she asking. "He made me remember my father. He loves engaging in bantering with little ones too," Katherine said. "Are you saying I'm a little girl too?" Gina asked. "No, you are not. I'm just saying something," Katherine said. "Okay. This little girl has heard," Gina said. "You just called yourself a little girl," Katherine pointed out. "Yes, I'm one to myself and not others," Gina said. Katherine laughed at her.
"Good afternoon ma'am," Katherine greeted as they met Old Mrs Olsen in the sitting room watching some boring old people movies - as Gina call it. "Mom, you wouldn't believe me if I tell you who she is," Gina sat beside her mom. Katherine smiled looking at how much resemblance both mother and daughter has. She was convinced immediately that even Mr Olsen must have been a hell of a handsome guy before his face accident. "How are you, my dear. Please you can sit," Old Mrs Olsen said. "I'm fine. Thank you ma'am," Katherine responded and sat. "Who is she, madam?" Old Mrs Olsen asked. "She is big bro's girlfriend," Gina said excitedly. "Dylan's girlfriend?" Old Mr Olsen was surprised. "Yes. Surprised?" Gina asked smiling. "Don't pull my legs. I'm too old to be pranked," Old Mrs Olsen said.
"She isn't pulling your legs, ma'am. I know it's difficult to believe. Even I was surprised the day he told me he is in love with me. It took me more than a week to get over the shock," Katherine said. Her wordings were just going smoothly as though she is truly Mr Olsen's girlfriend. "So you mean, Dylan will give me grandchildren?" Old Mrs Olsen questioned. Katherine was surprised at Old Mrs Olsen's utterance but quickly laced it with a smile. She nodded to her statement. "Where is dad?" Gina asked when she noticed the awkwardness on Katherine's face. "He is in the garden," Old Mrs Olsen replied. "Oh ok. We'll come back. I want to show her my room," Gina said and pulled Katherine up. "There is nothing special about your room except that it is always rowdy," Old Mrs Olsen said after them. "She knows. Or don't you?" Gina asked. "I do," Katherine responded enough for Old Mrs Olsen to hear and laughed later on.
"This is big bro's room when he was still living here," Gina stopped at the front of a room. "Why did he stop living here?" Katherine asked. "It was in this room that Piper poured acid on him according to what I heard," Gina answered. "Piper poured acid on him? Why? And how dare she come back again after what she did?" Katherine fumed. "I don't know the back story of what happened and no one is willing to tell me not even bro J. who loves to recount their childhood times. He will always skip any incidence that has to do with Piper," Gina said. "Can I go in?" Katherine asked. "Yes," Gina opened the door.
The duo stepped in. Looking around, Katherine found a house blueprint on the table which used to serve as the reading table. "What blueprint is this?" Katherine asked. "No one knows. Only big bro and bro J can answer the question," Gina said. "Okay. What was his favorite toy?" Katherine asked. "This," Gina handed over a hairpin to Katherine. "Hairpin? Favorite toy?" Katherine was bewildered. Like who makes hairpin their toy? "Yes. It's weird, right?" Gina said. "Very weird especially that he is a male," Katherine said. "He cherished it a lot then because it was given to him by bro J," Gina said. "If it was given to him by Jake, why did he stop using it?" Katherine wondered. "Mom said he was wearing the hairpin when Piper poured the acid," Gina answered. "Ohh? I see. He was trying to get rid of anything that could make him remember that day," Katherine nodded slowly. "Maybe yes," Gina shrugged. "Can I take it?" Katherine asked. "Sure, you can. Anything for my sister-in-law," Gina flashed her teeth. "I'm not your sister-in-law. This is just a facade," Katherine said.
When they got to the room which serves as the family's memorial room, after leaving Gina's room, Gina went directly to a photo album and pulled out the needed picture. Katherine was surprised. "I thought you said we will have to search for it," she said. "Well. Well. I just wanted mom and dad to meet you. You know, I want you as my sister-in-law," Gina said giving her innocent face. "Aishh! So I was deceived here," Katherine said. "I love you for coming," Gina gave her a bear hug. "Sly fox," Katherine said and pinched Gina's cheeks.
"I still can't believe Dylan will love someone else considering what happened eleven years ago and his reaction," Old Mrs Olsen said whilst they were having a late lunch. Katherine just smiled. She knew better than make a commentary remark. "I hope he would have been over his anger towards us too," Old Mr Olsen said sadly. Katherine gave Gina who was sitting opposite her a questioning look. "That's for another time," Gina mouthed. Katherine nodded in affirmative. "Don't ruin this happy moment with your usual unhappy dad feeling," Old Mrs Olsen glared at Old Mr Olsen. Katherine just picked on her food and pretended she saw nothing. "May I ask? What happened eleven years ago?" Katherine questioned. "Hmmm. Eleven years ago, Piper and Dylan were so......," Old Mrs Olsen began to narrate but was interrupted. "It's not your story to tell," Mr Olsen who had barged in at that moment said. Katherine widened her eyes seeing Mr Olsen.
