The car started and it started moving at a steady speed as it drove towards the estate's exit. The gates of the estate opened as we approached and the car immediately started moving fast, speeding down the neat tarred road out of the estate.
"Just so I can remind you later, Nigel was never on speaking terms with us so don't be disappointed if he tells his men to throw us out," Nathan said and I faced him, rolling my eyes.
"We still have to try."

The Lusted Fangs Clan was at the other end of the city so it was a long drive and we had been on the road for over 50 minutes. We were lucky that there was no traffic and we would soon be at The Lusted Fangs.
While on the road, I wanted to to just lean my head on the chair and try to catch a quick nap, but it was just impossible. Everytime I closed my eyes, I could feel my hidden memories trying to push through. I didn't want to relieve any of those memories. I couldn't.
"We're here," Killian's voice alerted and I looked straight up at the massive gate of the clan. It was one of the biggest Vampire Clans in LA and surrounding cities, and as long as I could remember, it had always been a fortress.
A clan populated with influential Vampires and traders.
The height of the massive black gate was intimidating. It had always been. I looked at the watch towers at the both sides of the gate and the guards standing on them seemed to have noticed us.
This clan was like an entire region of the city on it's own. Everything was pretty conspicuous, the huge gates, heavy security, and all the daily activities, but they were Vampires. They only needed to blink their eyes to compell anyone who questions them to ignore them.
The pack wasn't this separated from the government and yet, we occasionally had government officials coming to do a brief check in on the running and activities of the estate.
The estate was disguised as a place for people who can afford to place high bids on properties and they were many rich folks who tried to get in, but of course, we only accept those we want and no matter how much they're offering, we just tell them that someone else got it.
I felt the car stop as we got to the gate and two guards stepped out of the gate and walked towards our car. I looked up through the window and saw the guards on the watch towers watching us closely and carrying guns.
"Werewolves? What are they doing here?" I heard one of them whisper with my wolf hearing.
Just like they definitely could, I could smell their pungent Vampire blood and I hissed in irritation.
"What do you want?" One of the guards standing by our car asked. I opened the door of the car and gently climbed down from the car to face the guard.
I looked up with the corner of my eyes and saw that the guards on the watch towers had their guns pointed at me.
"I think you should be able to remember my face," I said, returning the intense glare of guards..
Even if they didn't remember me from the several times I have visited this place, they should be able to remember the face of one of LA's most powerful Alpha.
"Not that it matters, but I'm here to talk to your general," I added and the guards glanced at each other briefly, facing me again.
They looked up at the other guards on the roof tower and after ending what seemed like a phone call, one of them said words I couldn't hear from down here.
Healing wasn't the only things were better at, they also had sharper senses.
I looked at the two guards standing before me hoping to hear them relay whatever that message was.
"You can come in," one of them said and I nodded.
I opened the door of the car again and climbed in, shutting the door.
The large gates were opened up once again and Killian started the car, slowly driving us into the Clan's territory.
"Well, I had thought that we'll be turning around and heading back home by now," Nathan said and squeezed his mouth with a shrug.
Well to be honest, I also didn't think that Nigel would allow us to come in so quickly. I originally thought that I would have to stand my ground and refuse to leave here until Nigel agreed to see me.
As we drove through the streets of the clan, I looked around. It was structured like a small self-sustaining city, except that it can't be self-sustaining if they have to leave here to get blood to feed on.
I heard once that some clans had human farms, but even at that, they wouldn't be able to survive completely without relating with the human world.
The drive to the Clan tower took another ten minutes and when we finally arrived there, there were several guards standing in wait and Killian had to bring the car to a sudden halt to avoid running into any one.
I hissed in annoyance and I opened the door, climbing out of the car.
Nathan climbed out too and Killian climbed out too and one of the guards around walked towards us.
"I'll take you to see thr general," he said and I nodded, walking after him into the tower. It was so tensing being around so many Vampires and having their scent stuff up my airways, but I needed the information I came for so I needed to endure this.
We followed the guard through the familiar building. At least, it was to me.
We walked up the last flight of stairs I remembered should lead to the General's chamber and I looked up to see the golden doors of the chamber. We stopped as we got to the chamber and my mind began to process how Nigel might react and in which way I should respond..
As the doors opened, I expected to see Nigel, but instead, there was a fine looking middle aged man sitting on the throne-like chair and holding a goblet of wine...blood?
It was a familiar face I didn't expect to see here today. This was probably the reason we were allowed in so quickly.
"Silas?!"
