"Oh my fucking jeez, I would do anything to see what his face looked like at the that point," Nathan said, bursting into laughter as we walked towards a car parked outside.




"I told you he liked you," Nathan said, laughing once again.




"Yes, we need to fix the faulty seatbelt in my car, something out of the movies almost happened today," I said, remembering when Landon looked up and his face nearly collided with mine.




"What happened?" Nathan asked and I shook my head.




"Nevermind, let's go," I said and I climbed into the car. Nathan climbed into the driver's seat and started the car driving onto the main road of the estate.




"Do you think Mr Xander is really serious about picking Rivera consolidated to be his partner in the government project?" I asked and Nathan faced me, chuckling.




"As you said the agreement is probably going to be filled up with outrageous clauses and conditions," Nathan replied.




"Come on, you told him to go straighten his life out, and you proceeded to say that he was about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle," Nathan stated and I nodded.




I looked out the window of the car typing my fingers against the side of the car in consistent rhythm.




10 minutes later, we finally arrived at the headquarter of Rivera consolidated and Nathan pulled up the car in the parking space.




I unbuckle my seatbelt immediately, and opened the door climbing down. Just as I close the door Nathan climbed down too and we both walked to the building.




"Welcome Mr. Rivera," the guards at the entrance door greeted me and I acknowledged them with a nod before walking into the building.




I worked directly to the secretary's desk so I could ask Kara about the details. She wasn't at her desk but the assistant secretary, Lisa was there.




"Evening, Mr. Rivera," she greeted and I nodded.




"Where's Kara?" I asked and just as I did Kara walked up to the desk.




"Good evening sir," She greeted.




"Yes, earlier you said that Mr Xander picked Rivera consolidated to partner with Starnex industries in the government," I said and she nodded.




"Yes, two people from Starnex Industries came earlier in the morning to inform us and they brought the agreement," Kara replied and she quickly picked up a file on her desk handing it to me.




It was really an agreement of our partnership with Starnex industries and surprisingly it had only two pages. I handed one of the pages to Nathan and I began to quickly read through the page with me.




I kept expecting to see something unacceptable in the next line, but till I reach the end everything on the page was clear and simple. Probably it was on the second page.




I looked up at Nathan who had finished reading the page with him and he seemed surprised.




"There's nothing bad here. In fact the terms are way easier than they should be normally," Nathan said and I scoffed in disbelief.




"This is definitely a trap and there's something between the lines we are not seeing. I'll have a lawyer go through it," I said and scoffed again.




"There's no need for that," I heard Viktor's voice behind me and I turned around to face him.




"I didn't know that you were around," he said




"I already give a photocopy to the company's lawyer, and there are no inconveniencing clauses," Viktor added and I nodded, still surprised at how Xander could have ignored all the insults I gave him.




I immediately remembered seeing Viktor talk to Xander outside the building that day and I raised my eyebrows in suspicion.




"Viktor, I saw you talking to Xander outside the other day, what did you say to him?" I asked and Viktor remain silent for a while looking as if he was surprised to hear the question.




"Umm. I was persuading him to consider this company and I told him that I will send the details you requested for to his mail," Viktor replied and I nodded slowly, even though I wasn convinced.




"Yeah, alright," I said and took the page that was with Nathan, arranging it back into the file and handing it to Kara.




"So there's going to be a gala in one week to finalize the agreement and meet all of the government officials involved," Viktor said and I nodded.




"Alright," I said and faced Nathan, nodding at the elevator.




We both walked into the elevator and I faced Nathan.




"I don't believe that's all Viktor said to make Xander pick us," I said and Nathan seemed to think about it for a while.




"Maybe, but I think we should just forget about it," Nathan said, but I shook my head.




"Not when we can check the video footage from that day," I said and the elevator door opened. I walked out immediately and I walked past my office heading straight to the security room.




"But what if he's really saying the truth? What if Xander is just stupid? Or what if he separates business from personal life?" Nathan asked but I wasn't convinced and I kept walking to the security room.




As I got to the security room I open the door and step them.




"Good evening, Mr. Rivera," Cole greeted and stood up from where he sat.




"Evening. Can you excuse us for a while I need to check some footages," I said and Cole did before walking out of the room. I walked to one of the computers in the room and I sat on the chair before it.




I quickly navigated to the security footages of that evening and I finally found the clip of where Viktor was talking to Xander.




I zoomed in on them and I switched on the Audio.




"You're going to pick Rivera consolidated to partner with you and you are going to make the agreement super easy and less complicated," Viktor said, staring into Xander's eyes and Xander nodded slowly.




I faced Nathan who looked equally shocked to see this and I covered my mouth with my palm.




"Did he just...."




"Compell him? Yeah," Nathan completed and answered my question.




"Viktor is a fucking Vampire."
