I was about to go out of hiding and confront them but I stopped as Alyssa talked again.




"Don't worry, I just went out to meet the Petrova Witches and I found a permanent solution to that nasty problem," Alyssa said and I remained standing where I was.




I have to find out what Alyssa plans to do. I won't let her succeed in her evil schemes.




If Alpha Jack was truly my Mate, I would find a way to make him know and then she and my father wouldn't be able to treat me badly again. I was definitely going to make Alyssa pay for everything she has done to me.


I remained where I was and waited for them to all walk into Alyssa's room. Phoebe walked in last and just as she closed the door, I kicked my sandal across the floor and just as I wanted, it stopped at the door, preventing the door from closing completely.


I looked at both sides of the corridor before walking up to the door quietly and standing by the door to eavesdrop on them.


"So what is happening now?" Keelin asked and sat on the bed next to Alyssa.


"I went back to the Petrova witches and they helped me strengthen the spell to lock their mate bond," Alyssa replied and I once again quickly covered my mouth with my palm to silence my gasp.


She was really despicable. How long has she known that Alpha Jack was my mate? And how the hell did she find out before any of us could?


"What if she manages to get her hands on something belonging to Alpha Jack again and the bond breaks through like before when you are not there?" Phoebe asked.


Suddenly, the memory of Alyssa quickly snatching that compass from me flashed in my head.


I was right, it had something to do with that compass. When I picked it up, I suddenly forgot about all my anxiety and fear and all I wanted to do was to meet with Alpha Jack.


I felt the mate bond for a while and I knew that Alpha Jack could feel it too, but the instant Alyssa's snatches that compass from me, all of that disappeared and my fears returned.


"I made the Petrova witches do a little something about that," Alyssa said in a mischievous tone and I moved closer abit so I could hear every detail of whatever she wanted to say.


"When the moon rises today, I'm going to perform a simple spell and this time, whenever Natasha or Alpha Jack comes in contact with anything that belongs to either of them, the only thing that's going to be happening is more hate and disgust," Alyssa said with a wicked smirk and I clenched my fist subconsciously.


Spell when the moon rises hungh? Let's see how you successfully pull that off.

"Well, this isn't awkward at all," Nathan said as I looked at Landon who was sitting next to Mr. Chartel.


I sighed internally and continued walking towards the table.


"Ah, Dante," Mr. Cartel said with a smile and a surprised tone.


"It' been long since I've seen you, are you here to meet someone?" Cartel asked.


"No, we are supposed to meet with you here for the estate project," I stated and Cartel looked surprised.


"Yes, I'm supposed to be meeting with you here today," I replied and Cartel looked surprised.


"Oh, you're one of those handling the new government estate project?!" He asked and I nodded.


"Yes, Rivera Consolidated was chosen," I said and he nodded with a smile before pointing at the seats.


I nodded too and I pulled back a chair, sitting on it. Nathan and Viktor also sat down on the other empty chairs.


"That's actually very great," Cartel said and smiled.


"I have to attend to a business deal with some investors abroad and I wanted you to Landon as he would be handling it in my stead," Cartel said and I glanced up briefly at Landon.


"But I guess there's no need for that. You, Nathan and Landon, working together just like old times," Cartel said and just then did I notice that a waiter was already at our table and he was taking orders already.


I looked up as he faced me and I faintly smiled, "I'll take whatever he's taking." I pointed at Nathan and he nodded.


"So, have you three been talking to each other," Cartel asked, glancing between Nathan, Landon, and me.


I looked up and my eyes met with Landon. We stared at each other for about 5 seconds and I looked away immediately.


"Yes," Nathan quickly replied.


"Landon and Dante actually hung out together 3 day ago, but I was busy handling pack issues," Nathan replied and Cartel nodded in satisfaction.


Two waiters soon arrived at the table with our orders and they left after setting it on the table.


"That's good, I remember that the three of you were always good friends, Jack too," Cartel said, picking up his cutlery to eat.


"By the way, I heard Jack is now the Alpha of the Gemini pack," Cartel stated and I nodded.


"Yes, that was six months ago when Alpha Illios died," Landon replied.


"Well, do you still speak to him?"


"Yes, I visit the pack on weekends and I stay with Jack in the main pack mansion," Landon said and picked up the glass of orange juice on the table before him.


Cartel faced me with a questioning look and I nodded.


"I see him sometimes during regional Alpha meetings," I said and Cartel nodded with a smile before looking at the wristwatch on his hand.


"Okay, I have to go now, I have to meet up with investors," Cartel said and he stood up, pushing his chair backward.


"I'll leave you to discuss the details of the agreement," Cartel said and I nodded as he walked away.


I sighed internally and I and Nathan happened to glance at each other before facing Landon again.


I picked up my glass of wine and held it to my lips just to divert attention. Well as Nathan said, 'This isn't awkward at all'
