Dagger
Natasha.
I stirred out of sleep and opened my eyes slowly. I looked around and I saw that I was lying on a bed in a cold dark room. I sat up on the bed and looked around I'm confusion.
A bed? How was there a bed here? The room I was in was also unfamiliar. I thought I was supposed to be in a cell right now.
I cried for so long after Alyssa left me alone and I didn't know when I slept off.
I climbed down from the bed and as soon as my feets touched the ground, the room I was in faded into a large, open meadow.
What?! I became super confused. What was happening? Where was I?
The sun was shining and there were no clouds in the sky.
The smell of freshly cut grass drifted across the meadow with the clippings scattered over the turf. The branches of the giant oak tree swayed to and fro in the wind, shaking the leaves, so they fell like raindrops, their green color fading and replaced by patches of brown.
The meadow was spacious, with a collection of trees and bushes guarding the perimeter.
All of this couldn't be real. The room suddenly changed to this place so I must be dreaming.
I noticed a swift movement behind me and I quickly turned around, but there was no one there.
I felt a shiver in my skin as fear crawled beneath it and I folded my arms against each other, rubbing it.
Where was I and what the hell was happening? How did I get here? I asked myself the same set of questions all over again.
"Natasha." I heard a voice call me and I turned around. There was a bright blinding blue light up ahead and I raised my hands to my eyes to protect my eyes from the bright light.
I slowly walked towards it out of curiosity and the light slowly dimmed, revealing a figure.
There was a woman standing there and she was wearing a white gown made from thin fabric. The lights was still shining dimly so I couldn't clearly see her face and I slowly walked closer to her.
Who was she and how did she know my name?
"Who are you?" I asked and as I got closer to the woman, I saw that her face looked familiar and my eyes widened in surprise.
I had never seen her physically in my life, but I have seen her pictures in the house.
"Mom?" I was so confused right now. I was in serious trouble right now and here I was, dreaming about my mom. She died why she was giving birth to me and that was the main reason why my dad hated me.
"Natasha, my girl," she said with a light smile on her face.
"Mom." I quickly moved closer to her and pulled her into a hug.
Burying my face in her shoulder, I began to cry.
"Mom, my life is miserable, why did you leave me?" I sobbed and she patted my back.
She broke the hug, and she grabbed my both hands, squeezing them gently.
"Everything will be fine darling," she said with an assuring smile.
"Nothing is fine. I'm never going to be together with my Mate and by the end of today I may not even be alive," I cried bitterly.
"You are going to be alright. Nothing bad will happen to you," my mum said and I looked around as I saw the surroundings begin to fade.
"You are about to wake up," my mom said and she stretched out a dagger to me. I looked at the dagger with a raised eyebrow, wondering why she was giving me a dagger in a dream.
I took the dagger from her and immediately everything faded into darkness.
*
I open my eyes as I stirred out of sleep. My eyes felt so heavy, and although I couldn't see them, I knew that they would be swollen.
I adjusted my position and set up with my back against the wall.
There was no where to check the time but I knew that I have been in this cell for about a day.
I suddenly stopped moving as my eyes caught something on the floor next to me. It was a dagger.
I didn't see any dagger since I have been here. I looked at the hilt of the dagger and saw that it was exactly the same as the one my mom had handed to me in the dream.
What the hell?! How was that even possible?!
I slowly reached out for the dagger and I picked it up from the floor.
I looked at the dagger closely. It looked as if it was made from wood but it also felt as if it was silver.
I began to hear footsteps approaching and I quickly hid the dagger in my dress. I looked up and saw two men stop before my cell.
One of them unlocked the door and opened it.
I slowly stood up to my feet, my heart beating rapidly.
Was this it? Were they here to take me to where I will be burnt!
I watched as the two of them walked towards me and they grabbed me roughly by the arm.
"Let's go you slut!" One of them said in irritation and they began to drag me out of the cell.
"Leave me alone!" I tried to struggle but their grip on me was tight.
As we got out of the cell one of them left me alone and closed the door of the cell.
I groaned and struggled to break free, but one of them grabbed my both hands behind my back and I began to feel in tie them together with silver chains.
"Let go of me! This isn't fair!" I screamed, struggling to separate my hands but he finally managed to tie them together with the chains.
"You are a shameless girl!" One of them said angrily and he smacked me on the face.
"You tried to shamelessly force yourself on a man and then you attempted to kill your own sister and you are saying that it isn't fair!" He yelled at me and my eyes began to tear up.
I didn't do any of those things, but I was being treated like a common prisoner! Why does life have to be so mean to me!
