Gay - Female Mate
Dante
"So where do you want us to go?" I asked.
"Ummmm......we would go watch a movie or eat lunch in a restaurant," he suggested.
"Lunch would be fine," I quickly answered. I definitely couldn't go watch a movie with him. Nathan could be right and doing that would be raising his hopes up.
"Alright. I know a restaurant," he said with a smile and I nodded, the both of us walking out of the gym.
I stretched out my car key to him and he took it from me, walking over to the driver's seat and climbing in. Just as I was about to climb into the car, I looked up and saw a man looking in my direction, but he looked away immediately our eyes and he walked away.
Was he looking at me earlier? Was someone watching me?
I shrugged and ignored it, opening the door and climbing in next to Landon. I closed the door and strapped on my seatbelt as Landon started the car.
He drove onto the road and I rolled down the windows on my side so I could look out.
"So last time I saw you, you said there were some issues with Rogues, has it been resolved?" Landon asked and I faced him, nodding.
"Yes, they were captured," I replied and he smiled.
"That's good to hear."
"So how are things at Gemini?" I asked.
"Nothing much is happening. Did you hear that Jack is now the Alpha?" He asked and I widened my eyes in surprise.
"Wow. I didn't know. What about Alpha Illios?" I asked.
"Alpha Illios died 6 months ago," he replied and I was even more shocked to hear this. How did I not know about all this. How did none of this information get my ears.
My father and Alpha Illios were close friends and together they built a school where all of the Werewolves went to so basically everyone from Black Cedar and Gemini knew each other.
I was in the same year with Landon and Nathan,Jack was one year below us, but we always hung out together.
"Let me guess, Rogues are involved," I said and Landon nodded.
"Yes," he replied and he pressed his lips into a tight line.
"We're here," Landon said and I felt the car slowly come to a halt before a restaurant. I tried to unbuckle the seat strapped on me, but it was stuck and i tried to force it out but it wouldn't open. Nathan already called my attention to it, but I kept forgetting to have it checked.
"Let me help," Landon said and unstrapped his own seat belt. Before I could stop him, he quickly leaned forward and he grabbed the buckle of the seat belt. He looked up and our faces were so close to each other. Staring directly at his face this closely was pure awkward and I quickly moved back a bit.
"It's stuck," I said and Landon nodded, looking down at the buckle again.
He grabbed it tightly and tugged at it tightly before it finally popped open. The sudden popping out caused Landon's hand to spring up and hit my jaw.
I grunted and quickly grabbed my jaw.
"Sorry," Landon quickly apologized and before I knew it, he reached for my jaw and tried to check if I was injured.
"I can get some ice," he said, but I gently pushed his hand away and shook my head.
"I'm fine, don't worry," I said with an assurring nod and looked away immediately.
I opened the door of the car and I climbed down quickly, closing the door.
Landon climbed down too and he closed the door, pointing at the restaurant. I nodded and we both walked into a restaurant.
We sat at table near the transparent wall of the restaurant and soon a waitress walked towards our table.
"Welcome sirs," the waitress greeted with a smile and I regarded her with a nod.
"What would you like to have?" She asked and I looked at a menu card that was already placed on the table.
I went through it briefly, but I quickly went ahead to pick the first thing on the list. I didn't want to spend time longer than I have to here.
"A burger and apple juice please," I replied with a smile and she nodded, hurriedly jotting pad she was holding.
She faced Landon next and he smiled at her, "I'll take what he's having," he replied and she nodded before walking away.
"It's been long I've seen Nathan, how is he?" Landon asked, placing his hand on the table and intertwining his fingers.
"He's alright. He knows that I came to see you," I replied and Landon nodded. I looked up as the waitress walked towards us with our order.
She set it on the table in a tray and she nodded before walking away.
I pulled my burger and juice closer to me and the both of us began to eat quietly..
As I finished eating, I sighed internally and leaned back into the chairs not knowing what to say.
I began to consider the possibility that things would have been less awkward if Nathan hadn't given me an idea that Landon could like me.
I finally decided on what to say and I sat up.
"So you never talked about your Mate, who is he?" I asked, hoping to hear that he had already met his mate and I noticed that his countenance became somewhat sullen.
It soon changed again and he smiled lightly, "it's a she, and she's no longer my Mate," Landon said and I tried to hide the surprise I felt.
A she? I've always known that Werewolves got their mates based on their sexuality. Landon wasn't straight, nor was he bisexual so why was he fated to a woman? But wait, no longer his mate?!
"We both agreed to break the mate bond," he answered the question on my mind and I nodded, mouthing an "Oh"
I didn't know what to say anymore so I looked out of the transparent wall when I noticed someone looking at me from the other side of the street.
It was the same man I saw earlier. He was definitely following me. What the hell does he want?
