Arrowhead
Natasha.
I glanced at the tray on the stool and sighed. I absolutely can't eat that and I don't want it to be here when dinner is brought.
I stood up as I thought about finding the kitchen here and returning it. I picked up the tray, but just as I was about to walk out, I changed my mind.
I stopped walking and I slowly turned around, staring at my bed as I remembered the prisoner I met yesterday.
Bastien.
I glanced at my bed, contemplating on if I should do what was on my mind or not. I could get in trouble if anyone finds out that I've been secretly going to the dungeon and talking to a prisoner.
There was nothing else I could do right now and that man was making me feel this strange curiousity.
I walked on my bed and bent down, grabbing the bed and pulling it away from the trap door.
I sighed and I pulled open the trap door. I stood up straight, sighing again and I walked back to the stool where I placed the tray of food.
I grabbed the tray of food and I climbed into the stairs. I slowly climbed down the dark flight of stairs so I wouldn't trip and drop the tray.
As I got to the foot of the stairs, I placed my hand on the same brick as before and pushed it slightly. The walls parted again and I walked into the dungeon.
I looked left and right as I passed by all of the stairs and I stopped as I reached where Bastien was hung.
I dropped the tray on the floor before slowly walking closer to him.
As if he had sensed me coming, he slowly raised up his head with his eyes closed..
His eyelids fluttered before his eyes slowly opened up.
"It's you," I could barely hear his silent, weak voice.
I crossed my arms over my chest as I remembered how he suddenly bit my hand yesterday.
"I'm sorry," he said again and I scoffed.
"I'm really sorry," he apologized again.
"Stop pretending to me," I retorted, slightly annoyed.
"I didn't mean to, I was really thirsty and I couldn't control myself," Bastien continued apologizing and he jerked up, coughing violently. The sound cough and the rattling of the chains echoed around the dungeon.
"I di-"
"It's okay," I said, stopping him from hurting himself by talking any longer.
"So I have some food here, but I guess what you really need is blood," I said, pointing at the tray on the floor.
"I.......I can have some of it and water," Bastien stated and I nodded. I walked back a bit and I opened the cover of the food, picking up a spoon and placing it in the salad.
I walked closer to Bastien and I scooped up a spoon of Salad. I slowly stretched out the spoon towards Bastien's mouth, holding the spoon at the tip. His lips slowly parted and he swallowed it.
I scoopped up another spoon and kept feeding him till the food was halfway finished.
I went to drop the plate back on the tray and I picked up the glass of water.
I walked to Bastien and I hesitated as my hand would be closer to his face and he might do what he did the last time.
I summoned up courage and held the glass to his lips, tilting it slightly so he could drink it.
I pulled away as the glass was almost empty and I placed it back on the tray.
"I'll leave now," I said, but as I was about to pick up the tray, he stopped me.
"Wait," Bastien said and I slowly turned around to face him.
"The arrows," he said and my eyes darted to the three arrowheads sticking out of his heart.
"Can you please pull them out?" He asked and I scoffed. Why would he even ask that?
"Pull them out?" I asked in surprise.
"You are a prisoner, so why would I help you?"
"My feet and hands are already chained. I won't be able to do anything," he said..
I slowly crossed my arms over my chest as I thought about what to do. I looked at the thick chains used to bind him.
The arrows were unnecessary and it was only making him suffer even more. If I pulled it out now, no one would have any idea that it was me since I supposedly don't have access to this place.
I unfolded my arms and I slowly walked closer to Bastien. I walked to his back and I grabbed the three arrows, breaking than. He winced slightly as I did and I dropped the three of them to the floor.
I walked back to his front and I and I grabbed one of the arrow heads, pulling it out. He groaned loudly as I did and I dropped the blood stained arrowhead to the ground.
I grabbed the second arrowhead and I pulled it out too. He groaned even louder this time and I dropped the arrowhead..
Just as I was about to grab the third arrowhead, I heard a distant sound and I stopped immediately. The sound came from my room.
Someone was knocking on the door. It could be Dante and he could have a spare key or force it open.
"I have to go," I said and I quickly grabbed the tray before running back to the stairs. I pushed the brick and the walls closed back up.
I quickly ran up the stairs and I dropped the tray on the bed. I bent down and closed up the trap door.
The person knocked on the door the second time and I hurriedly pushed the bed back to it's original place.
"Coming," I said as I stood up and I ran to the door. I opened the door and just as I had thought, it was Dante.
